Retail Therapy: The Travel Edition

Oh man…it’s been like a mega long time since I did one of these posts (the last one was my droolworthy Throne of Glass series edition back in the fall).

I figured it might be fun, since I’m currently on vacation, to share with you some of the wanderlust-inspired things that are currently sitting on my wishlist on Etsy and elsewhere.

I have a TON of wall hangings and stuff on my wishlist (as if I have THAT may walls), travel inspired and bookish alike, so I know it would be hard for me to choose but these are the travel-themed ones that have been sitting in my Coveting Like Woah wishlist on Etsy for a while.

Retail Therapy: In Need Of Cute Mugs/Tea Cups

So a long time ago (circa 2011-2012) I used to have this series on here called Retail Therapy but I let it fall to the wayside like many other reoccurring posts I used to do. I reevaluated for a while and I tried to save it again in 2014 and did it a whopping ONE TIME then and so far in 2015. So, let’s maybe go for more than once in 2015…okay self? Because I genuinely love doing these posts…I just am bad at remembering to do them.

Since getting married I’ve had to start a new collection of mugs because all the mugs I used in my life were ones from home and I’m pretty sure my stepdad wouldn’t have been happy if I took them all with me. We got a small set that came with our plate set and my sweet friend Ginger got us cute Mr. & Mrs. mugs and I had maybe one or two assorted ones from the years or as gifts. We need more — especially with how much we go through them with my tea habit and Will’s coffee habit. I miss the eclectic mix of mugs from my childhood — The Beatles mug I got my stepdad one Christmas, some of my mom’s old mugs or even the ones that were her and my dad’s from when they were still married, or the mugs from various travel destinations went to. I miss all my mugs that all have these great stories to them!

However, I’m ready to start my own collection and I’m on the prowl. Please share with me your favorite mugs or places to buy mugs! PS. How are Target’s mugs?? I feel like they are always cute but how is the quality?

I love this mug from Gillian’s Society 6 shop! My Throne of Glass series feels are all amped up just looking at it!!! I tried to hint to Will that I wanted this but picking up on my hints is something he needs work on.

This one is from Bookworm Boutique on Society 6 which has allll sorts of cute bookish mugs and I had a hard time just featuring just one because I wanted lots of them. But I like this one because reading past my bedtime is likely why I am in need of caffeine.

Retail Therapy: Valentine’s Day Edition

So a long time ago (circa 2011-2012) I used to have this feature called Retail Therapy but I let it fall to the wayside like many other features I used to do — which is fine with me because I don’t want to do things I’m not passionate about anymore. I reevaluated for a while and I tried to save it again in 2014 and did it a whopping ONE TIME. So, let’s maybe go for more than once in 2015…okay self? Because I genuinely love doing these posts…I just am bad at remembering to do them.

So, Valentine’s Day? Will and I never really “celebrate” it though last year he surprised me with early fan event tickets to see the Veronica Mars movie (so our date wasn’t technically ON Valentine’s Day but a couple weeks later). I think this year we MIGHT go get Mexican food at our favorite place. WE SHALL SEE.

But every Valentine’s Day I think about how I love being my OWN Valentine’s Day date. I mean, Will is great and thoughtful but pretty much I am my own best V-day date because we don’t really go all out for Valentine’s Day. LET’S BE REAL. Sometimes you just have to treat yo self.

So if I were going to be my own Valentine this year, this is what I’d gift myself with and how I’d spend my night. You’ll see it’s VERY low-key!

Treat Yo Self Valentine's Day

1. Mickey & Minnie I Love You socks, $1.90: I always like to buy cute socks for holidays and I love these as my V-day socks. Gotta keep those feet warm!

2. Cupcake wine: I’m not a fancy wine drinker so my go to is either the Cupcake brand or Yellowtail. I really want to try the angel food wine that Cupcake has!

3. Pizza Is My Valentine tote: I thought this was so cute and, um, I’m going to be eating pizza on my dream V-Day date.

4. Sheswai nail polish: My nails deserve a little TLC while I watch a movie.

5. Amelie: This is one of my favorite movies of all time and makes me happy so I’d definitely be watching it on my date.

6. Deep Steep Passionfruit + Guava bubble bath: I LOOOOOVE bubble baths and I love reading in the bathtub. I would be taking the longest bubble bath with my glass of wine and my book. (I love their sugar scrub in this scent too)

7. Thesis Strawberry Dessert Face Mask: TLC is all part of the game here and a facial that is pretty much like dessert? YUP.

8. Soy Book Lover Trashy Romance candle: Setting the mood!

9. CUPCAKES!!: Gotta have dessert, yo! This is a white chocolate pretzel cupcake!

10. Mine Til Midnight by Lisa Kleypas: This would be my pick for my Valentine’s Day reading — a historical romance I haven’t read! Hope it’s super swoony!

11. Cute jammies: I’m going to be lounging and all comfortable after my bubble bath so I need some cute jams.

Tell me your ultimate “Treat Yo Self” Valentine’s Day date!! Into any of the stuff I posted?

Retail Therapy Is Back!

So a long, long time ago I used to have this feature called Retail Therapy but I let it fall to the wayside like many other features I used to do — which is fine with me because I don’t want to do things I’m not passionate about anymore. So I let it go for a while but lately, as I reevaluate things for this blog in 2014, I’ve decided that I’d like to bring it back and breathe some fresh air into it. Originally it was just for bookish items and there will still be some of that but I’d like to really include anything I want or, after doing my book inspired Halloween costumes post, maybe more things based off of of books — like getting into the style of a character or things I would buy that character etc.

This edition of Retail Therapy comes right smack dab in the middle of snowstorm Hercules. LOL. I still can’t get over the fact that they named a snow storm Hercules. Anyways, I want to pine for things to keep me warm during what seems like it is going to be a KILLER winter in 2014. No seriously it’s supposed to feel like -2 out.

Cold Weather Must Haves

1. KITTEN SLIPPERS from Forever 21: I have 2 pairs of slippers already but I WANT THESE BECAUSE THEY ARE SO CUUUUUTE.
2. Hat from Modcloth: I have a couple of winter hats but I want this one because it is pretty!
3. Mittens from Urban Outfitters: Love the fingerless mittens!
4. Comfy sweater from Urban Outfitters: My most favorite thing is a warm, fuzzy or oversized sweater (or hoodies) in the winter. I WANT.
5. Boots from Charlotte Russe: I got 3 pairs of boots for Christmas but I HAVE AN OBSESSION.
6. Legwarmers from Urban Outfitters: To go with my high boots. DUH. Love legwarmers. Always have.
7. Scarf: I have a ton of scarves but I don’t really have many patterned ones. Love this!

Seriously, I’m dying to shop for cold weather stuff right now because OMG IT IS FRIGID OUT and I seriously have this feeling that 2014 is going to be snowy and cold this winter.

Are you wanting to do any purchasing of these items with me? What are some of your favorite cold weather accessories? Link me to cute things PLEASE so I can blow my Christmas money. THANKS.
