Great list! I totally agree with you on the Little House on the Prairie books; reading those as a girl always made me wish that I’d been born 100 years earlier. And I LOVE road trip books specifically for the fact that they make me want to hop in a car and DRIVE. I didn’t know that you loved The Curious Incident too! That is one of my favourite books of ALL TIME. Loved it. When did you work with kids with autism / Asberger’s? That would be soooo cool — maybe something to think about for your job search?

I had the same thing going on after college with all my friends moving away 🙁 I still haven’t found a great group to hang with like I did in college, and prob never will!! Oh well anyway cute idea for a list!!

WOW! What a great list! I recently read ‘The Next Thing on My List’ and it inspired me to do one of my 101 things – I paid for the groceries of the person behind me in line at the store. Also, after reading Anna and the French Kiss, my daughter and I took a weekend trip to Paris and we had to stand on the compass rose outside Notre Dame and went to the Pantheon (but it was closed for a special event – boo hoo!)

Love your topic! Most books made me want to travel and see all the places that are described for real! And I would take that fighting class with you! I’ve always imagined being really kick ass, but sadly I’m not… Oh and I’m still hoping to find out that I have a supernatural power after all, or that my Hogwarts letter got lost in the mail… 😉

I’ve kind of always wanted to sing. So reading about Charlotte in Being Friends With Boys was fun because she realized that she loved singing in a band. Will I ever do it? I doubt it. I sure do a heck of a lot of it around the house and in my car! Loud, too. But seriously, karaoke or being in a band would be fun to at least TRY.

LOVE this list! Ditto on being a spy, but I would pick the Gallagher Girl series. Always wanted to shoot a bow and arrow, but especially so after Hunger Games 🙂 As for #10, you can always chat books or anything with me! I’ll be your friend! Not to sound weird…

Good post! I’m right there with you on wanting to learn to shoot a bow and arrow after reading the Hunger Games! I wanted to become a legit cello player after reading If I Stay and Where She Went. I settled for turning on a cello Pandora station and calling it a day.

Definitely want to go on an epic road trip! After reading Anna and the French Kiss I wanted to become fluent in French and move to Paris. Although I think I’d just settle for moving to Paris, ha!

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants made me want to take up running because Bee was such a runner and she made it sound like so much fun. Also, I definitely wanted to visit France after reading Anna and the French Kiss.

This may be yet ANOTHER Top Ten Tuesday that will be one of my favorites. Because books always make me want to do ALL SORTS OF THINGS – like form a club, be in a school play or learn a new instrument or language.

What a great list! Books make me want to do things that I had never thought of before to. I would love to know how to use a bow and arrow. Although, road trips aren’t really my thing. I’m a homebody at heart.
Definitely agree about having a group of girlfriends. After college=no friends 🙁 I graduated in 2006, and I went to school in VA, but I’m from NY, and moved back after college. All my college friends live in VA 🙁

So many of these are true for me, as well! I love road trips, and books with them inevitably make me want to take one. The wagon/prairie one is SO ACCURATE, oh my gosh. I cannot even tell you how strong my desire was and totally still is to have the “Ingalls” experience. I played Little House with my sister all the time as a child.

I’m so there with you on ten. I grew away from all my friends when I did Running Start in tenth grade and haven’t made any since. It doesn’t help that I moved away to Seattle about a year ago either. It’s much harder to make friends in the city than I ever thought it’d be.
