Why I Added It To My To-Be-Read list: The world sounds incredibly interesting and honestly the cover kind of drew me in!
What It’s About: A synthetic hormone in beef kills women off (not little girls or old women) and the men/dads become super protective of their daughters even if the threat doesn’t seem to be there anymore. They start controlling their lives and choices. The main character, Ava, is contracted to marry an old, rich men because her dad’s company is failing. Ava decides that she can’t do that so, with the help of a friend, decides to run to Canada.

Why I Added It To My To-Be-Read list: I love books set in different countries — especially ones I don’t know that much about! This one is set in war torn Africa and deals with child soldiers.
What It’s About: Two women meet in war torn Africa — one is an American journalist trying to give voice to the young children who are taken and put into the army and forced to see/do horrible things and the other is a young girl named Esther who is in that situation.

Why I Added It To My To-Be-Read list: Because Veronica Rossi is half of the writing team for this book. Noelle August is a pseudonym for Veronica Rossi and Lorin Oberweger. You all know how much I love the Under the Never Sky series! I don’t read much NA fiction right now but if there was one author I trusted to deliver…it’s Veronica!!
What It’s About: Ethan and Mia meet in a bar and hookup that night — only to find out that they are interning at the same place — Boomerang.com which is a dating site for millennials. Their feelings for each other come to a screeching halt because there is a strict policy against dating coworkers and they are both competing for the same job. But will they be able to keep their focus or will that attraction be a stronger pull?

Why I Added It To My To-Be-Read list: I love contemporary YA and it sounds interesting and, even though I know better, it says for fans of Gayle Forman. And well, you know me. Also, I really want to know who the narrator is. The summary says “told by an unexpected and surprising narrator” sooo I’m all over that. It also sounds thought provoking. REALLY A WIN FOR ME just by summary alone.
What It’s About: Told by an “unexpected and surprising narrator”, Falling Into Place tells the story of a popular junior girl, Liz, who decides to drive her Mercedes off the road and tries to piece together the whys.
Why I Added It To My Netflix Queue: BECAUSE ZACH BRAFF IS ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVES. (Thanks Ginger for being my movie news supplier because I am so out of the loop these days!!). I feel like such a dunce for not knowing he had a new film coming out. And I hate that it says UNKNOWN release date on Netflix. GIMME.
What It Is About: “With his acting career moribund, Aidan Bloom steers a new tack in life, taking over his children’s education when private school becomes too costly. Finding much to learn as well as teach, Aidan develops his own unique curriculum for the kids..”
Short Term 12
Why I Added It To My Netflix Queue: Because Rainbow Rowell said so? Also, it definitely DOES seem like a me movie but once Rainbow tweeted about it I couldn’t get my fingers to move faster to add to my list.
What It Is About: “A new charge at a foster care facility dredges up the memories of a young supervisor’s own troubled past, and her tough exterior begins eroding.”
Why I Added It To My Netflix Queue: Because Julia Louis-Dreyfus!! Also, it’s going to be sad watching this because of James Gandolfini.
What It Is About: “Julia Louis-Dreyfus and James Gandolfini star in this charming comedy about a divorced woman venturing into a relationship with a sweet man. But things get tricky when she discovers the man she’s dating is the hated ex-husband of her new best friend.”
Twin Forks – Self Titled Album
Why I Added It To My Musical Rotation: I’ve been obsessed with their song Back To You since last year as a single (pretty sure I put it as a Monthly Rewind pick in December) and I’ve been WAITING for this one for forever!! Solid album. I think my new fave songs, besides Back To You, are Kiss Me Darlin’, Cross My Mind and Can’t Be Broken but honestly it’s just all so good and it’s been on A LOT for me.
The Colourist — Self Title Album
Why I Added It To My Musical Rotation: I really loved Little Games when that single came out (another I added to my December Monthly Rewind list) and so I am eating this one up! Besides Little Games I love Wishing Well and Tonight (Young Hearts). Very upbeat and fun album!
Goldspot — Aerogramme
Why I Added It To My Musical Rotation: I don’t even know how I found these guys at this point but LOVE. Fave songs: Abyss, The Border Line and If The Hudson Overflows.

A book I’ve added to my TBR recently is: “Since You’ve Been Gone” by: Morgan Matson. I’m a huge fan of the books of her’s that I’ve read, so basically anything she writes is an insta-add!
I haven’t really added any new tv shows to watch, but I’ve got to watch the last season of Dance Academy still!
And the singer I’ve added to my musical rotation (she was already there, but she hadn’t released anything new for awhile) is Rita Ora! You should definitely check out her music. Her new song (I like some of her old music too though) is called “I Will Never Let You Down”!

I’ve been hearing really good things about it! I’ve read both “Second Chance Summer” and “Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour”! And I loved them both!
It’s an Australian TV show haha. I found it on Netflix one day and was like “I think I’ll check this out” haha. You should check out Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., if you’re into the whole Marvel world. I love that show.
And no problem (: I don’t know if you’ve ever listened to Paolo Nutini, but I love his first album!

Falling Into Place is also new to my queue! I think I’ll give Boomerang a shot. I’ve seen Veronica talk about it, but I haven’t had much success with NA so I haven’t paid much attention to the synopsis. Your summary of it does sound pretty interesting though!

Wish I Was Here! I’m so stoked for the release of this movie. I jumped on the kickstarter campaign for it last year. When Zach Braff said he needed help funding a movie that he wrote, directed, and starred in — you bet I jumped on that bandwagon! Garden State is still one of my favorite movies of all time. Let me know if you listened to Birds of Tokyo. I’m curious what you thought.

I have been SO beyond on the movie scene these days that I didn’t even KNOW it was happening. I feel ashamed of myself!! I would have totally gotten on board with that Kickstarter! And I will def be listening soon! 🙂

I just bought 30 Girls, too (and a ton of other books, I went on a bit of a spree last week). I’m trying to read more (new) adult fiction. I also got The Weight of Blood by Laura McHugh.

YAY! Sometimes these posts are hard to gauge if people find them interesting or not but I love sharing what I’ve added to MY lists to read/watch/listen to sooo I’ll keep doing them but it’s always nice to know someone enjoys them!
I’ve read one Sarah Jio book — Blackberry Winter– where should I start next?? I really enjoyed her writing and storytelling!

A Girl Called Fearless is also on my TBR pile. I think it sounds really interesting. I’ve also added Michael Grant’s Gone to my list recently.
As for music, I’ve added American Authors’ album Oh, What a Life and Chvrches’ The Bones of What You Believe.
(I believe you’ve added the wrong album cover for that last one… I LOVE The Kongos though)
