Remember how I told you how sometimes I am obsessed with authors who I’ve never read?
Confession: Maggie Steifvater is totally one of those authors. I own all her books, have met her, stalk her on Twitter and think she is just truly fantastic. But I’VE NEVER READ A SINGLE BOOK OF HERS!!
That is..until two days ago…when I started The Scorpio Races — her newest novel! And it is fantastic so far!
Anyways, thanks to Big Honcho Media and Scholastic I have:
Read the terms & conditions below! ALSO, I’m trying Rafflecopter for the first time EVER. It is really easy for me so far but I do want to be sure that my readers find it to work out well. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think!

Lisa Austin says
I am like that with a few! Victoria Schwab, Maggie Steifvater, Tahereh Mafi. Recently read a couple of books of authors that I have loved on Twitter for a while. Getting there!!! 🙂
Ren says
I don't think I've ever loved an author when I haven't read their books before. As for rafflecopter as a blogger & as a reader I love rafflecopter. It makes things so much easier.
Jamie says
Lisa — YAY! Me too! I'm trying to work on that too!!
Ren — Thanks for you input about Rafflecopter! I really want to find what is the best option for both myself and my readers!
Amanda @ On a Book Bender says
Definitely Tahereh Mafi, and my latest love has been Maureen Johnson. I don't own any of their books, but I love them and want to.
A. Knight says
I just, I don't know, I just don't think this is something I would like to read. Maybe I'm judging it to much at first glance. But it doesn't like it would be for me… #unsure

I just finished this the other day – LOVED IT! So much.

I can't think of an author I love who I haven't read, but there are a few authors that I list as favorites and rave about all the time even though I've only read one book by them: Ayn Rand (The Fountainhead), Daphne du Maurier (Rebecca), Italo Calvino (If On a Winter's Night a Traveler) ect.
Haruki Murakami and John Irving used to be on the list too, but I finally read a second book by them last year 🙂
Oh, but in high school I really loved James Joyce though I hadn't read anything by him. I finally read A Portrait of An Artist last year and read excerpts of Ulysses and didn't really care for either. I was quite upset over losing a favorite author 🙁
Anna says
Girl. GIRL. Are you for serious right now? Oh, Jamie. We need to fix this situation.
Angie says
I can't think of anyone. The rafflecopter is great! Its really easy to use. Thanks for the chance to win! I love Maggie. I read the Wolves of Mercy Falls series and loved them 🙂
ansindt says
I am obsessed with Lauren Oliver..but I have never read any of her books
Sara (of the Page Sage) says
I've never read one of her books either, but the Scorpio Races looks great! I liked Shakespeare before I read anything by him, but I think that's just because I felt I was obligated to like him… now I honestly do!! (:
Kat says
I've never loved an author whose books I haven't read. Honestly, I don't even keep up on authors that much, which is pretty bad of me. T_T
Rie Conley says
I'm like that about Jackson Pearce and now I'm scared if I read a book I'll be disappointed. Thanks for the giveaway.
Jenny says
I love Libba Bray but haven't read any of her books, even though I have almost all of them. It's sort of embarrassing, haha.
And I totally didn't even realize Maggie did her own art for the trailer. I love this trailer so much and that she did the sketches herself makes it a thousand times cooler.
The Lovely Getaway says
I havent got around to testing out the famous Rafflecopter, but a lot of bloggers seem to like it. Personally, I'm more of a googles Doc girl 😀 haha! Either way, thanks for hosting this giveaway!

Malvina Beatrice says
Yes with Kendare Blake..I'm yet to read her books.
Thanks for this amazing giveaway!
Amie McCracken says
I just bought this book…like last night. I love her writing (and kind of hate how talented she is in so many areas, I'm jealous). So I won't enter since I own it, but I am enjoying it so far.
Jenelle R. says
Hmm… Tahereh Mafi, yes, Maggie, and that Poison Diaries author (I forgot her name. M Wood something…. *hangs head in shame*) and…. A lot. Basically those authors whose books are on my TBR pile 😛
Sylvia says
Thank you so much for this giveaway! I hope I win:)
Bwyatt says
Of course! Especially those new authors that are so friendly while promoting their books that aren't out yet. Kiki Hamilton for instance. Love her!
Jessica ( frellathon ) says
Oh I'm eager to read this one. Looks so good.
aLmYbNeNr says
Not really. I've read all the authors I've met/love/bought books of/whatever.
Jana says
Unlike you, I've read everything by Maggie! lol. I love her literary writing, and I have been so excited for this book! Thanks for hosting the giveaway!
Jana says
Oh, whoops… I accidentally entered both times for the blog post one, and then for the one where you did not do a comment. Sorry! It's 6:00 AM and I have not gone to sleep yet. I did not mean to enter an extra time. I'm not dishonest. 🙂
Tiffany Drew says
Guilty! I was obsessed with Emily Giffin before I read any of her books. I finally read them all this year though, hooray!
Lori M. Lee says
For a while, I loved Sarah Rees Brennan without having read her first book (it wasn't out yet) because her blog posts were HILARIOUS. Then, when I did read her book, I loved her even more! 😀
Annette says
I was very interested in Richelle Mead. I have now read the first Vampire Academy book, and I think my interest was a good thing! Thanks for the giveaway!
jpetroroy says
I have read so many great reviews of this! Until a few months ago, I had never read John Green.
Alexa says
Hmm, I don't think there is! I usually get drawn in by the books – and then I end up stalking the authors, haha 🙂
Angiegirl says
SUCH a gorgeous book.
Mia says
Surprisingly, I don't think I've ever done that (be "that" I mean be totally in love with an author before reading their books). I've seen a bunch of reviews of this book, but haven't had a chance to check it out yet.
Jessica Secret says
I loooove Maggie Stiefvater. Thanks for the opportunity!
lisa [the nerd] says

Emily @ Books and Threads says
I wasn't a big fan of the Shiver trilogy, but man, I'm excited about Scorpio Races! What a great giveaway!
Loni says
I'm with you about Maggie. I've never read the Shiver trilogy, but somehow I love it…
Lynne Perednia says
This is how I feel about both this author and Sharon Flake — my students love their work so I think they're fab.
Ashley G. says
Thanks for the giveaway! BTW I like the rafflecopter. It's easy to fill out. Thanks again!
pointy star says
I started reading The Scorpio Races yesterday, and it's so good! Unfortunately, the book is from my library, and it's almost the due date, so I would love to have my own copy if I could win. 🙂
Thanks for having such an awesome giveaway!
elin says
Tahereh Mafi! I can't wait to read Shatter me!
Thank you for the giveaway!
Diana says
I have so many books in my TBR pile, it's crazy. But I've net so many of the authors and think they're great -like James Dashner, Kristen Landon, Matthew Kirby, Lisa Mangum, and more.
Boriquaz says
I've never met any of the authors even though i've wanted to but i def have way too many books on my tbr list. Series galore but not enough time to read them all.

I really like Lenore Appelhans because of her blog Presenting Lenore. I plan on reading her novel when it debuts in Fall 2012.
I also like Lo & Christina of the Swoontini blog. They just signed with an agent and have a completed MS on sub to publishers. I'll look for their debut novel in a few years.
I may or may not eventually adore John Green. His blog's great but I haven't read his books yet, so I don't KNOW if I love his writing yet.

sablelexi says
I've never been a fan of an author without reading them. I have done this with an anime series once though. I love the character and was obsessed with getting every episode even though I had 100 before I watched one. I loved it though.

Persephone says
I have been a fan of the author who wrote the Gossip Girl series, even though I have never read her work and have relied solely on the TV series. Her name never sticks me with, I should feel bad.
Vivian says
I'm a huge fan of Rachel Hawkins & Maureen Johnson even though I haven't read any of their books yet 😀
Bookish in a Box says
I don't think I've ever really gone crazy over an author I've never read; the closest I've come is with Bree Despain after I saw the cover of The Dark Divine (which, as it turned out, I loved!).
andrea says
Yes! 🙂 I think that I like Alexander McCall Smith, but I think I've never read his books (although I do own a few). (OK, I did read Dream Angus, but it's a very short book and not a part of his more popular series).
thanks for the giveaway!
