My Fave BFF-ships + A Giveaway For Morgan Matson’s New Book (AHHH!)

So I found myself with a second copy of Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson — who is one of my favorite contemporary YA authors (seriously go read Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour and Second Chance Summer) — and I figured, “why not share the love for one of my 2014 most anticipated novels with my readers???” Seriously guys. If you are not on the Morgan Matson train at this point…come aboard please! Her books are amazing and just so full of life and beauty and raw human emotions. GAH. I can’t even explain what her books do to me. And out of ALLLLL my favorite authors, I’ve seriously met most of my faves, she is the ONE I have NOT yet met and it kills me because I want to hug her for writing these books that just ME kind of books that really impact me.

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset

How cute are the sunglasses they put in with the package?? You should check out the #bffchallenge Simon Teen & Morgan Matson are doing on Instagram each month!

I started reading it yesterday and it is FABULOUS already. Since it largely revolves around friendship + a list Emily’s bff, who has mysteriously disappeared, leaves her to help her be brave and get out of her shell, I figured I’d talk about a few of my favorite bffs in literature and tv before we get to the giveaway.

In Books:

Queenie & Maddie from Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein: GAHHHH. Kiss Me Hardy. Seriously, this friendship is one of my tops.

Aria & Roar from the Under The Never Sky series by Veronica Rossi: I’d also throw Perry & Roar in here but I just really loved Aria and Roar’s friendship throughout the whole series. Plus, I always wish for more platonic female/male friendships and this one is PERFECT.

Liesel & Rudy from The Book Thief by Markus Zusak: This is one of my favorite books and GOD this friendship is just one of my favorites ever. The wonderfulness of a young friendship and it was so sweet and beautiful amidst the awfulness going on in the story.

Parker and Kat from Golden by Jessi Kirby: If anything, their friendship reminds me a little of the one going on here in Since You’ve Been Gone! Kat is the more outgoing and free spirited one and Parker is the one who could use some nudging to take chance and be wild and free!  I thought they were solid and I loved them! Also, that book….GORGEOUS.

Elise & Vicky from This Song Will Save Your Life by Leila Sales: I LOVED THEM. I want Vicky to be my friend. I loved that Vicky helped Elise become who she wanted to be but not in a “you need to change” kind of way.

Cath & Reagan from Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell: I always kind of love bff stories that start out maybe with not-so instaBFF vibes and I loved watching these two become friends.

From TV:

Christina and Meredith from Grey’s Anatomy: TWISTED SISTERS FOR LIFE. I love the way they are together and how truly they GET each other and love each other — flaws, messiness and all! I love that they are each other’s person and it’s truly been one of the most touching friendships I’ve ever watched because they so strangely fit together and I just want a bff like that.

Wallace & Veronica from Veronica Mars: I just always loved these two from the moment V saved him from the flagpole. They did an awful lot of saving each other’s asses, sleuthing but also being really good friends to each other and opening up. Some of my favorite vulnerable V moments happened with Wallace.

I also have two GROUPS of friends I loved:

1. Golden Girls — my mom and I used to watch this all the time together and when I’m an old lady I want to have friends as bitchin as them.

2. Friends — oh the Friends gang. They are just my favorite to watch ever.

So let’s get down to the giveaway!

US & Canada ONLY — sorry guys. Still no full time job so no can do. I promise an excellent international giveaway when the job fairy sees fit.

About Jamie

Jamie is a 32 year old married lady (with a new baby!!) who is in denial that she's actually that old to be a married lady and a mom. When she's not reading you can find her doing Pilates followed by eating ice cream, belting out Hamilton (loud and offkey) and having adventures with her husband, daughter and rescue dog.

  1. Just recently I read One Man Guy and absolutely adored the friendship between Alek and Becky! They are too cute!

I totally want to be like the Golden Girls when I’m old! 😀

  2. YAY MORGAN MATSON!!!! I looooooooooove her and am so freakin’ excited for her new book. It sounds like the perfect summer read. I’m a giant dork and totally hit enter on the giveaway before I read what I was supposed to do when I commented…. oops! BUT, I will add that one of my favourite BFF-ships is Karou and Zuzana from Daughter of Smoke & Bone (which I’m currently reading!)

  3. YES to Wallace and Veronica, but I also want to throw Mac in there. All three are awesome. I’m a big fan of the friendships in the Lord of the Rings, particularly Merry & Pippin and Gimli & Legolas. I also love both groups in Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother. As for ya friendships, I love Aria and Roar. Great example non-romantic male-female friendship. I also love the Gallagher Girl femships and Ryan Dean West and Joey Cosentino’s bromance in Winger (have you read that one yet, Jamie? Last I saw, you had not, and I REALLY recommend you nudge it higher on the list. So incredibly good!).

  4. Fav TV friendship… Kenzie and Bo from the SyFy show Lost Girl.

  5. Jenna & Tamara from Awkward. I love that friendship so much. It goes through its ups and downs but when it counts they’re there for each other and not afraid to each other the harsh truth!

  6. Temperance and Angela from Bones. I just started watching it recently, and I’m really enjoying it. 🙂

  7. For TV, I love Laverne and Shirley – always! They had so much fun together. In books, I actually just started reading Book One of the Ivy + Bean series and I think they are my new favorite. Opposites, but so right for each other. My daughter’s nickname is Bean so there is a bit of a connection there as well. For something further back in my history, I would probably say the sisters in Little Women. Is it cheating that they are sisters? 🙂

  8. Ashley F. says:

I recently read How to Love by Katie Cotugno and I loved the friendship between Reena and Shelby.

    Morgan Matson is AWESOME!!

  9. I think I’d have to go with Lorelai and Rory from Gilmore Girls. Even though they were mother and daughter, they still had a funny and dynamic friendship. I also like the friendship between Olivia and Huck on Scandal. That show is so amazing and twisty, but their friendship is sweet and they are always looking out for each other.

  10. I have so many favorite BFFs from book, but my all-time favorite is Ron/Harry/Hermione. Love them! 🙂 I can’t wait to read this book. I adore Morgan Matson, so this is a must-read for me. Thanks for the great giveaway! Oh, and I agree about Veronica and Wallace. I just started season one b/c somehow I missed the boat on this TV show, so I am finally watching now. Love it!!!

  11. Queenie and Maddie!!! Every time I even think about the phrase “Kiss me Hardy” I want to break down crying. That book was so good.

I also love Aria and Roar and Cath and Reagan. Reagan is hilarious and she was honestly the best thing that happened to Cath in that book. 🙂

  12. Gah, that quote from Code Name Verity almost destroyed me in this post and I didn’t even really like the book(I know, I know, I’m one of the few!).

I love the friendship between Cath & Reagan in Fangirl! It was perfect. And since I’ve been watching a lot of Gilmore Girls, I’ll go ahead and say I love all the friendships on that show–Rory & Lane, Lorelei & Sookie.

  13. For me, one of my favorite BFF-ships is between Rory and her mom Lorelai on Gilmore Girls! I just love them! 🙂

  14. I looove Morgan Matson’s books! I read Amy & Roger last summer and it was one of my few 5 stars for the remainder of the year.

My favorite group of book BFF’s would have to be the Baby-Sitters Club girls. 🙂 They’re always there for each other-even when boys, eating habits, bossiness, crying, or children get in the way.

TV is definitely Veronica/Wallace/Mac. And also Shawn & Cory from Boy Meets World. Love those guys and their bromance before bromances were popular.

  15. Hmmm…after some thinking, I’ll have to say my favorite book BFFs is definitely Samantha and Tim from My Life Next Door. I know they’re technically not BFFs in the beginning of the book, but I always see them that way, especially after I read the end of the book.

  16. How stinkin’ cute are you in that photo? Love it! The question of favorite BFFs is going to be one I will ponder all day long, so thanks for getting me thinking.

  17. I’m dying to read this book as Morgan Matson writes the most gorgeous stories! Personally, my favorite TV BFFs will always be Xander/Buffy/Willow from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I love how they are there for each other through so much, and they all grow tremendously both apart & together over the course of the series. In books, I love Kat/Parker from Golden and Queenie/Maddie from Code Name Verity, but also, Harry/Hermione and Liesel/Max (The Book Thief) have friendships that capture my heart. 🙂

  18. I am definitely with you on Queenie/Maddie… and Christina/Meredith… they both rock the best friendship ever category. In tv, some of my other faves are: Rory/Lorelei (Gilmore Girls), Dean/Sam (Supernatural), and The gang from Big Bang Theory. Books… Tris/Christina in the Divergent Series, Gansey/Ronan in the Raven Boys.

  19. I am so looking forward to this book! I love the relationship between Sam and Frodo in LOTR.

  20. I love veronica and Wallace’s platonic BFF friendship! I also like Harry and Hermione. Such a fun topic.

  21. We were just talking about BFFs on #LitLush last night! Perry/Roar was the first one I thought of, and of course Roar/Aria goes along with that as well.
I also really love the dynamics of the gang in Saving Francesca/The Piper’s Son. Melina Marchetta writes amazing relationships in general.

  22. Stephani says:

    John and Sherlock in Sherlock
Felix and Sarah in Orphan Black
Harry, Ron and Hermione in Harry Potter
Grandpa and Charlie in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Anne and Diana in Anne of Hreen Gables
These are just a few of my favorites from the tip of my fingers as I walk out the door to go teach.
Best of luck in the job hunt, may it all work out for you soon!

  23. Kara Kieran says:

I just binged on Pretty Little Liars so I would say Aria, Spencer, Emily and Hanna.

  24. Absolutely agreed! Another BFF ship I love is the one in Chaos Walking trilogy between the two main characters. I’m being as vague as possible to avoid spoilers 🙂

  25. I love Aria and Roar and Wallace and Veronica! They are the best and show how friends should take care of each other. I also just read Open Road Summer and loved Reagan and Dee together and Zoe and Olivia killed me in Maybe One Day. I can’t wait to read Since You’ve Been Gone!!

  26. I really loved Cath and Regan from Fangirl as well. That book was amazing!

  27. Christina R. says:

LOVE her books!! Her friendships are so perfect, you’re so right!!

I love Cass’ friendship with Siena in Fiona Paul’s Venom series – they’re from two different social classes, but they stick by each other and help each other and confide in each other.

    Thank you!! 🙂

  28. I loved Cath and Reagan from Fangirl. I loved how they are so different yet get along in the end.

  29. Danielle Nguyen says:

I think my all time favorite bff-ship is the girls from Pretty Little Liars. I haven’t read the books but I watch the show religiously. I love how those girls stick together, no matter what.

  30. Ari and Janco from the Study and Glass series by Maria V. Snyder. ..and CAN’T FORGET ABOUT..
Arthur and Merlin from Merlin (BBC)
They’re just two sides of the same coin.

  31. Chenise J. says:

One of my favourite friendships is the bromance between is Esposito and Ryan from tv’s Castle! They’re hilarious together but you can really see how much they support and care about each other, and have one another’s backs!

  32. The first BFF-ships that comes to my mind is Buffy and Willow from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. If you want to get real technical, I ship the whole Scooby Gang! 🙂 Okay, they had they’re not so great moments, but what friendship doesn’t?

  33. I am so excited and can’t wait to read Since You’ve Been Gone. Thank you for the giveaway. I love Friends. I watched every episode back when they originally aired. I was so sad when it ended. No other show compares to Friends.

  34. I have not jumped on the Morgan Matson train yet, sadly, but I do have second chance summer on my kindle waiting patiently for me. I was thinking of reading it while we are on our cruise in May. But then would it would be weird to read a book that takes place in the Poconos when I’m away on vacation in Bermuda? lol Maybe it will help me ease into the feeling of coming back. lol

Best friends in books are awesome. I love when books focus on friendships. I really loved Reagan and Dee from Open Road Summer. They were tight. The one that comes to mind the sharpest right now is Zoe and Olivia from Maybe One Day. I can’t even think about them without getting a little misty eyed. Their friendship is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever read. And it’s realistic, they cracked me up, and made me cry in a metter of seconds, then had me laughing again. Such a great book. So jealous you got to meet the Author not long ago!! 🙂

Oh and happy spring!! It’s gorgeous up here today so it must be beautiful down there too!

  35. Jennifer Jensen says:

Amy Pond and the Doctor! Those two…epic.
And I second your Veronica & Wallace BFF-ship. The best.
Also…Cinder and Iko!!! I LOVE IKO!
    Thanks for the giveaway 🙂

  36. Buffy and Willow! Or Willow & Xander. Or Xander & Buffy. Basically, anything from Buffy.

  37. I’m reading Since You’ve Been Gone right now and so far so excellent (obviously, it’s MoMa, was there any doubt?) Off-the-top-of-my-head favourite friendships: Sophie and Jenna from the Hex Hall series, Chubs and Ruby from The Darkest Minds. And GROUP: The Glass house gang from the Morganville vampires series.

TV is hands-down the cup-de-sac crew from Cougar Town. Also the Scooby Gang (Buffy).

  38. I just finished Maybe One Day so I ship the BFF’s Olivia & Zoe.

  39. I love friendship stories!

AND I AGREE SO HARD ABOUT THE TWISTED SISTERS. Hands down best developed friendship I have ever seen on TV. I’m going out and be all pretentious for a bit here because my best friend and I are like that. We have been calling us each other’s “person” for a while now, she’s my Meredith and I’m her Christina 🙂 And sometimes when something happens with the Twisted Sisters I can cry harder because it reminds me SO much of her.

    Fave friendships from books:
-Will and Jem from The Infernal Devices (ALL THE AWARDS, ALL THE TEARS, ALL THE FEELS).
-Rose and Lissa from Vampire Academy (MY HEART!)
-Queenie and Maddie from CDV (akbfalkfaklnfa 🙁 why)
-Ronan/Gansey/Adam/Noah from The Raven Boys (feeeelssss)
-Neerja, Gigi and Bea from Smart Girls Get What They Want (they make me so happy)
-Harry, Ron and Hermione from HP (Golden Trio ftw)

    Fave friendships from TV:
    – Monica, Phoebe, Rachel, Joey, Ross and Chandler from FRIENDS
    – Esposito and Ryan from Castle
    – Leslie and Ann from Parks&Recreation
    – Viva, Holli, Saz and Amber from Some Girls (<33)

  40. Favorite BFF’s in a book would probably have to be the girls in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants books!
TV BFF’s? Probably either Brooke & Haley from One Tree Hill or Casey & Ashleigh from GREEK!

  41. I love the relationship between the two main characters in Cherry Money Baby. They are total opposites and I love when bff characters are like that!

  42. One of my favorite book bffs is Juliette and Kenji from the Shatter Me series 🙂

  43. As far as TV, I love the Friends gang. Also Angela, Reanne, and Ricky from My So Called Life. In books I love Jess and Hope from the Sloppy Firsts series. Thanks for the chance to win! I’m definitely excited for this book.

  44. One of my very favorite tv friendships started more adversarial but as seasons went on, these two had each other’s backs and their banter was the best: Rory and Paris from Gilmore Girls.

  45. I really love Aria and Roar’s relationship, too! I just finished reading Into The Still Blue, and am kinda floored by how well it was written without any love triangle mixed in 🙂

  46. Definitely Cath and Reagan from Fangirl! I haven’t read a Morgan Matson book, but I definitely intend to fix this….now.

  47. Hmmm… Well, I just finished Lola and the Boy Next Door, and I LOVED the friendship between Lola and Cricket! I’m reading Open Road Summer right now and Dee and Reagan are adorable BFFs! 🙂

  48. Queenie & Maddie, Juliette & Kenji, and Will Herondale & Jem Carstairs from The Infernal Devices are my fav friendships from books.
I’m really excited about this book and can’t wait to read it! I love Morgan Matson and I adore the cover to her books as well.

  49. I DO love Wallace & Veronica. They have one of the most awesome friendships. Just the other day, I was reminded of the episode where she kept making him snickerdoodles for spirit week or whatever and she’s so hardcore NOT a school spirit type girl, but for him, she was. So adorable. I loved their intereactions in the movie, too, and how Wallace’s new role @ Neptune High mirrored him working in the office at getting info for Ronnie when they were in school. I didn’t realize I had so much to say about it 🙂 Also, Mac. Love me some Mac.
Other friendships, I love Jane & Elizabeth in Pride & Prejudice, though they’re sisters, they’re also best friends.

  50. Betsy and Tacy in the Betsy-Tacy series. The best of BFFs.

  51. I LOVE the friendship between Quentin+Ben+Radar in John Green’s book, Paper Towns. It cracks me up!
TV-wise, I may have to say the 10th Doctor and Donna Noble from Doctor Who 😀

  52. Is is cheating to just say all the friendships in the Morganville Vampires series? I love all those characters so much! Thanks for the giveaway!

  53. Oh man! I could go on for TV bff ships. But I am goin to say Merlin and Arthur. I absolutely loved the show Merlin. Those two definitely made me cry from laughing so much more times than I can count.

  54. I love-love-love the friendship between Raffaela and Taylor in Jellicoe Road. So deep and honest and special!

  55. Sandy Steckler says:

I liked the friendship in Thelma and Loiuse. I didn’t like the ending so much but they were there for each other no matter what.

  56. Thanks so much for this giveaway! I want this book SO bad! I read Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour and loved it and know she is an author I want to read every book by! I just recently got Second Chance Summer so I’m excited to read it! And this one… THAT COVER is gorgeous the typography and picture and ice cream 🙂 It looks and sounds so good!!! — Any who friendships, I love the sisterhood of the traveling pants, these girls have such a great friendship! I also love Harry Potter friendships, both Ron, Harry, and Hermione, and Lupin, Sirius, and James! And Kenji and Juliette from the shatter me series! They have such a great platonic friendship!! For shows, Friends definitely and How I Met Your Mother is also so great! I’m so excited to read Code Name Verity based on your recommendation! I have it out from the library right now so I really hope I’ll get to it before I have to send it back :/ (referencing your mood reader post!) I love your blog 😀

    • Sigh yeah the library books are so hard with being a mood reader! Hope you enjoy Code Name Verity..takes a little bit to get into (seriously I would have maybe put it down early on if it wasn’t for book club) but it’s amazing!

  57. Ashley Norris says:

I just discovered Amy & Rogers Epic detour (it’s quickly approaching the top of my TBR pile) and Since You’ve Been Gone has been on my “BOOKS I NEED…THAT HAVEN’T BEEN RELEASED YET” wish list on Amazon since I heard about it.

(If I were Dauntless, I would jump on the Morgan Matson train, but since I’m Amity, I’ll wait peacefully until the train comes to a complete stop before boarding =)

  58. I picked up The Sea of Tranquility based on your book talk and I LOVED the dynamic between Drew and Nastya…I agree with you about wanting to see more platonic male/female friendships and I think this one was pretty wonderful.

    • This makes me SO happy that you did!! And yes..once they hit their friendship stride it was just such a lovely relationship!!

  59. You can’t beat the friendships in Harry Potter!!

  60. The first book friendship I thought of was Harry/Ron/Hermione from the Harry Potter series. But that seems kind of obvious. I also adore Anne and Diana from Anne of Green Gables…they’re kindred spirits, after all! Thanks for the giveaway (and making it open to Canadians!)

  61. I know this is probs cheating, but I’m going with Sam & Dean Winchester from Supernatural. I know they’re brothers, but still! BFFs they are!

  62. YAYYY for friendships <3 My favorite friendship is probably Queenie and Maddie from CNV!!! I love a lot of tv friendships also but my favorites are the group in How I Met Your Mother and I LOVED Beckett & Castle's friendship in the first few seasons!! I haven't read any of Morgan Matson's books yet, but I have Second Chance Summer on my list to read … eek, I'm scared about the crying 😛

  63. Cinder and Iko, Juliette and Kenji, and definitely the Golden Girls.

  64. My favorite TV friendship would be the gang from Friends and Walter and Astrid from Fringe (great show to binge watch on Netflix!) You named my favorite BFFs from books!

  65. My favorite book BFFs would have to be Zero and Stanley from Holes. I remember thinking, when I was a kid, that I wanted a friendship like they had! My favorite TV show BFFs, currently, are Ann Perkins and Leslie Knope from Parks and Rec. I just love how Leslie loves all of her gal pals! There needs to be more honest girl friendships in the world rather than girls hating each other!

  66. I totally agree with Liesel and Rudy! Here comes the waterworks again! I also really love the friendship between Harry, Ron and Hermione in Harry Potter as well as Cinder and Iko. Anne and Diana from Anne of Green Gables and definitely everyone from Friends! There’s a reason why the show is called that haha. I think we definitely need some more strong friendships in YA which is why I’m super excited for this book (other than the fact it’s Morgan Matson and both of her previous books have made me cry and swoon) because sometimes it just feels like the sexual relationships take over and for me, I always feel like my friendships are the most important. Love this post and very excited for this! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts! 🙂

  67. It’s all about V and Wallace. Love those two!

  68. A lot of my favorite friendships are in the Ruby Oliver books – Ruby’s friendships with Meghan, Hutch, and Nora are all interesting and unique. I loved the romance in those books, but I loved the scenes of great friendship about as much!

  69. Harry, Ron and Hermione. Love this friendship!!! I also agree with you about Rudy and Liesel. So special…

  70. I love the friendships between Rachel and Monica on Friends; Meredith and Cristina on Grey’s Anatomy; all the girls on Sex and the City. For some reason I am drawing a blank on books right now! But I do love the friendship between Jacqueline and Erin in “Easy” and Rachel and Ethan in “Something Borrowed.”

  71. Since You’ve Been Gone sounds so awesome, I definitely need to read more YA novels with awesome friendships in them! If I have to choose an awesome friend relationship in a YA novel, I think I’m going to go with Kenji and Juliette. Mainly because Juliette is damn annoying (most of the time) and Kenji keeps her in line (and Kenji is awesome!). Thanks for the giveaway and I’m super glad to see that you’re enjoying Since You’ve Been Gone! 😀

  72. Lorelei and Rory from Gilmore Girls!

  73. Fav book friendship- QUEENIE AND MADDIE!! <3 them so much!!

  74. My favorite bff-ship is Ward and Simmons in Agents of SHIELD

  75. I love Beth and Jennifer’s friendship in Rainbow Rowell’s book Attachments. They are hilarious and fun, but also there for each other when things are rough. Such awesome BFFs to read about!

I also agree with all your favorite TV friendships, LOVE all those shows! Other faves of mine are Ann and Leslie from Parks & Recreation, and the whole gang from How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory 🙂

  76. I would have to say Aria and Roar…then Perry and Roar. I loved the friendships they had separately.

  77. I love, love, love the relationship between Roar and Aria in the Under the Never Sky trilogy!

  78. I absolutely LOVE Blair and Serena’s bff-ship, from Gossip Girl! No matter what, they always got each others backs! 🙂

  79. I would have to say Queenie and Maddie for sure. Also Juliette and Kenji from the Shatter Me series! Their relationship was one of my favorite things about Ignite Me!

  80. Shirley Mak says:

I just finished Maybe Someday, so RIDGE AND SYDNEY FORVER

  81. This probably sounds like a cliche by now but Queenie and Maddie via Code Name Verity will always rank very high on my list of favourite bookish friendships. Thanks for the giveaway!

  82. My favorite TV friendship would have to be Brooke Davis & Peyton Sawyer from One Tree Hill! (:

  83. One of my favorite bookish ships is Rose & Rozycka from Rose Under Fire. & I have to agree with you about Meredith/Cristina from Grey’s — they’re just the best!

  84. YES! Meredith and Christina is one of my all time BFF ships on TV. I just read Open Road Summer and the friendship between Raegan and Dee was phenomenal!

  85. Testing comment reply

  86. Ahh this sounds so good! My favourite friends are definitely the Trio from Harry Potter! Also a big fan of the Friends gang as well.

  87. I think my favorite book couple is Gemma and Kartik from A Great and Terrible Beauty. SO MANY FEELS.
    I can’t. Even. GAH.

  88. I basically agree with all of your choices…Queenie and Maddie! ARIA AND ROAR! Man, I’m dying for more girl/guy friendships like theirs.

  90. Jess and Cece in New. Girl
    Caroline and Stefan in TVD

  91. Some of my fave TV BFFs are definitely Jess and Cece from New Girl and Howard and Raj from The Big Bang Theory because they keep me laughing! And in books my FAAAAVE BFFs will always be Roar and Aria from the Under The Never Sky series! Love them!

  92. TV BFF: Zoe & Lavon in Hart of Dixie!

  93. I love the friendship between America and Marlee (I think I misspelled her name) in The Selection series.

And, of course, the four leading ladies in the Gallagher Girls series.
