Book Haul For 2013 So Far

Been super lazy about doing a Stacking the Shelves or IMM. This week my books are posing with my Snuggie on my couch because that’s where I’ve been as I’ve been SICK SICK SICK (hence the lack of posting due to lack of energy).

The Elite by Kiera Cass: I have The Selection on my shelf but can’t tell if it’s a ME book. So tell me if I should read it so than I have this one handy!
How Zoe Made Her Dreams (Maybe) Come True by Sarah Stroehmeyer: This looks really cute and light! Saving for after I read something super heavy!
Rise by Anna Carey: I LIKED Eve (had some issues but DEVOURED it) and have been waiting to read Once until closer to Rise coming out. Think I’ll finish that series soon!
The Rising by Kelley Armstrong: I read book 1 which was The Gathering and really enjoyed it. I think I’m afraid of book 2’s apparently? Excited for this one!
The Silver Dream by Neil Gaiman & Michael Reaves: Haven’t read the first book but it’s Neil Gaiman so I must check it out!

Wild Awake by Hilary T. Smith: I am SO SO SO excited about this one. It was on my Catalog Creepin’ post for Harper and it looks so amazing! I am not usually swayed by author blurbs but it’s GAYLE FORMAN and you know my love!
Destiny, Rewritten by Kathryn Fitzmaurice: This looks adorable and I had never heard of it before!

The Ward by Jordanna Frankel: Another Catalog Creepin’ pick and this sounds like quite the pageturner!
The Boyfriend App by Katie Sise: This looks so fun! I can’t remember if I put it on my Catalog Creepin’ post but I think this one is just going to be too fun!
Darius & Twig by Walter Dead Myers: I’ve never read anything about this author but I’m pretty sure my pal April from Good Books and Good Wine likes him!
Unbreakable by Elizabeth Norris: I have Unraveling on my shelf and getting this is going to make me read it SOON! I met her at a Dark Days event and it sounded like such a great book!
Life After Theft by Aprilynne Pike: I also met Aprilynne at a Dark Days event but hadn’t read her other books but this one looks great! AND it’s a retelling of The Scarlet Pimpernel!

Live Through This by Mindi Scott: I’ve heard great things about this one so I figured I’d buy it!
Catching Jordan by Miranda Kenneally: I hear wonderful things about this author but have been nervous that this particular book wouldn’t be my thing because the only football I really like is through Friday Night Lights BUT I have friends who adore it so of course I bought it!

Which ones are you excited about? Have you read any of these? Tell me which I need to bump up!

    Catching Jordan! Yaaaaaaaaaayyy! I really love the Hundreds Oak series! Probably some of my favourite contemporary novels! I hope you enjoy them all! Happy reading! 🙂

    I will say this – Mindi Scott’s Freefall is one of those books you just sit down and read. So I’m sure her second book is no different. And I think I’ve wanted to read Catching Jordan as well, so I’ll be curious to hear others’ thoughts on that one.

    I have The Selection too, but I haven’t read it either. I’m exited for Ms. Pike’s new book as I really enjoyed her Wings series. I can’t wait to read The Rising because we get to see characters from the Darkest Powers series which I adore (btw, book two was just as intense as book one).

    Wow.. great haul! You got a lot of “second” books where I haven’t read the first either… I’m having personal debates with reading some of them. I really want to read Live Through This, it sounds awesome! I hope you feel better soon! Enjoy your books 🙂

    Okay WOW. SO MUCH AWESOME. The Selection was good. Great? No, but GOOD, and enjoyable. I’m psyched for The Elite. Live Through This is one of those books that I bought, wanted to peek at, and read half of it in one sitting, so I think it’s good – it’s different than you’d expect. And KELLEY ARMSTRONG. BRB. BRB. I can’t even handle it. Kelley is AMAZING.

    Bah, I’m sorry you’ve been sick, Jamie! I went through that as well the week of New Years…you know, when I was on vacation and with my family and stuff. Hope that you start feeling better, and that you’re not too sick to enjoy a good book!

    I haven’t read the Interworld books either but obvs I need to as an unabashed Gaiman fangirl. Destiny, Rewritten DOES look adorable, and Wide Awake looks like a contemp even I may have to pick up. I’ve actually heard that Miranda Kennealy isn’t great about her sports details, so you might like Catching Jordan MORE because you’re not a big football fan. 😛

    Yay, Rise! Once was really good, better than Eve, so I hope you end up liking the rest of the series!

    Nice haul! I’m really looking forward to The Ward and Rise. I just can’t seem to stay away from dystopian/post-apocolyptic books! Can’t wait to see your thoughts.

    I could definitely see you liking The Selection. Although it has some holes (which I am hoping are filled in The Elite) it’s a nice blend of dystopian and romance. You should definitely read it!

    I liked THE ELITE, but didn’t love it. Then again, I’d been wanting it since the book deal announced, so I think my expectations were higher than the book could hit. I’m still looking forward to THE ELITE because I think the story is going to take off in new ways it didn’t the first time around. The cover for WILD AWAKE is really cool! I’ve never even heard of this one. If you’re excited about it, I’m going to look into it! Oh, I have DESTINY, REWRITTEN as well to read. I want to read it during Poetry month! I liked CATCHING JORDAN. I just bought STEALING PARKER for 99¢ on my nook, but haven’t read it yet! I’m really looking forward to her next few books the most, and have a NG ARC of one!

    Live Through This is AMAZING. And I am beyond jealous of Wild Awake. It looks unbelievably good and I can’t wait to get it in my hands. I hope you love it! Oh, and The Selection was good – kind of dystopian light? But I think The Elite is going to be a bit darker? WHATEVER, anyway. If you like reality TV game shows, you’ll like The Selection.

    I adore your books Jamie! I’m crossing my fingers and praying to hope I get The Elite! Also I LOVED Catching Jordan! And for the record, I normally hate football, but somehow this book made me want to play it.. LOL!
