18 YA Books Coming Out In 2015 That I Cannot WAIT To Read!

This week’s topic: Top Ten 2015 Releases I’m Excited For

So since an upcoming Top Ten Tuesday topic is all about debuts, I chose to only choose authors who have published YA before and also books that had book covers! Annnnd I didn’t choose 10. I chose 18. I AM SO EXCITED I COULD NOT CUT THESE. This list was originally like 50 long so be impressed!!!!

Things We Know By Heart by Jessi Kirby: I  loved all 3 Jessi Kirby books I’ve read (Moonglass, In Honor, Golden) and she’s on auto-buy for me so naturally this is on my list. It sounds emotional (like her books tend to be) with a girl seeking out the recipient of her boyfriend’s heart who she lost tragically.

Making Pretty by Corey Ann Haydu: Loved Corey’s Life By Committee this year so DEFINITELY excited for this! Friendship, sisters & romance — can’t wait to see what Corey has in store for us!

The Last Time We Said Goodbye by Cynthia Hand: I really loved Cynthia’s paranormal series (Unearthly is book 1) but I’m really excited for a contemporary from her!  This sounds like a punch-you-in-the-gut sort of story about a girl whose brother commits suicide and she holds the secret of a text he sent that could have changed things.

The Devil You Know by Trish Doller: NEW TRISH DOLLER!!! I love her books (Something Like Normal and Where Stars Still Shine) and I’m excited because this is a psychological thriller! Plus ROAD TRIP!

The Walls Around Us by Nova Ren Suma: I can’t even explain what this one is about but it’s supernatural-y and sounds AWESOME and UNIQUE.

Tonight The Streets Are Ours by Leila Sales: Leila’s This Song Will Save Your Life was one of my FAVORITE reads last year and I am sooooo excited for this one! It’s about a teen girl who has an obsession with a popular blogger and goes to track him down.

A Court of Thorns & Roses by Sarah J. Maas: SARAH J. MAAS. NEW SERIES. THAT IS ALL.

Hold Me Like A Breath by Tiffany Schmidt: It is the start of a series of crime family fairy tale retellings. OMG RIGHT? This one is a retelling of Princess & the Pea and the main character’s family is one of 3 families who control the black market of organ transplants.

Emmy & Oliver by Robin Benway: Love Robin’s books that I’ve read (Audrey, Wait! and Also Known As). Oliver is kidnapped by his dad and taken away from his friends and family — including his best friend Emmy — until they reunite 10 years later when he is returned home.

Bone Gap by Laura Ruby: New author to me but this sounds like an interesting mystery kind of book!

Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen: Even though I haven’t read all her books yet, new Sarah Dessen is always one I look forward to! This one sounds so damn good!

The Orphan Queen by Jodi Meadows: FANTASYYYY FANS. This sounds awesome…make sure its on your list!

A Sense of The Infinite by Hilary T. Smith: I LOVED Hilary’s debut novel Wild Awake and just was so impressed by the prose. Love books that deal with friendship!

Illusionarium by Heather Dixon: Alternate London! Steampunk! The Night Circus meets Pixar!

Every Last Word by Tamera Ireland Stone: This looks good! A popular girl with OCD who fights really hard to hide it and her life changes when she attends a secret poetry club.

All The Rage by Courtney Summers: LOVED Courtney Summers Some Girls Are! This new one SOUNDS AMAAAAZING and she once tweeted about how if we thought the mean girls in Some Girls Are were mean….basically we haven’t seen anything. GAHHH.

Vanishing Girls by Lauren Oliver: I always get excited for new Lauren Oliver! This one sounds dark and mysterious and SO SO GOOD.

The Start of You & Me by Emery Lord: You should all known my love for Open Road Summer by now!!! There’s a reason I’m starting this one soon because I’m SO EXCITED I CANNOT WAIT. I KNOW MY HEART IS GOING TO BREAK.

 

2015 Books I’ve Read:

The Winner’s Crime by Marie Rutkoski: BOOK 2 IS AMAZING. If you haven’t read The Winner’s Curse…get on that!
I Was Here by Gayle Forman: GAYLE. Enough said. This one hurt my heart. SHE ALWAYS IMPRESSES ME.
I’ll Meet You There by Heather Demetrios: HOLY SHIT SO GOOOOOOD. I CAN’T EVEN.
My Heart & Other Black Holes by Jasmine Warga: This one was heavy. Took a bit out of me but really good!

    I just got really excited to see The Things We Know by Heart at the start of your list because I cut that one off mine but it was SO CLOSE. This makes me even more excited for it! I also have the Gayle Forman and Lauren Oliver books and OF COURSE A Court of Thorns and Roses, and The Winner’s Crime. *sobs* I just need them already! How am I living without them??

    Oh my goodness. I have had to add so many books on your list to my TBR list. I can’t wait to read The Start of Me and You. I’m also looking forward to reading Cynthia Hand’s contemporary. I’m excited about Jessi Kirby’s new book as well. I loved Something Real from Heather Demetrios so it’ll be great to read more from her! Vanishing Girls made my list too! 🙂

    I already got to read The Walls Around Us and I LOOOVED it! I think it’s my favorite by her now.

    A Court of Thorns and Roses seems to be on everyone’s list this week. Mine too. I’m so excited about that one.

    Great picks! You’ve got quite a few on your list that are on my own – A Court of Thorns and Roses, The Orphan Queen, The Start of Me and You and The Winner’s Crime. And some that I forgot to mention – The Devil You Know, Things We Know By Heart and Vanishing Girls especially. 2015 is going to be a great year for books, I can’t wait.     Knowing you as I do, I think you should add Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli to this list! It’s my favorite book of 2015 so far! It is like Stephanie Perkins but for gay teen boys. I love love love this book!

    I had a feeling our lists would overlap at least a little bit and I was right! Actually I think my list has the most in common with your list. The Orphan Queen, The Devil You Know, Things We Know By Heart, Making Pretty, and A Court of Thorns and Roses are all on my list as well.

    I read both I’ll Meet You There & The Start of Me and You, and I think you’ll love both of them. They seem like they were made for you.

    I plan on reading all of Kirby’s books when they show up from Book Outlet, and Things We Know by Heart is sitting on my Kindle just waiting for that day!

    I’m also really excited for The Last Time We Say Goodbye – it sound similar to I Was Here, but I think I’m looking forward to Hand’s book more. A Court of Thorns and Roses is a given – I’m pretty sure I’m going to alienate people with how much I talk about it 😛

      I’ll be curious to see how similar it is to I Was Here!! I loved I Was Here but Hand’s sounds amazing too!

    You have the right idea going on, because I ended up leaving off quite a few that I’m anticipating, haha. There are simply too many books to anticipate for 2015!! It’s a bit overwhelming being this excited for so many books I question whether I’ll get to read them all! You have a good list!

      SAME! I kind of want to go back to last year’s most anticipated list and see how many I actually read. Okay actually I’m going to do that lol. It looks like I read 6/10 that I put on my list last year! Not bad!!

    I was going to participate in this TTT today but then I realized that since I’ve been going through a big blogging slump for the past few months (and because I’ve been so bad at reading other blogs for like a year now), I really don’t know that many books coming out in 2015. But now I’m going to read other people’s lists and I can find out about all the awesome books coming out next year! Yay!

    Emmy & Oliver and Hold Me Like a Breath sound SO fantastic. I’ve added them (and lots of others from your list) to my TBR! Thanks! 🙂

      To be honest I’m normally more UP on the 2015 releases than I am right now much for the same reason just like a general slump/blogging slump. Besides the books that were by favorite authors (quite a few) I started scouring catalogs and 2015 lists on Goodreads for this TTT. SIGH. Other people’s lists are DEFINITELY helping me fill in ones I missed!!

    I’m not going to lie, while making my list I had to do a little “research” because I knew there were books I wanted to read coming out next year, but could not for the life of me think of them. And by research I mean I checked your blog and a few others to remind myself. I really think Hold Me Like A Breath sounds awesome, though I’m a sucker for fairy tale retellings. I also really want Illusionarium to be awesome (which I’m sure it will be) because I have been really missed reading anything more steampunk (I went through a phase where I tried to only read steampunk books, but I got picky real fast). You have quite the list, with even more books I plan on looking into and possibly adding to my list. Definitely some I have not heard of. And I had no clue Sarah Dessen had a new book coming out! Time to look into that one too!

      I had to as well! I knew I had some books by favorite authors but I was kind of blanking at first and then I was like OMGGGGG YES THIS ONE AND THAT ONE I FORGOT.

      I haven’t really read many steampunk books! What ones were your faves?

        I loved the Levithan series by Scott Westerfield (though, big shocker..haven’t finished it yet). Boneshaker by Cheri Priest is another one I loved (and have not really read more of the series. Seriously, I suck at this). And I also really liked Etiquette & Espionage by Gail Carriger and really need to get on that reading more of that series too.

    You are much more prepared for 2015 releases than I am. I can’t even tell you what the big books are supposed to be for the next few months! I do have the Nova Ren Suma galley to read. I am excited about that. I will have to look more closely at the new Lauren Oliver. I had no idea she was publishing another book, and I love her too much to ignore anything she writes.

    I’m also excited for the newest Dessen book because she is Dessen, more doesn’t need to be said.
    I also want to read Gayle’s newest book because after reading and highly enjoying If I Stay I just need more of her books in my life.

    I truly think you’re going to enjoy The Start of Me and You! It’s a great new contemporary from Emery, and she’s managed to write great friendships for the character in this novel yet again. Also, The Orphan Queen was fabulous and I think it’s a fantasy that you’re going to enjoy indulging in! And ACOTAR, oh ACOTAR, well, it’s lush and beautiful and totally got that fairy tale vibe.

    Not going to lie – I’m definitely excited for most of the releases you’ve mentioned in this post! The only ones I hadn’t really heard of were The Walls Around Us, Bone Gap and All the Rage – which I’m going to check out and consider 🙂
