Hello friends new and old! I’ve made a very important decision…
This is something I’ve been working at for a year. Lots of people have made the switch from Blogger to WordPress and I’m going to be joining them after about a year of researching all my options, using WordPress and learning it inside and out for work and really just getting the balls to MAKE the switch because it is scary! I’m switching for a plethora of reasons and I know there will be some Naysayers that will be like “WAH but you are just following the new trend” or “But Blogger is rolling out SEO options”….but just understand that I’ve been using the past year to figure out what would be best for me before I made a huge change to my blog. In that year I’ve found that I like what a self hosted WordPress blog has to offer, the SEO options (this is what I do as part of my job at work!), the themes offered for WordPress and just really a whole lot of other reasons that I formulated while actually using the platform for a year for work.
I want to make this as seamless as possible but, since Blogger decided that after March 1 that I wouldn’t be able to get into my Google Follower Widget to send a message (even right now as I’m still a Blogger user) too all my followers, I realize I’m probably going to lose some of you that are connected through that widget.
I’m going to be making this switch within the next couple of days. For those of you who are connected through the Widget, you could:
* Subscribe to my RSS feed right now. I’m a little nervous about that because there is the potential to lose you all through that in the transition anyways.
* FOR THE SAFEST BET, if you are a google widget subscriber and would like to be updated with the RSS information once I go live, please fill out this Google Doc with your email address and I will send a ONE TIME email giving you the link in which you can subscribe to my feed once I’m sure that everything is working properly.
* You could simply bookmark me and then subscribe to my RSS feed after a few weeks when it looks like everything is settled.
