TO READ
The Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager (Amazon // Goodreads)
Publication Date – July 10th 2018
Why I Added It To My To-Be-Read list: I really enjoyed Final Girls by Riley Sager so I definitely was adding this to my list. Plus a summer camp setting!
What It’s About: Emma was one of the last ones to see her fellow cabin mates at summer camp before they went missing sneaking out of their bunk. Years later, as an adult, the wealthy owner of the newly reopened camp asks her to return as the art instructor. Emma agrees and figures it would be a way to find out what happened to her friends all those years ago but danger mounts as she gets closer to the truth.
The Lost Girls of Camp Forevermore by Kim Fu ( Goodreads // Amazon)
Publication Date- February 13th 2018
Why I Added It To My To-Be-Read list: Apparently I was on a “I love summer camp setting books” kick because I added this one and the above the same day.
What It’s About: Tells the story of 5 young girls who get stranded on an island during an overnight kayaking trip while at their summer sleepaway camp and chronicles their lives in the aftermath.
Devils Unto Dust by Emma Berquist (Amazon // Goodreads)
Publication Date: April 10, 2018
Why I Added It To My To-Be-Read list: Super into the idea of a Western horror novel.
What It’s About: “Ten years ago, a horrifying disease began spreading across the West Texas desert. Infected people—shakes—attacked the living and created havoc and destruction. No one has ever survived the infection. Daisy Wilcox, known as Willie, has been protecting her siblings within the relatively safe walls of Glory, Texas. When Willie’s good-for-nothing father steals a fortune from one of the most dangerous shake-hunters in town, she finds herself on the hook for his debt. With two hunters, including the gruff and handsome Ben, to accompany her, she sets out across the desert in search of her father. But the desert is not kind to travelers, and not everyone will pass through alive.“
The English Wife by Lauren Willig ( Amazon // Goodreads)
Publication Date: January 2018
Why I Added It To My To-Be-Read list: I *think* I saw Leah read and love it and when I checked it out it looked like something I’d totally be into!
What It’s About: ” Annabelle and Bayard Van Duyvil live a charmed life: he’s the scion of an old Knickerbocker family, she grew up in a Tudor manor in England, they had a whirlwind romance in London, they have three year old twins on whom they dote, and he’s recreated her family home on the banks of the Hudson and renamed it Illyria. Yes, there are rumors that she’s having an affair with the architect, but rumors are rumors and people will gossip. But then Bayard is found dead with a knife in his chest on the night of their Twelfth Night Ball, Annabelle goes missing, presumed drowned, and the papers go mad. Bay’s sister, Janie, forms an unlikely alliance with a reporter to uncover the truth, convinced that Bay would never have killed his wife, that it must be a third party, but the more she learns about her brother and his wife, the more everything she thought she knew about them starts to unravel. Who were her brother and his wife, really? And why did her brother die with the name George on his lips“
TO WATCH
Why I Added It To My To Watch Queue: I love everything time travel-y! Also has anyone watched this?? Why have I not heard anyone talking about it?? Or did I miss it because of pregnancy/having a baby??
What It Is About: “Hundreds of years in the future, the last surviving humans discover a way of sending consciousness back through time, directly into people in the 21st century — “travelers,” who assume the lives of seemingly random people. They’re also secretly working as teams to perform missions in order to save humanity from a terrible future. Armed only with their knowledge of history and an archive of social media profiles, the travelers — who include an FBI agent, a single mother and a college student — discover that 21st-century relationships are as much of a challenge as their high-stakes missions.”
Why I Added It To My To Watch Queue: I heard about this while I was busy in the midst of pregnancy/having Riley life and I made a mental note to check it out but consider it officially added to my to-watch list. SOOOO sounds like a “me” show.
What It Is About: “In 1958 New York, Midge Maisel’s life is on track- husband, kids, and elegant Yom Kippur dinners in their Upper West Side apartment. But when her life takes a surprise turn, she has to quickly decide what else she’s good at – and going from housewife to stand-up comic is a wild choice to everyone but her. ”
Why I Added It To My To Watch Queue: Unless it’s a book-to-movie adaptation I’ve been pretty out of the movie loop but I’ve heard soooo much amazing stuff about Lady Bird and had to add it to my to-watch list.
What It Is About: “A warm, affecting comedy about a high school senior (Saoirse Ronan) who must navigate a loving but turbulent relationship with her strong-willed mother over the course of her eventful and poignant senior year of high school. ”

Leah @ The Pretty Good Gatsby says
YESSSS THAT WAS ME! Seriously, that book has it all: Scandal! Murder! Forbidden romance! Secret identities! Multiple continents! Vanderbilt-esque old money families! I can’t believe it was my first novel of hers. I was MAJORLY impressed.
Hahaha, I was thinking about doing a new addition of a recently added post and one of the books I immediately thought of was the new Riley Sager! Final Girls was excellent and the moment I finished I raced to add this one to my To Read list.
I’ve only watched one episode of Travelers and have been curious about going back for more, but never got around to it. I think I liked the idea more than the actual show. I mean, it was just the first episode so maybe I was too quick to pass judgement – especially when all the world-building/explanation that needs to go into a time-travel/sci-fi show.
The Marvelous Mrs Maisel is in my watchlist too! …and another show I just never got around to actually watching. I’ve heard REALLY wonderful things about it though.
