My 25th Birthday Bash!! DAY 1!

I love October for many reasons (the leaves, pumpkins, apple cider, pumpkin spiced lattes, etc.) but my birthday happens to fall smack dab in the middle of this lovely month! October 15th, to be exact! I absolutely LOVE this bookish community that I’ve become a part since starting this blog in June 2010 and would love for you to celebrate the beginning of my quarterlife crisis with me! πŸ™‚

The theme for my birthday bash week will be “These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things” (cue The Sound of the Music crew).  Each day this week I will be sharing a favorite thing with you and there will be a giveaway as part of each day so you should check back throughout the week to see what I have in store for you!

The theme to kick things off for today is my favorite books! Shocking, I know! I love books!? Like many of you, I’ve been a reader since I was very young and was notorious for having my nose in a book and finishing chapter books in a day. My sister could never understand why I always wanted to read rather than play Barbies with her! I grew up on Sweet Valley, Nancy Drew, Little House on the Prairie, Babysitter’s Club and The Boxcar Children. I went through a slump in high school and the beginning of college where I wasn’t reading as voraciously as I used to. A lit class in my senior year of college made me become a bookworm again and I haven’t looked back!

My favorite books are all so different from each other. They are my favorites for so many different reasons. Sometimes it is how they move me, sometimes it is the action and how I can’t put them down, or it is the beautiful prose or unforgettable characters.

So, for this GIVEAWAY, two lucky winners will get to win one of my favorite books!

Here are the books you have to choose from:

  2. My all time favorite books would be Speak and the Harry Potter series. I think to make a book my favorite the story has to be entirely solid and the writing has to be just right – I don't like cliches or predictability.
