Bookish Engagement & Wedding Pictures – Wedding Wednesday

If you follow me on Twitter, you might recall me mentioning that we found a photographer! We are having Morrissey Photography — the cutest husband and wife duo ever — cover our wedding and we are more than thrilled! While I don’t plan on having a real specific shot list, I do have specific wedding shots I do want and I totally do want to incorporate some bookish element into our wedding photos and engagement photos. So I put together my list of the cutest, most bookworm worthy engagement and wedding photo ideas. I will be for sure using some of these ideas and modifying them! Will already agreed we could do a funny bookish sort of picture of us behind behind my fave book and him behind something funny or ironic..since he doesn’t read. We joked that it would be the “Everybody Poops” book.

All the images are linked to where I found them!
Which ones are your favorite? Have any good ideas for a bookish wedding photo that you want to share with me?? I have a few but I’d love your brains! 😛

About Jamie

Jamie is a 32 year old married lady (with a new baby!!) who is in denial that she's actually that old to be a married lady and a mom. When she's not reading you can find her doing Pilates followed by eating ice cream, belting out Hamilton (loud and offkey) and having adventures with her husband, daughter and rescue dog.

  1. I like the 4th one (kissing behind the book) and the Love in ring & scrabble letters one. The dress in the library is nice, and the through the shelves one, too, but the ones of people standing on books make me shudder! LOL

  2. Jenna (JL @ An Avid Reader's Musings) says:

I really like the second picture and the one in the library. All of them are nice, although I'm not sure about standing in heels on a book…

  3. So cute! We did some of our wedding photos in a used bookstore =) We have this poster on our living room wall ( and, although not all of our photos were this steamy, we wanted to do aisles of books as the backdrop. The photographer had me hold a book and my husband pose trying to get my attention while I was reading and ignoring him. The photos turned out really well! Kind of fun and un-traditional.

  4. Andrea @ The Overstuffed Bookcase says:

These are all so cute! I love the second one but since your fiance doesn't read, maybe not that one? Or maybe you could do a variation of it with just you in your gown… I also like the two different ones with the shoes on the books! I wish I had thought of some bookish things to do when I got married. Have fun and good luck deciding! 😉

  5. I really like the first three! For the second picture maybe you could scatter books around you and have sports magazines or movies around him?

  6. My first, not very imaginative thought was "Awwwww!". These photos are so cute and fun. Such a lovely way of remembering your special day 🙂 My favorite is the last one: romance in the library/bookstore. Gorgeous 🙂

  7. My daughter has that one with the Scrabble tiles pinned…since she and her fiance play it sometimes…love that one….

  8. I don't have any suggestions but I LOVE these pics! Very original.

  9. Jasmine Rose says:

Bookish wedding pictures totally win :] I wish my husband and I had more thought put into our pictures. We're both bookish people, but we barely had any bookish pictures taken. We did get a few in the library that was near our venue, though :]

  10. I absolutely adore these posts Jamie! And I'm getting even more excited for you about your wedding. It sounds like it's going to be a very magical event. <3

My favorite photos in your post are the last few, the ones taken in actual libraries. There's just something quite lovely about the stark contrast of the white gown with the bookshelves and book spines…

  11. great photos!
Neat post and love your blog… would you like to follow each other!

  12. April (BooksandWine) says:

I love those pictures. Jamie, I want to get married. SIGH. At least you aren't an engaged getting married after zero time dating type.

ALSO, my favorites are the ones where they are kissing behind the book. AND THEN the very first picture. And then the bottom ones.

LOVE THIS and as usual you hit it out of the park.

  13. I love this feature, Jamie! It makes me want a wedding though… so I can theme it up! These pictures are so cute!! When are you getting your engagement pics done? Soon?

In an unrelated note, I did this Book Tag thing where you get tagged by someone and answer their questions. I chose you to tag, so if you want to, check it out. No hard feelings if you don't though 🙂

  14. lucybirdbooks says:

I like the second one especially, and I like the idea of hiding a kiss behind a book…although maybe that's a bit cheesy? Maybe it's alright if it is!

  15. These are adorable! I particularly love the couple kissing behind an open book.

  16. I randomly came across this post of yours (while I was searching for suggested children’s lit passages for our ceremony) – and wanted to share our engagement shoot at the local library with you 🙂

  17. So cute! Congratulations on your engagement and nuptials! So exciting to see my engagement photos (#3 & #4) being shared and liked!! It was such an awesome experience getting to shoot our engagement shoot with a theme we both enjoyed <3
