No, I’m not the stalkerazzi tracking your every move on my site! I pinky promise.

I just genuinely wanted to say thanks for commenting.  I mean it. Comments make my day and I so enjoy reading them and responding back when I’m able to (I apologize because sometimes I get embarrassingly behind because LIFE and my own terrible time management but I READ EVERY SINGLE ONE). It’s easy to just read and lurk rather than take the time to comment so it means a lot to me that you decided to take the plunge and join the bookish fun here in my little space by way of a comment. Truly, I think you rock.

I hope you liked what you saw here on my site as I’d love for you to swing on by again! I love getting to know the people who create the most amazing community that has made me stick around here blogging about books and other fun things since June 2010.

My goal with this blog is to create a place where I can talk to other insanely awesome bookish people about all the books I’ve read, books I’m excited to read, discuss all things bookish & more! I maintain an honest and conversational reviewing style…I want to you to feel like you are sitting down with a friend over margaritas (or coffee or tea or whatever your heart desires) talking about books. There aren’t any gimmicks here. I just like books and I like to talk about them and I LOVE hearing what you have to say…even if you don’t agree with me! I read and review young adult books, adult fiction books & even a little non-fiction.

    Favourites: Life As We Knew It, Delirium. Divergent & Matched (and their sequels) are all right but will not become obsessions. I didn’t really enjoy Under The Never Sky or Blood Red Road– I read them for free and would not read them again. I’ve heard wonderful things about Shatter Me though, I’m debating buying this. And the adult dystopias, because I do love dystopias but YA is usually a hit or miss genre.

    Something to consider: The Scorpio Races helped me when I was trying not to restart The Hunger Games trilogy for about the 1,000 time. It’s not a dystopia, but it isn’t strictly in our “world” if you will. But if you read it, you’ll be in love. That’s my top recommendation if you’re looking for a magical, compelling, and unique YA and doesn’t have to be post-apocalyptic or dystopian. The Host (Stephenie Meyer…MUCH better than Twilight) is also a good sci-fi read.

    Jamie, I agree you can’t beat a really good book, but for those that can’t part company with their literary favourites I would say seriously talk to a local storage firm nearby to keep your books for you.

    Sure they’ll charge but you should find rates are lower than you might have thought plus you’ll get the space back in your home you desperately need.

    One thing I’d also mention is to make sure any depot you do choose is close by and open 24 hours for you to gain access to books for those emergency late night reads 😉

    I went through a very similar slump but it kind of lasted through the end of 2013. My co-blogger Rachelia and I actually wrote quite an extensive post about our experiences with this. For me personally, I now feel like I’ve found my reading groove again, so to speak… but it certainly took quite a while, which is definitely discouraging. I know how you feel! And hope you feel like your old reading self again soon. It sucks when such a source of comfort is taken away by an inability to love what you used to love, if that makes sense.

    Love your list! I need to get my hands of The Unexpected Everything, A Study in Charlotte, Just Visiting and The Summer of Chasing Mermaids! I’m so glad pay day was Friday. I completely agree with your recommendation of Emmy and Oliver, so cute. I didn’t love The Start of Me and You so much but I’ve got When We Collide so I’m going to give that a go next. Yours is the second list I’ve seen Something Real on. Definitely need to investigate that one!
