Monthly Rewind: May 2017

And just like that May is over. Boy, did it go by fast!! And wow June is the last full month before this baby comes!

1. I had my baby shower: It was so great celebrating baby girl with family and friends! We were absolutely spoiled. And the baby got TONS of books to start her library. (Also super obsessed with the dress I got for the shower…it says it’s maternity but doesn’t seem maternity like other dresses I have. Definitely will wear this after!! The brand honestly has so many cute maxi dresses..but they seem to go in and out of stock.)

2. Will and I saw some bands we’ve been dying to see — We saw Fitz & the Tantrums, Bastille, Empire of the Sun, The 1975 and Kings of Leon. It was a great day and I survived even though by the time we got home at midnight my pregnant butt was dying.

3. Had some not so fun pregnancy things: I’ve been having terrible hip and pelvic pain the past couple weeks and it’s been really not fun especially at night. I have a hard time turning over to the other side or getting out of bed. AND, to top things off, yesterday Finn saw a chipmunk when we were heading out the door of the house and pulled me so hard that I started to fall over and twisted weirdly and then lost the leash and Finn TOOK OFF. I tried running after him and screamed his name after he chased the chipmunk TOWARDS THE ROAD. Luckily the chipmunk must of escaped and he came running back to me. So needless to say I can barely walk right now and I have no idea what I did to myself but it HURTS. Had to take off today.  BUT here’s a bump picture (34 weeks as of this Tuesday) to make up for me complaining:

4. Had our first BBQ of the season at my sister’s house: I had been craving grilled burgers and BBQ chicken and so I looked very forward to this meal. Hadn’t seen the kids in a while so that was nice!

 5. I got to hang out with my girlfriends more than I thought I would: The 5 of us have been BUSY (one just had a baby, 2 are buying/bought houses, 3 of us are pregnant) and I thought last month was going to be our last hangout with ALL of us for a while but we were able to get together for lunch over the holiday weekend and it made me so happy. I realize how much better my life is when we all get to hang out. I love our daily texts but face time with them is so key for me.

I read 6 books this month so I’m only going to pick 2 TOP faves which is SO hard because I read really amazing books this month.

1. Ramona Blue by Julie Murphy — Oh how I loved this one! Definitely my fave of all Julie’s books thus far!

2. All The Truth That’s In Me by Julie Berry: This came out a couple years ago and I decided to audiobook it. Totally did not want to get out of my car EVER.

5. When A Book Hits So Close To Home: Woo boy this book just hit me!

My latest What I’ve Been Reading post — I’ll be honest..I’ve been putting them off because 1) I feel like anything resembling a book review gets ignored and 2) I can’t figure out if I want to stick with these posts and completely get rid of my longer book talks that focus on one book.

1. Instagram Created A Monster: Interesting read! I’ve felt rather meh about Instagram for my book account lately personally.

2. Loaded Kimchi Fries: I NEED THESE NOW.

3. Better Probably Takes Less Time Than You Think: I am so guilty of this in some ways! Like with the dishwasher. IT LITERALLY WILL TAKE ME 2 SECONDS TO DO IT.

4. How To Change Careers:  Lots of good tidbits in here that I want to save for later. I feel discouraged being 31 and wanting to start a new career (what I don’t know) but this gave me hope.

5. Grilled Chicken Bruschetta:  YUM.

1. 100% Pure’s BB cream AND their amazing eye cream: Both are life-changers for me! The BB cream makes my face look nice and when I want a little more coverage I just put my Alima Pure powder lightly on top of it. The face cream? I can defnitely say that my under eyes look way better than before. I always hated buying eye creams because they never worked but this one is great!

2. Yasso’s frozen greek yogurt blackberry chip bars:– OHHHH these have been the perfect after dinner snack for me that doesn’t involve me eating a whole pint of Ben & Jerry’s. I literally cannot make myself say no to pregnancy cravings that are of the dessert variety.

3. Harry Styles new album: I will be honestly…I would bop around to One Direction occasionally but I would never say I was like a FAN of the band as I don’t listen to a ton of pop. I am OBSESSED with Harry Styles new album — love the songs Sign of the Times, Sweet Creature and Kiwi most of all.
