Book Haul 12/9 – 12/16

We got our tree & some of our ornaments this weekend so this week was about all things Christmas! It’s funny because it’s our first Christmas together and we have NOTHING — no decorations, no ornaments — so we are starting from scratch! SO YAY! So here’s my Stacking The Shelves/IMM/general book haul post.

The Miseducation of Cameron Post by Emily Danforth (from the Epic Reads ladies — thanks!)
Something Like Normal by Trish Doller (gifted from my lovely friend Erica! Thanks!! I’m so excited!)
17 & Gone by Nova Ren Suma (for review from Penguin — thanks!)

For review from Random House:

Speed of Light by Amber Kizer
Fitz by Mick Cochrane
Under the Bridge by Michael Harmon
Bad Hair Day by Carrie Harris
Love & Other Perishable Items by Laura Buzo
Sacred by Elana K. Arnold

For Review From Random House:

Meant To Be by Lauren Morrill
Not Exactly A Love Story by Audrey Couloumbis

Borrowing From Friends (thanks ladies!):

Holier Than Thou by Laura Buzo
When You Were Here by Daisy Whitney

My Secret Santa gift from the wonderful Kate at Ex LibrisIMG_0481

My Secret Santa was AWESOME and spoiled me! I got Beautiful Creatures & Hex Hall along with a Powerful Thoughts notebook, the cutest sticky pad notebook with birds and YELLOW on it (she must really know me!) and a Jane Austen notebook! WIN! I am a notebook fiend — I have reading notebooks, blog notebooks, life notebooks etc.

Then I got the coolest thing I’ve ever gotten in a Secret Santa — SPACE FOOD! Mint chocolate chip to be exact! The husband and I are going to try it soon! Kate works at NASA so sent me the space food along with NASA book marks, stickers and playing cards! SO COOL! I love getting gifts that are regional or related to my Secret Santa’s life so this was so fun and creative to me! THANK YOU SO MUCH KATE! I LOVE IT ALL!!

About Jamie

Jamie is a 32 year old married lady (with a new baby!!) who is in denial that she's actually that old to be a married lady and a mom. When she's not reading you can find her doing Pilates followed by eating ice cream, belting out Hamilton (loud and offkey) and having adventures with her husband, daughter and rescue dog.

  3. Aww, this post is full of cuteness. I love the way you decorated each pile of book and OOOOOH, space food. You should tell us how it is. I’d love to find out. Your secret santa did spoil you, I did one with my friends last week and we are going to give out gifts this week. I can’t wait! Great books this week.

  6. FEET EWWWW. I kid, I kid.

Okay dude you need to read Meant To Be like this week because it’s cute and adorable and given your love of Stephanie Perkins I know you’ll be totally into MTB. F’realsies.

AND! I also know you will love The Miseducation Of Cameron Post but you should limit yourself to one chapter a day because it’s literary and the type of book you savor and let the words sink in.

AND! AND! That NASA food just won IMM.

  7. Wow — what a great bunch of books! And those socks are AWESOME!!!!! I’m mildly envious that you got to open your Secret Santa gift — my husband told me that it’s a Christmas present, therefore it has to go under the tree until Christmas Day. *pout* Oh well, the anticipation will make it all that much more exciting, right?! Enjoy all of your new books!

  8. I’m very curious about 17 & Gone. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts. Something Like Normal is sooo good. Enjoy that one but have Kleenex on standby. 🙂 Also the NASA stuff is too cool. Awesome haul!

  9. So many fun books and SPACE FOOD omg.

Yeah, starting your own Christmas decoration supply is a weird but exciting process. Enjoy! 🙂

  10. I am SO excited for Laura Buzo! I loved both of her books and I’m glad that her debut has made it to an international audience. 🙂 I had NO idea that The Miseducation of Cameron Post was so huge. I badly want to read Somelike Like Normal.

What a great Secret Santa you had. Enjoy, and merry Christmas! 😀 Your photos brightened up my screen.

    Check out what I got!

  11. Something Like Normal is amazing! Can’t wait to hear what you think of it! I’m really looking forward to reading Meant To Be and When You Were Here, plus I need to get round to Beautiful Creatures before the movie releases! Oh my – SPACEFOOD. That is like the most epic thing of all things epic. Kate works at NASA? That is like….unbelievably cool. *jumps about* Happy Reading 😀

  12. Wow, I LOVE your haul. Each book is fantastic and I love that cute picture of you holding the books between your feet all christmas-y =D

  15. Hello, lady! Really hope you enjoy Holier Than Thou! Let’s chat when you’re done, okay? I don’t know anyone else who has read it yet and there are things that must be discussed! 🙂

  16. Wow! Great haul! Does Random House love you or what? 😉 I can’t wait to see what you think of a lot of these since many of them are on my TBR pile. Also, really loved the artful and festive way you snapped your photos.
