My Book Haul (For The Past Two Weeks)

So I originally recorded this vlog in which I talked about all of these books ANDDDD showed off my new nail polish from Julep and some yummy gourmet chocolate covered pretzels and popcorn. However, I went to edit it and the audio and my lips were not syncing AT ALL sooo that’s annoying as crap to watch. So my books had a photoshoot with my kitchen table — not nearly as exciting, I know. Sorry if it went too fast on the “Things Of Note” about each book. I didn’t want it to be TOO long up there but I kept testing out how long it took me to read it.

I’ll try next week for a vlog and let’s hope technology and I get along better. EFF YOU OUT OF SYNC VIDEO!

  1. Netflix was recently out of sync for me and it was the biggest headache ever. And while I understand that is such a #firstworldproblem. IT WAS PAINFUL JAMIE.

I am quite excited though to see your opinion on The Program and Chaos in the Stars!

    • It’s SO ANNOYING. I just fixate on how the lips aren’t matching up with the sound hahah.

The Program was SOOOO GOOD. Get to that one when you get it!

  2. YAY, you vlogged! I have never vlogged before, but people like you are amazing at this! I wish I had your mad skills O.O

Are you auto-approved for all of those Harper titles?! I requested all of them, but I haven’t gotten a response yet. Comes with being fairly new to Edelweiss? lol

I hope you enjoy all of those! Seems like you’ll be busy! 😀

    Here is my STS post!

    • Haha well I didn’t ACTUALLY vlog. I attempted to but it was out of sync so I did something else.

Yes, I am on auto-approval for those Harper titles. Hopefully you get approved soon! SO MUCH GOODNESS THEY PUT UP RECENTLY, right?!

  3. Wonderful haul Jamie! I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on Thousand Words and The Lucy Variations! Out of curiosity did you buy the two of them off Edelweiss? I couldn’t actually find them under the review section.

    Enjoy all your books!

    • I’m so excited for both of those titles. They were on every Excited For In 2013 list I had hahah. They were actually on NetGalley rather than Edelweiss!

  4. WOW I am SO beyond jealous that you got Not A Drop To Drink. I am dying to read that book! You are a very lucky lady to receive so many advanced books!

  5. Such a great haul; I really hope you enjoy all of your books.
I am a huge fan of Jaclyn Moriarty’s novels so think it’s awesome that you received her new novel.
Icons and The Lucy Variations also look really good. Happy reading! 🙂

  6. So. Many. Awesome. Books!

Wow, just wow! I can’t wait to get my hands on The Bitter Kingdom, the second book was beyond amazing. I’m also really excited for Not a Drop to Drink, it sounds like a thrilling book and I love that cover.

I hope you have fun reading all of those!!! 🙂

  7. You are so freaking good with technology. Everything you post is visually stunning. I am in awe of your skilllllllzzzzzz.

  8. It’s a shame your vlog didn’t work, I hope it does next week 🙂

I hope you start enjoying A Corner of White a little more – I LOVED it, Jaclyn is a brilliant author 🙂

  9. So clearly you have an awesome haul but I think I spent more time listening to the song than reading the words? No, just kidding, I’m a multi-tasker, I did both. But I’ll have to go listen that song about 100 more times. Awesome haul and even awesome-r video making skills. ^_^

  10. Wow, a fantastic haul this week. Or past weeks. 🙂 I haven’t read that Wintercraft Trilogy but it sounds really intriguing, I may have to find the first one to check out. I was totally under the impression that Unnatural Creatures was a collection of his short stories too… but only one are actually Neil’s? That’s strange. Happy Reading!

  11. Definitely read Born Wicked, it’s a great read. A lot of these I hadn’t heard of either but some of them look amazing. Can’t wait to see your thoughts. Happy Reading!

  12. Meep, you got THE CHAOS OF STARS! I’m very excited to read that one, as it definitely sounds like an Alexa book. The fact that it’s inspired by Egyptian mythology completely sold me on it.

  13. I’m so, so excited for The Program and The Rules for Disappearing. I didn’t like The Innocents too much, but I’m interested in This Side of Jealousy. We’ll seeee. (:

  14. So many great books! I wish to get The Program as well, looks like an amazing book!

    Happy reading!
    My haul

  15. What an awesome bunch of books! I’m so excited for the books coming out this spring. Happy reading! 🙂

  16. Bummed that I didn’t get to see your sweet face so I am crossing my fingers for next week?

Glad you loved The Program because I am really looking forward to that one and I keep hearing more and more positive things so now I’m even more excited.

I’m starting A Corner of White after I finish the book I am reading now and I’ve heard great things about it from Mandee at VeganYANerds so I am hoping I will love it.

I really want to read SYLO but I hate the cover. Something about the color combinations on that one viscerally repels me. So I don’t know if I will read it because I really HATE that cover. Maybe if it goes through a cover change? This is one time I am actually wishing for that.

I am so, SO jealous of all of you that got copies of The Lucy Variations because Sara Zarr is one of my favorite authors. I always am amused over this. I am like a guaranteed positive review and they wouldn’t send me a copy. And I requested it TOO! And I like NEVER do that. But I so hope you enjoy it and I guess I will just have to wait until it’s out!

I am also amused by how many sequels to books you have not read you got over the last two weeks. That happens to April a lot too. 😀 Wonderful haul and I look forward to seeing your thoughts on a LOT of these. 😀 *cough* Sara Zarr *cough* LOL.

  17. Wow! You got some great books there. I’m DYING to read The Chaos of Stars and The Program. I hope you enjoy those.

  18. I was hoping to get a ARC of Light but they ran out by the time I got in contact with people. Tear! But, seriously, the series is soooo good! It’s one of my favorites! Enjoy!!

  19. Aw, sorry to hear about your vlog being out of sync because I would have liked to have seen it. Your vlogs are the funnest! But your compromise was pretty good too – love that song! Out of your reads, I’m probably most excited to read In The After – I hope it does well in reviews. I hope you enjoy all your reads!!

  20. Syncing drives me NUTS with videos! I always have problems when I record on my Mac … but whenever I go to use my flipcam, the battery is dead. Murphy’s Law, I guess!

Another Little Piece is on my list …. it looks really good! I’m always looking for a good horror story! And Unnatural Creatures looks interesting. I love anything Neil Gaiman does — even if it’s just selecting books! I can’t wait to read The Lucy Variations — I have it on my shelf and it looks awesome! I love a book with music. 🙂

    Enjoy all your books, Jamie!

  21. Every single book sounded really good. I am thinking about binge reading the Gone series. I have the first four books on my shelf and they are just sitting there. I am really intriged about The Program. It’s good to hear that you really liked it, it makes me even more excited to read it.

  22. SOOO MANY! WOW, where to start girl…The Program is one I really want to try. It sounds right up my alley and has been on my TBR since I first got wind of it. Proxy and Unnatural Creatures are both ones I’m interested in, but not desperate for. I DO love short stories though. I can’t seem to resist them. Icons is high on my list of ones I hope I get to read! I LOVE this song btw! Awesome! Also, this video is too cool as a vlog option instead, if the regular vlog doesn’t work! LOVE it! Great idea! Happy reading!
Our Week in Books @Libby Blog

  23. Janelle Downey says:

How in the world do you find time to read all of these? I’m lucky if I can read 2-3 books in a month!

  24. So jealous you have Phoenix…I can’t wait to hear how it is.

  25. Such an amazing round of books! Love the video. You’re constantly doing new things which makes this blog the BEST!

  26. aww so sad i can’t watch the video as it contains music that we can’t stream in my country due to copyright laws 🙁

  27. ARGH technology can be such a pain sometimes — especially, I find, when it comes to recording videos, and editing them and such!!

However, I LOVE this way of doing a book haul. It still felt very “you” and I feel like it did a better promo/discussion starter then a lot of haul videos I’ve seen. Also, I loved that song — I’m going to have to check out the artists’ other work now too 🙂

As for the books, I squealed when I saw Star Cursed. SUCH a good series!!! I can’t wait for June so I can read what happens to the Cahill sisters, eek !

  28. Very very curious about the new Margaret Stohl novel.
