My Bookish Calendar : August & September

Since BEA I haven’t really been to any bookish events — minus the AMAZING signing with Maureen Johnson, Sara Shepard and Sarah Mlynowski!!

I’ve gotten a slew of events for the rest of the summer and for the start of Fall!

For Sure Going To:

August 27 – PAYA Festival – West Chester, PA: This was the FIRST time everrrr I met any other bloggers or authors. It was SUCH a fun time and some of the people I met here have remained of my best blogging buddies!

Authors:
Josh Berk
Cyn Balog
Jeri Smith-Ready
A.S. King
Dianne Salerni
Shannon Delany
Shelena Shorts
Ellen Jensen Abbott
Alissa Grosso

Charlotte Bennardo and Natalie Zaman

Amy Holder
Keri Mikulski
Chelsea Swiggett
April Lindner
Leah Clifford

September 24-25: NATIONAL BOOKS FESTIVAL — In Washington, DC  — So fun last year!! I went with my boyfriend and he even had a decent time. This year it is TWO DAYS!!

Penciled In:

August 30 – Jonathan Maberry’s release party for Dust & Decay at the Doylestown Bookshop

September 23: YA night at the Doylestown Bookshop – Amy Holder, Ellen Jensen Abbott, Alissa Grosso, Jennifer Hubbard

September 26: Ellen Hopkins signing at Chester County Books & Music Co.

Are any of you going to be at these events? For those of you not around here, are you going to any awesome events throughout the rest of August or in September? Do you have any other book events happening in the Philadelphia area or anywhere within driving distance that I should know about?

About Jamie

Jamie is a 28 year old married lady who is in denial that she's actually that old. When she's not reading you can find her doing Pilates followed by eating gelato, listening to music with oversized headphones and teaching her niece how to be as awesome as she is.

Jamie, are you skipping out on the Brooklyn Book Festival this year? I plan on crashing that blogger-style!

So tempted to go to the National Book Festival but I am not sure my hubby can handle two bookish trips out to baltimore in less than 5 months. He would KILL me!

Have fun at your PAYA event. I know you had a blast last year.

  4. Hmmmm, I'm seriously considering the PAYA festival. It's only a 3 hr drive from here….
