I decided for this top ten tuesday freebie week I’d talk about some of the great quotes I’ve saved from books I’ve read this year!

Mosquito land was definitely one of my favorite books this far this year but there are so many great books and so many great quotes, it might be tough to choose just 10.

I’m the worst at keeping track of quotes, but I did love this from A DARKER SHADOW OF MAGIC: “‘I’m not going to die,’ she said. ‘Not until I’ve seen what.’ ‘Seen what?’ Her smile widened. ‘Everything.'” Also, fire-breathing bitch-queen is EVERYTHING.

I adore quotes! This is one from The Heart of Betrayal by Mary E Pearson that has really stuck with me: “I was thousands of miles from who I was and who I wanted to be.” This was such a great list! x

Beautiful quotes! I’m a total quote fiend. It’s why I actually love ebooks–it’s far easier to highlight my favorite quotes than to mark the pages and type them up later (seriously, I used to do that). I could never choose just ten though because they’re all so great for different reasons! Here’s my TTT which, funny enough, also includes quotes lol.

Woah! Big coincidence that I also did top ten quotes for my TTT today! I’m so obsessed with quotes as well. In class or when I’m reading I’m always focusing on the side for quotes that have a ‘click’. I recently started a quote journal to write them all down. Because one day I’ll come back to it and it’ll be great. Do you have any form of recording your favorite quotes?
Man, I really love your quotes. I’m definitely going to read The Summer of Chasing Mermaids because of that quote now.

YAY quote fiends! I totally have had a quote journal for years! I try to be good about adding them but sometimes I forget. I’ll take a pic of the quote sometimes if I don’t feel like stopping to do the quote right then.

Beautiful quotes Jaime! I love a well written book whose words give me chills and some of these quotes did just that. Do you write down or mark beautiful quotes in books that you’ve read? I would love to do something like this, but never really take the time to jot down page numbers or something when I read. Maybe I should give it a try!

I have a quote notebook! I am sometimes good at adding to it and sometimes not haha. I typically will read and either dog ear (if it’s mine) or take a pic of the quote and then later transfer them to the quote notebook.

Sometimes I am really good about writing them down. Sometimes I am not so good. haha. I have kept a quote notebook for a while with varying degrees of success haha

Yes that is what I LOVE about any post that deals with quotes (so long as they aren’t super spoilery which I try to be very careful about). I feel like you get a taste of the book and sometimes reading a quote makes me all like MUST READ NOW.

lol that’s funny because I think I’m the opposite; I was going through my quotes journal the other day and noticed that most of the quotes I’ve collected and recorded are more on the funny side than the inspirational side xD

I can see why you were drawn to the quote from The Summer of Chasing Mermaids. The beautiful imagery is made more interesting with the short, choppy syntax at the end. The contrast of an elegant idea and a well-placed Fbomb. Lovely.

I loved this post! I am a huge fan of quotes in books. I am the person who likes to highlight my books so I’m always on the look out for words that inspire me in my life.

I don’t highlight but if the book is mine I dogear the crap out of it when I find quotes or passages I loved or swoony scenes or scenes that made me sob because they were beautiful! You can tell my most loved books by all the damn dogears haha

It didn’t make my list this week because I’m a quote hoarder and had to narrow my list down further, so I did books read in October and November. But damn, I love that.
