  1. I love that photo, the colour of the leaves is just gorgeous =)
Good luck with finding a job! I was unemployed from my graduation in July until the end of September – it was really frustrating but just stick at it and you’ll find something!

  2. I can’t wait for Meant to Be either!

I hope November turns out to be a great month for you, and you and your husband are able to find jobs. Also, I hope everything post-Sandy is working out.

  3. I can vouch for Meant To Be. That book is FANTASTICAL.

Good luck with the job search, yo.

  4. Good luck with the job hunt to you both! I’m sure you guys will find something fantastic soon, and will continue to pray for you both. November’s going to be even better than October – I’m believing for that!

  5. I’m so sorry to hear about Will, lady! Hang in there — at least it’s an opportunity for the both of you to get into something you truly love (if you weren’t doing that already)! Things will only go up from here.

  6. Oh no, I’m sorry that both your job situations are far from ideal at the moment but things will get better. On the bright side you two can spend a bit more time together.
I love this monthly recaps. October all in all seemed like a good month.

  7. Good luck on job hunting!! I can’t wait to read Meant to Be and My Beautiful Failure! They both sound so good. I’ve been really into reading Contemps lately. I usually go back and forth read a Contemp then a Paranormal or something but I just want to keep reading Contemporary right now! The A-Team is such a good song! Haven’t heard of the others. Going to have to check them out now. 🙂

  8. Oh I absolutely adore your fall photo Jamie, it’s so pretty! I can’t wait to read Every Day, so I’m glad it made it to your top reads for the month! I’m also super excited for Meant to Be as well! There’s been so many great reviews so far! I hope November is even more brilliant! 🙂

  9. Cocoa!

I’m sorry to hear about Will’s job, but I trust that you both will land on your feet. Thinking of you!

  10. I am so sorry to hear about your husband’s sudden job loss! Yikes! Here’s hoping that Christmas comes early for both of you in the form of amazing new jobs.

    Love the picture! So beautiful!

  11. Oh, I really love your idea of a “monthly rewind”. Might have to do something like this soon. Lists are always a plus! 🙂

Sucks Will lost his job! Hoping you guys make it thru this rough patch okay though! I loved Shatter Me & can’t wait to read the sequel!

  12. Jenn @ Lost in a Great Book says:

What an eventful month – here’s hoping that November brings you MORE delicious cookies, far fewer hurricanes, two outstanding jobs and lots of wonderful reads. Thanks for sharing!

  13. I LOVE this format! I stole it, Hope you don’t mind.. (i gave you credit) Also, sorry to hear about Will and his job! Just means something better is in store for both you guys!

  14. I like your cool rewind!
here is my October wrap-up. and if you have a mn, I would appreciate your help with some recommendations: http://wordsandpeace.com/2012/11/02/october-2012-wrap-up/

  15. My husband got me hooked on Ed Sheeran a couple months ago. I really like Small Bump and Lego House. Plus, the Lego House video has Rupert Grint…

  16. I love this post! You should do this every month as a link-up thing. I love getting to know more than just the books everyone is reading and this is such a great way to break it down. You are always so clever! I love that!

BTW…so glad to hear you liked the almond milk hot cocoa! My hubby recently switched because he’s lactose intolerant and we’re treading between vegan/vegetarian. I’ve been so worried about missing out on things like that, so it’s nice to hear you loved it.

Recent music love…Mumford & Sons and Matt Kearny.

  17. There is SO MUCH FUN in this post that I don’t know where to begin to comment. I could seriously talk this one up for a good hour, two hours. But I won’t do that to you. I’ll choose TWO THINGS. Just two.

I’m going to YALLFest in Charleston this weekend!! (Clap for me: my second author event!! My first was also Fierce Reads. YAY!) Both David Levithan AND Ellen Hopkins will be there. These two authors are the main reasons why I am going. (There are other fabulous authors going to be there PLUS I will meet Tara @Hobbitsies. So that ROCKS.) But I mention this because I just bought Every Day last night to have signed and I just got two Hopkins books, Crank and Triangles, to have signed. I fully expect to pass out in these two fabs authors’ presence. Not kidding. Or possibly wet my pants. Also not kidding. I tend to fangirl and get starstruck to the extreme (…I rock a mic like a vandal… haha, just kidding. That isn’t bookish at all.)

Ok, one more. You and Will will BOTH will find the perfect jobs for you and the start of your life together. It is wonky that the job thing happened when it did (RIGHT?) but WOW how strong are you two?! (RIGHT?) And when you both start your new jobs, it’ll be ANOTHER start to add to your new start. (RIGHT?) I can see good things from this because I am removed from it. I recognize that it is stressful for y’all, but I see big things for you, Jamie dear! And Will too. And Jamie + Will. You guys hang in there!!
