Odds & Ends

  • I love this article about self-care! Sometimes self care IS a bubble bath or something totally Instagrammable and pretty but sometimes it totally isn’t for me!

  • My breakfast staple in the summer is smoothies and then in the Fall/Winter I get too cold so my staples become either eggs of some sort or oatmeal. I was just thinking how bored I am with my oatmeal and then this post shows up in my reader!

  • We are trying to figure out something cute to get Will’s mom for Christmas that is Riley-related/being a Grandma related because we KNOW she will love it. Any ideas?? I saw personalized necklaces like this or this that are cute on Etsy or maybe something like this?    Maybe as a cute extra a personalized ornament like this or this? I would love to know if any of you mamas did anything that was a huge hit for the grandmas!

  • Speaking of First Christmases, my mom always used to get us a new ornament every Christmas which I definitely cherish now so I want to start the same tradition for Riley. I’ve been looking at “Baby’s First Christmas” ornaments and I like these but can’t pick between them and she certainly doesn’t need more than one. Help!  Ornament 1 // Ornament 2 // Ornament 3 //Ornament 4// Ornament 5

  • I just got the coziest pullover from Target! I know, I know..as you can tell from the last few of these posts I HAVE A PROBLEM. I went in to exchange something and walked out with this also. To BE FAIR…it was $15.

Happy Sunday!! What are you all reading this weekend?? How was your weekend?? Score any Black Friday deals??

  1. Ooo, I’m going to have to check out that list of Christmas movies on Netflix! I’m obsessed with those type of movies this time of year. I record almost all of the Hallmark, UP, and Lifetime ones! With an ION or Freeform one thrown in here and there!
For the ornaments for Riley… either 2, 4, or 5!
I’m going to try to get back into reading Coming Up For Air! I’ve been binging the Hundred Oaks series, but I’m having a hard time getting into this one.
My weekend was good! Watched a lot of movies! Mostly Christmas ones, but also rented Everything Everything from Redbox! And then went to Dollar General later at night and scored some leggings for me and some warmer clothes for my auntie (she’s on blood thinners, so she gets COLD). Their clothes were 70% off!
Also dying to know who my TBTBSanta is lol.

  2. My MIL starts everyday by sitting quietly and having a cup of tea so we made her a photo mug last year. She LOVES it. I’ve had several necklaces with Js on them for my little but they often get hooked on my clothes.
We have an ornament tradition where we get ornaments as souvenirs or to mark events. We put our tree up on thanksgiving night and since we have all those ornaments it’s a really fun time to reflect and be grateful for all our experiences. I love that when J moves out, she’ll have a start to her own tree and can take a part of her family history with her.

PS- I really appreciated the motherhood post but forgot to comment.

  3. Cheesy rom-coms are my sweet spot. I am overjoyed by the Countdown to Christmas on the Hallmark Channel. Five new movies this week, and there was one that had one of the best endings I have seen from Hallmark to date (Finding Santa). I believe I shed some happy tears, it was that good.

  4. I LOVE Hallmark holiday movies as well. Here is a drinking game to go with them that some friends and I are planning on trying out this year. This could add a whole different element to your holiday movie viewing: http://www.countryliving.com/entertaining/news/a40893/hallmark-drinking-game/?src=socialflowFB

  5. I have gotten so many gifts from Etsy over the years, and they are always a hit. Have you looked at getting Riley’s thumbprint made into a necklace for her (if she likes and wears jewelry)? Pictures of your child are another popular item for grandparents. Fracture (https://fractureme.com/) does amazing things with your photos for something different. Good luck!

  6. Oh! Those romance reads! I need something to bring back to me the magic of love! I might be having a real tough time with my romantic relationship right now but I think a little push from the heart will bring back everything that is slowly fading away.

  7. I am so excited to watch these Christmas movies! Thanks for the list 🙂 Ornaments 1 and 4 are my favorites! Makes me want to have a little, too. My mother-in-law gives us a new ornament every year, but this is the first year we actually put up a tree. I REALLY loved your Harry Potter Gift Guide this week (actually I just love all your posts!).
