BUSY!!
5 Things That Happened In September:
1. I finally read book 1 of the HARRY POTTER SERIES. *basks in applause* You know I’ve been ashamed of this and endured MANY years of harassing for this on this blog alone. Some of you followed along with my #HPvirgin tweets and were amused by my HP innocence. At one point I tweeted, “Oh that Snape…I can tell he is going to be trouble.” and someone said, “Oh you are just soooo cute and have NO IDEA.” GUYS I AM SCARED.
2. Will ran a half marathon and did AMAZING! Like in the top 2,000 out of 18,000 runners and it was his first race. I can brag about my husband yeah??
3. Book club went and saw Elizabeth Wein when she came to town (have YOU read Code Name Verity??) and then the Fierce Reads tour stop came to Philly and we went to that and had A BLAST. (Great meeting Leila Sales after LOVING This Song Will Save Your Life and the one and only Marissa Meyer who made me love cyborgs).
4. I got in a WICKED reading slump. It’s not even about that I’m not finding good books but it’s more like I’m just fickle and can’t commit to anything. I read 1 page and bail on everything.
5. I really spent a lot of days enjoying the weather because it’s been BEAUTIFUL.

I need to start doing something like this. It’s a nice way to incorporate the obsessions-other-than-books, and just sort of keep track of what’s going on. =)
(As for obsessions, I am fully in love with Lorde at the moment. Talented girl, that.)

Ahh, I love “Chocolate” by: The 1975! Song obsession of the month though? “On and On” by: Hanson! I’ve only had it for about a week and it already has 453 plays, oops =X
And I also read the first Harry Potter book! I finished it today and plan to start the second one later tonight!
I finally got myself a library card (I haven’t had one since I was 5), so I’ve been checking out ebooks when they become available!

So glad you finished the first Harry Potter – but you’re going to a festival without having read the rest? You are brave. Just think of all the potential for spoilers! I know I couldn’t do it if I was you, even though a HP festival is something I’d adore having read the books.

I’m so happy you finished the first HP book! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it, and the rest of the series.
And I totally understand the reading slump. I’m in the middle of one right now, and it’s mostly because I feel overwhelmed by the huge piles of unread books in my room. And when I finally did read something yesterday, it was a disappointing book, which certainly doesn’t help with the whole slump thing. I think I’m just going to re-read the HP series. I know I love those, and it might be just what I need to get back into reading again.

Reading slumps happen…but I am so happy to hear that you read the first Harry Potter book. I absolutely love that series (if I wasn’t still trying to catch up post move, I’d re-read the entire thing in a heartbeat).
The most notable thing for me this month, we got a puppy this past Saturday. He is absolutely adorable!!!!
