Happy Superbowl Sunday! I’m not really an NFL girl (gimme baseball, college football, soccer, basketball any day) but our Eagles are in it so gotta get behind our home team! It’s been fun watching them to be honest. We shall see how it goes. I’m just excited for the food and then This Is Us is after it and I’m probably going to die because it’s going to be so sad. SO SAD.
- I realized that in the past 8 years of blogging I have NEVER done a Q&A! EVER. If you have a question for me — about blogging, my life, books/need a recommendation, a random thing you’ve always wondered, ANYTHING — ask me and I will answer…either in roundup post or, if it’s a question I have a lot to say about, a full post. Feel free to do it anon or put your name/blog and I will shout you out! Here’s the form!
- Will and I are in need of a date night so we are going to try (babysitter pending!!) to do a Valentine’s Day date the weekend after (our tradition is to skip the actual day and stay in and have breakfast for dinner!) so I’ve been looking for something cute to wear that’s more on the affordable side! What do you think about the following?? HALP! All the dresses I just bought are super casual and I’m bored of all the nicer dresses I own or they don’t fit my postpartum body quite yet!
Floral Skater Dress // Pink Dress from Asos// Express black lace dress // // Pleated Trapeze Mini Dress from Asos
- SPEAKING OF DRESSES! I was in H&M this week looking for some leggings for Riley and I saw this hooded sweatshirt dress!!! How do we feel about this trend?? Because then when I was on Express’s website I saw the one on the right (which I like better) and I feel like I AM HERE FOR THIS. I didn’t try the H&M one on because I was babywearing Riley & I didn’t feel like going through the hassle but it seemed cozy though I think just from pictures the Express one looks more flattering than the H&M one did in person. Cute & casual look or is it a big thumbs down?
- OMG A MARIO CART APP FOR YOUR PHONE??!?! Bye bye productivity and sleep!
- Omg this week’s episode of Grey’s was so intense (love me some Miranda Bailey) and this article explains so much of why it was such a great episode and how it dissected something that makes me rage and Will had to listen to my feminist rant about how this is a problem about how men dismiss women so easily! Even if you don’t watch Grey’s I HIGHLY rec this article! I always love how well this show tackles some pretty serious issues SO MUCH. I know most people think it’s a soapy medical drama, and it can be, but oh man does it tackle some hard things VERY WELL.
- In need of a book club but can’t find any near you or don’t feel like leaving your house? 14 online book clubs to join right now!
- 5 Signs Your Child Already Loves Reading — relevant to my life! Riley is too young to know for sure but she definitely loves when we sit down and read so hopefully she will be a girl after my own heart when it comes to reading!
- This popped for me on Pinterest this week and I needed this read as it’s super relevant to my life right now. It is REALLY hard to be productive when you are super tired.

They are all great but that red dress really pops. Going to check out that article of signs of your kid already loving reading. Fun.

Right? I think it’s so eye-catching. I just hope it looks as flattering on me!! My postpartum body is all sorts of different these days despite being at my pre-baby weight….which I don’t get lol

I’m obsessed with all things floral. Like, it’s a little ridiculous how much of my wardrobe is covered in flowers. The other pink dress is SUPER cute too!! (& crazy cheap which is a-okay in my book!)
I love sweatshirts/hoodies. I live for dresses. I should be all about the sweatshirt dress trend but…I don’t know. They all seem so shapeless? Boxy? 🙁 I guess they’re just not for me. There are some instagrammers & bloggers I follow who totally rock them though! I have a feeling I would look more People of Walmart than chic and fashion-y.

RIGHT? Floral is my fave…that and stripes is basically the extent of “patterns” in my closet. YES…the price on that pink dress is just too good. Maybe I just need to get both lol.
OKAY that’s how I was feeling about the sweatshirt because I feel like anything that is shapeless doesn’t typically look good on me. I feel like I’m much more drawn to the one on the model because it looks great on her but she’s also like tall and super thin and also probably they have it pinned and crap for the picture so it looks as flattering as possible. I mean, I figure if it looks terrible I can always return it! I’m always sad when trends that I love don’t work for me. Like peplum tops…I love them but they look terrible on me.

Thank you! I used to wear red A LOT when my hair was more brown and it always looked really good but I barely have anything red anymore! But I LOVE it. God now I’m thinking about my favorite red trench I owned in college with my black hair lol

I like all of the dresses, but I really love the pink ASOS dress. The model is pretty pale – I don’t think you should rule it out 🙂

It sold out before I could get it *sobs*
