Book Blogger Hop

The Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Jen at Crazy for Books! Hello if this is the first time you are stopping by!
The question this week is:
Where is your favorite place to read?

Oh boy. I’m an all over the place reader. I can’t ever sit still and I’ll read anywhere. However, I do have a few favorites. In the summer (or when it’s nice out), I really enjoy laying outside in my really comfy lounge chair on our outside porch. In the winter, my favorite place to read is curled up in front of the fireplace. There is nothing better than that!

What about you..where is your favorite place to read? Do you move around a lot when you read?

First, let me start by saying: I can (and do) read ANYWHERE. I consider it a gift that I have the ability to tune out my surroundings and completely lose myself in a book 🙂

That being said, recently my favorite place to read has been the subway. Not very exotic, I know, but since moving to NYC my everyday commute is 45min each way, leaving me plenty of time to get lost in a book. I think I find it appealing because of the multitasking notion — I'm gobbling up chapters AND getting to my destination. Plus, I'm one of the few people who doesn't get fussy when the train is delayed… because it means more time for reading!

  2. Ohhh stop talking about the summer. Now I'm dreaming about it!!! But a fireplace does sound good too. SOMEDAY I'll move out of an apartment and get one. A girl can hope anyway!

  3. Anna, I'm dreaming about moving out of an apartment too! doesn't a fireplace sound wonderful??

In the meantime, I'll take my super comfy squishy sofa. I just need some track lighting over this stupid thing so I can see what the heck I'm reading once the sun has gone down.

  4. I would LOVE to read in front of the fireplace – only problem is not having one lol. I really wish it was still summer so I could lay out on the beach and read. My couch will just have to do 🙂

  5. I also read in different spots, depending on the weather and time of day.

    Your blog is wonderful! 🙂

Blog Hopper and Friday Follow here!

My answer is in the cozy two-seater chair in my living room. It's so comfy!

Follow Friday answer: I am reading Black Magic Lover by Cynthia Cooke, Harlequin Nocturne paperback.

Followed! Hope you follow back. Happy reading!

Hi, I'm here on the Hop!

My parents have an open fire place and in winter it's the best thing ever! So snuggly! I have a gas one in my book room and when the fan kicks on it's very noisy. I much prefer the subtle sound of sparks and fire crackling!

  8. I love reading in the bathtub or at the coffee shop – basically I need warmth and comfort while I read. However when listening to audiobooks, my preferred activity is gardening, so my garden is also a great spot – something about weeding makes for really focused listening.

  9. I don't mind changing locations to read either but I do have a couple of favorites! Mine include the couch and my bed 🙂

  10. I used to read in front of the fireplace but the one we have now smokes up the whole house when we try to light it.
I came over from the Blogger Hop. Love your blog.

  13. You are cordially invited to add a link to your book reviews for the week at my Saturday Review of Books at Semicolon. It's a sort of round-up of bloggers' book reviews each week on Saturday:

  14. I wish that I could read anywhere but even if I'm in the middle of a great book, I can't seem to pay attention with noises such as a television in the same room.

I like a couch in a quiet room. I wish I had a fireplace because that sounds amazing!
