BBAW Future Treasures

Today’s topic:

We want to hear all about your FUTURE treasures.  We’ve been visiting each other and getting to know each other better…now is your chance to share what you enjoyed about BBAW and also what your blogging goals are for the next year!

Well, as a new blogger, this is my first time participating in BBAW and it has been a wonderful opportunity to discover new bloggers that I have common interests with and feeling the love of the book blogging community. It can get a wee bit lonely as a new book blogger but it has been great getting to know and appreciate others who are doing the same thing as me.

My goals for this next year:

-Getting a REAL layout and whatnot. I just threw this one together because I didn’t really know what I wanted and didn’t feel like fussing with it. What I had to say was more important than what the blog looked like at first. I could have the prettiest, most awesome layout but that isn’t going to make readers of my blog. So, first, figure out what I want in a layout, and second, find someone to do it.

– This isn’t the only blog I have. I also write for The Broke and the Bookish–a blog that was birthed from the College Students group that I created and moderate on Goodreads. Between reading, writing for both blogs, maintaining and organizing them, marketing, and moderating the CS group…I’ve felt a bit stressed out. And I’m not even mentioning all that goes on in my personal life. I struggle with time management so in the next year I’d like to figure out how to balance all of this and to be more organized with it.

I feel like I have a few more smaller goals but those are the two that I can think of immediately.

About Jamie

Jamie is a 32 year old married lady (with a new baby!!) who is in denial that she's actually that old to be a married lady and a mom. When she's not reading you can find her doing Pilates followed by eating ice cream, belting out Hamilton (loud and offkey) and having adventures with her husband, daughter and rescue dog.

May you keep reading wonderful books and blog about those for us!

Here is my BBAW: Forgotten Treasures post!

  2. I hear you on the layout!

If you want custom art – talk to me about getting in contact with my art-provider. She is well-priced and fantastically talented!

Ha ha, I just ordered a book from Better World Books called Organizing Your Life For Idiots, mainly because like you, I'm not the best with balancing everything.

Great goals! I actually like the layout you have now, it is very clean. 🙂

  4. Well for custom layouts, I highly recommend Danny, who did mine! 🙂 She just get to know the bloggers' personality, taste, and style before she works on the actual layout. So good! She raised her price from when I asked her to do mine, but it's still pretty good.

Oh and I hear you on the time management one.. don't we all?

  5. Time management is impossible. TIme refuses to be managed.

Please consider this comment your invitation to finish up your BBAW week by adding a link to any reviews you've managed to post this week to the Saturday Review of Books at Semicolon this Saturday. Every week book bloggers from all over the blogosphere post links to their reviews and other bloggers and readers check out the reviews and find even more books to add to their wishlists.

Thanks for blogging and reading and sharing.

Just keep on reading and blogging!
