Life Update: Where I’ve Been

I’ve been MIA on my blog and Twitter for the past week….and I have a darn good reason why. VACATION. Even though it wasn’t to anywhere exotic or exciting (because I’m too broke for cool things like that), I’ll share a little bit of my vacation with you.

Every year we have a crab feast/ family reunion near my stepdad’s uncles house near the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. We go crabbing and just hang out at this state park. It’s a long standing tradition that we’ve always participated in every August. We’ve started a new family tradition in which every other year we (about 40 adults and kids) rent houses near the beach on Fenwick Island in Delaware. It’s close to the beach, has a pool in the community and is really close to Ocean City, MD. It’s really a lot of fun.  And  THEN…my boyfriend did something very spontaneous that I will tell you below. Here’s a little look….

I spent a lot of time reading at the beach.
And when I didn’t feel like going to the beach…I went to the pool.
Spent time with my huge family
Went on the boardwalk and did my favorite things — photobooths, rode the Slingshot for the 2nd time in my life (you know that scary looking ball that launches you up into the air) & ice cream.
Went to Maryland for our family crab feast with even MORE family. Ate copious amounts of crab.
Looked super fierce on the playground
Then remembered that really I’m just a kid at heart
Then I got rained on at a Baltimore Orioles game (but still had tons o’ fun)

Sunday morning after checking out and saying bye to the family at brunch, the bf and I decided to extend our vacation until Monday night and drive to DC and stay. We got an amazing deal on a FREAKING AWESOME hotel on Dupont Circle and ate at this awesome Spanish restaurant called Bodega.
We went to Georgetown and got cupcakes at Sprinkles!  OH MY GOOD GOD.
I got a Red Velvet Cupcake & my boyfriend got a Vanilla one.

I drooled over it and then devoured it.

And speaking of food, we ate Pinkberry 2 times in 24 hours. HOLLA. That was for all you BEA girls!
And that, dear friends, is how I spent the past ten days. I probably doubled my weight with all the food I ate but I had a damn good time. I missed blogging and Twitter..but seriously..I LOVE MY LIFE.
