Library Pulls & Cabinets For Your Home – Retail Therapy

Retail Therapy is a feature here at The Perpetual Page-Turner book blog  in which I combine my love for bookish things and shopping. Each time I’ll feature bookish accessories, bookish themed items, bookish goodies or gifts that are perfect for that bookish person in your life.

I’ve been very sporadic with this feature since I started it in August — partly due to laziness and partly feeling like there are too many features like this lately and so maybe it’s not a good use of my time as it may be redundant. But nonetheless, I am a freaking shopoholic so I must share when I find something I love.

I was cruising Anthropologie, who always seems to be good for a random bookish item, and came across this library pull for your drawers.

I’m a sucker for vintage and quirky drawer pulls and hardware and this just brings out my inner interior design bug. What a subtle way to incorporate your love for books into your decor than adding something that reminds you of those library card catalogs. What a cute way to add some bookish style to your home pretty inexpensively and subtly!

I was curious after I saw these library pulls to see if anyone sold cabinets or drawers that looked like vintage card catalogs and what do you know! Lots of people are selling drawers and cabinets that like look like an antique library card catalog. The one I found is from BBC America Shop but you could probably google “library card catalog” and find a slew of them like I did.

What do you think? Would you buy these?

Bookish Purses – Retail Therapy

Last Retail Therapy post was such a daydream post with those bookish tubs and jacuzzi but this one is so something I’m considering buying.

Today I’m featuring these bookish purses from Rebound Designs. They are all mostly made with recycled book covers that were either damaged or going to be thrown away.

I love this lovely Pride & Prejudice purse as a huge fan of the book AND because I am OBSESSED with the color yellow.

Or what about this Dracula book cover purse?

Or an Emma book purse?

I think the only downside, being a member of the “big ass bag brigade” because I need to fit books and my Nook in it, is that this purse looks a little small for what I normally use. BUT I think I may just have to get over that because these are WAY too awesome and stylish and would be such a great conversational piece I’m sure!

Check out her Etsy store for more bookish purses!

If I get one (because you know the funds for such things may be an issue with all the wedding spending), I’ll be sure to let you all know! I may just add it to my Christmas wishlist! What do you think of these?? Are you going to be hinting to your significant others that this purse is the perfect bookish gift for you?

Bookish Buttons – Retail Therapy (2)

Retail Therapy is a new feature here at The Perpetual Page-Turner book blog in which I combine my love for bookish things and shopping. Each time I’ll feature bookish accessories, bookish themed items,  bookish goodies or gifts that are perfect for that bookish person in your life. From time to time I might throw in something random that I’m really wanting that might not be book- related…because I have a serious shopping habit and my boyfriend won’t support it like I know you all will 😛 At this point I’m not sure if it will be a weekly thing or a bi-weekly or just a spontaneous thing…we will see. If you want to join me in sharing fabulous bookish goodies…feel free to link me and let me know in the comments so I can check it out!

My first Retail Therapy post featured amazing bookish postcards of Penguin classics.   This week I found some bookish buttons and pins that I thought were cute. I don’t typically have a use for buttons like this but I do find that I love putting them on my beach bag or my bag I take to the library with me.

I found all of these buttons on Cafepress. Check out all there book buttons and pins.

Now isn’t this the truth? A gift for any extreme bookworm or book blogger because we all know this is true… *looks at piles and boxes full of books* WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE DON’T RUN OUT OF BOOK SPACE?!?
Dude. Don’t judge. I wear a bib so to catch drooling.

A great button to give as a gift to all of your bookish friends who love the classics. I am proud to read dead people.

Don’t pretend you aren’t. I KNOW YOU ALL. Pretty much a safe bet as a gift to give to any bookworm. Although…it scares me when some people forget that they are in fact fictional. YOU CANNOT MARRY THEM OR PROCREATE no matter how much you love them…just as an FYI. How I do love my fictional men in literature though.

Have you loved your librarian lately? Get this gift for your librarian because it’s true. And check out all the other librarian buttons. It was hard to pick one.

Great button for Banned Books Week.
I so so so sooo wanted this to be a button but it’s only a magnet. I think Anna from Anna Reads should probably buy these as gifts for all of her book club members.

Retail Therapy (1) – New Feature Right Hurrrr

This first time around I’m going to showcase something that I found when I was shopping at Anthropologie this past week in Georgetown on my little vacation. This was actually what inspired me to start this feature after thinking about doing it for a few months! I have sooo many bookish goodies to share with you but it made the most sense to start with this one first.

I LOVE sending cute postcards to people so I about had a heart attack when I saw these because I know they’ll be perfect to send to all my bookish friends! They are a collection of 100 different postcards that feature a different title from Penguin’s collection of classic paperbacks. I am love with all things vintage-y and I do love me some classics so I honestly fell in love with these. I took them out of the box when I was there and the stock is very sturdy and not flimsy. I really want to figure out a way to incorporate these into my wedding next summer but we will see!  Some of the ones that I saw when I took them out of the box were Wuthering Heights, The Great Gatsby and Tender is the Night. And not going to lie…I really love the box they come in.

You can buy these bookish postcards at Anthropologie for $25. Be sure to put me on your postcard list if you buy these! 😛

*EDIT* Thanks to Chachic from Chachic’s Book Nook I’ve found out that these are cheaper from the Book Depository
