This week’s topic: Top Ten Books I Would Love To See As Movies/TV Shows
THE CAVEAT…it has to be done RIGHT. Please don’t butcher books I love, Hollywood. THANKS.
These Broken Stars — WOULD THIS NOT BE THE GREATEST TV SHOW? Space! Secrets! I think a lot could be done with these books.
Jessica Darling series by Megan McCafferty: I’ve said this before and I will say it again…I WOULD WATCH THE SHIT OUT OF THIS SHOW. Jessica Darling needs to get her own show. It would be epic.
Pawn by Aimee Carter: I think the concept of this could make for such an interesting tv series!
Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas: NO REALLY. HOLLYWOOD. PLEASE MAKE THIS HAPPEN.
Mosquitoland: My movie tastes tend to lie with the quirky indie films and this book just screams that. I NEED MIM TO COME ALIVE ON SCREEN. And David already chatted soundtrack with me and GAH IT WOULD BE THE MOST DARLING INDIE GEM.
Extraordinary Means: Another book I see being a little indie darling film. I just think the concept of this book could be really interesting on film.
We Were Liars: I don’t want to say too much but IDK I THINK THIS COULD BE INTERESTING.
Written in the Stars: When I was reading this I kept thinking how cinematic this could be.
Things We Know By Heart: I can just see this being an adorbs teen romance movie! Plus the setting would be GORGEOUS on film.
This Song Will Save Your Life: I think this could be super cool as a movie. Again, because apparently I’m a pretentious movie water, I just see this as a super cool indie flick. The music would come alive and so would the fashion! But I mean, I guess I could also see this as a mainstream film too. (OMG I SWEAR I AM NOT THIS PRETENTIOUS. I JUST SEE IT IN MY HEAD A CERTAIN WAY).

I agree with all of these! These Broken Stars needs to become a TV show!! I can’t believe I didn’t think of it until now! It would be so cool if it had a Lost kind of vibe to it.
Even though I haven read Mosquitoland, I can definitely see it being a really cool indie movie. These were really great picks!

I’ve only read the Jessica Darling series and the ToG series, but YES I SO AGREE WITH YOU. And can you imagine ToG have the Reign costume designers/department?! OMG IT’D BE PERFECT.

I think We Were Liars would be an awesome movie (if done well). These Broken Stars is such a good pick for TV. Great list!

Throne of Glass would make a great TV show! And I think most of the current crop of YA contemporary novels would work best with at least an indie vibe if not actual indies. They would lose a lot if they just became ‘big name’ vehicles.

Great list! I totally agree on the books that I have read like Throne of Glass and We Were Liars. I also think These Broken Stars would perfect as a TV show. With the companion novel style of the series with each season we could get to know and love a new set of protagonists. It would be great!

ALSO I didn't like We Were Liars that much but I think the concept would definitely be interesting as a movie! I would definitely watch it.

Those are great TV show options – someone really has to do this! The only book I’ve read from your movies list is Things We Know by Heart, but I agree 100% that it’d make a wonderful movie. Yes, it’d make me cry A LOT, but it’d be worth it.

Throne of glass could be SO cool or a complete failure if they don’t get the casting right.

I second Things We Know by Heart! I think it would be super adorable as a movie!
I also think the Nantucket series by Leila Howland and Jessica Martinez’s Virtuosity would be a great as movies. In the Nantucket series, it would be beautiful and fun and spunky, and with Virtuosity, there’s music, romance, self-discovery, and everything in between!

I hadn’t really thought about This Song Will Save Your Life being a movie, but now that you’ve mentioned it, I can see it happen! I loved that book, and I don’t remember seeing a lot of movies about bullying the past couple of years.. I also have Throne of Glass on my list, and I agree on having it as a TV show rather than a movie series, because there is just so much going on in those books! Here is my TTT! ^^

These Broken Stars (and the rest of the series) would definitely be an interesting TV show! And I agree that Throne of Glass would be a great show, if it were executed well 🙂
