Why I Added It To My To-Be-Read list: It came in the mail and I read the back and thought it sounds fun! Set in the south! Country music band! Romance!
What It’s About: Music has always been the main character’s outlet that she learned from her grandpa when things were tough. Now 10 years later she’s in a band with her brother out on the road and trying to make it big. She’s having a hard time thinking about the drummer of their band, who she has know and been in love with since they were kids, and he won’t even recognize her as anything but his best friend’s little sister even though she swears he feels their connection to. Why I Added It To My To-Be-Read list: Well, I’ve been getting into fantasy lately (obviously) and it was on a “you may also like” for something I was looking up and it looked interesting!

Why I Added It To My To-Be-Read list: It came in the mail which I was really happy about because I liked the author’s book, 17 First Kisses. Plus revenge storylines are always fun!

Why I Added It To My Netflix Queue: I’m such a fan of JK Simmons (I’m still stabby that Growing Up Fisher was cancelled bc it was great) and after all the awards it was nominated for/won…definitely wanted to check it out.
What It Is About: “Driven by his demanding music teacher, drummer Andrew is determined to succeed as a jazz musician — even if it destroys his personality. Under the shadow of his father’s failed artistic attempts, Andrew practices until his hands bleed.”
The Theory of Everything
Why I Added It To My Netflix Queue: I’ve been curious about it since I saw previews for it and then also all the award shows gave it high praise. I know it’s going to be a hard one to watch since Will’s father passed from ALS.
What It Is About: “With his body progressively ravaged by ALS, world-famous physicist Stephen Hawking must rely on his wife, Jane, to continue his life’s work as he faces various challenges. This affecting biographical drama centers on the couple’s fertile partnership.”
Game of Thrones
Why I Added It To My Netflix Queue: BECAUSE THE WORLD WANTS ME TO WATCH THIS SHOW. I kept telling myself that I want to read the books first but if I’m honest with myself that’s probably not going to happen anytime soon PLUS Will said he was game to watch it (this is SO not his thing) so I’ve got to jump on that!
What It Is About: “Originally airing on HBO, this live-action fantasy series — based on George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” novels — charts the violent efforts of competing noble families to gain control of the vacant Westeros throne..”
MisterWives – Our Own House
Why I Added It To My Musical Rotation: I loved their single Reflections last November when I added it to my musical rotation (yes I keep detailed playlists so I know when I first listened to things haha) and they just came out with a full album at the end of February! I’ve only gotten a chance to listen to it once as a whole so far. Fave songs besides Reflections thus far: Our Own House, Hurricane, Coffins, Queens

Why I Added It To My Musical Rotation: I was looking where MisterWives was going on tour and saw they were playing with them so I checked their EP! Pretty good!

Most recent book marked as TBR is You by Caroline Kepnes, which I heard about in someone’s video. It’s about a stalker and sounds terrifying. We recently watched Whiplash and Birdman. Whiplash was really good, I’m sure you’ll like it! I’ve watched all seasons of Game of Thrones and am only just now reading the first book. Honestly, I think having seen the show first has really helped me have a frame of reference for all the characters and locations. I was afraid to read the books, thinking I wouldn’t like it since I know how things end in each book/season but I’ve been surprised so far how much I’m loving the book. I’m really torn though about watching the new season because I’m literally only halfway through book 1 and I know there is no way I could catch up on 4 books before it starts! But I’d love to be able to at least read the later books before watching their seasons. Ugggh, what to do???

OOH that sounds like a really interesting book!! Going to check that out! Thanks! Hmmm re: GoT maybe I’ll watch the first season and feel like I’ll need to read it?? It’s so hard bc those books are SO thick so it’s not like you can hurry up and binge read. GAH.

I was really interested in the Leaving Amarillo novel, because it seemed Jennifer Echols Dirty Little Secret-ish, which I HIGHLY recommend if you haven’t read it, but the point of this comment is mainly to inform you that the goodreads link takes you to another novel! I just thought that was something you’d want to be aware of, to fix, if possible. 🙂

Your netflix queue is A+, A+and A+. Whiplash is possibly the best film I’ve seen in the past year and the Theory of Everything is a tough watch but worth it. Redmayne becomes Hawking, it’s quite unnerving at times. I’ve read the Game of Thrones books, and I watch the show, and it’s not really necessary to read the books to enjoy the show. I hope you enjoy them all!

I’ve just added The Bees by Laline Paull to my TBR list after hearing rave reviews all over the place. A coworker just told me about Whiplash so I’m also hoping to watch that soon – she said it was amazing. I’ve been listening to George Ezra a ton, since I saw him open for Hozier a couple of weeks ago. Good stuff!

Ooh I’ve heard of The Bees! I’m so fascinated by the idea of it just solely for the fact it’s something different…I mean, telling a story with a bee as a narrator?! Oooh love Hozier…so jealous!! I really dig George Ezra as well!

I’m basically just here to say that you are doing the right thing by watching Game of Thrones. We are in love with it over here. Like I cannot get enough, and the wait between seasons kind of sucks. So definitely start on it. Each season (in my opinion) just keeps getting better. I did not read the books. I read the first one but it felt like work and reading shouldn’t feel like work. They seem to translate really well into a tv show so I am totally ok with not reading them (plus apparently the wait for the next book just keeps getting longer and that is something I could not handle).
For me I’ve recently added the entire Shatter Me series to my TBR (I finished the first book in like a day and LOVED it). I also added the Black Mage series by Rachel Carter. A friend of mine read it and could not recommend I pick it up more (plus at the time it was like 99 cents to get for my nook so why not?). For movies I’ve recently added Gimme Shelter (again, a friend said it was very good), Save the Date (Alison Brie and Lizzie Caplan FTW!), and I just finished binge watching The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
Vengeance Road looks super interesting and I will definitely be looking into it.

Whiplash is a really great movie, but it’s also very unique so it’s been kind of hit or miss with people I know who saw it. I liked it though! The cinematography was great and the music stuff was really well done.

I’ve been wanting to read Veronica Mars #2 since its release, but still can’t decide whether to buy a paperback or download the ebook. I’m so conflicted. I really love Veronica Mars that I feel I need to decide carefully. Does it make sense? Haha…
Anyway, I’ve watched Whiplash and it’s as good as they said it was. Go watch!

Vengeance Road sounds so excellent OMG. Also I totally thought I was the only person left who hadn’t seen/read GoT. I’ve been waiting for the time to read the books. It hasn’t happened yet; maybe I’ll follow you and just go ahead and watch the show anyway: I feel out of the loop WITH THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD.

It’s a bit of a problem really because so many books lately are making me keysmash in excitement, like THE ONE YOU JUST REVIEWED OMG.
I am a little afraid of GoT actually; I don’t know if I there is space or time in my life for another thing to EAT MY SOUL. PEOPLE KEEP TELLING ME IT WILL EAT MY SOUL.

GAME OF THRONES! YAY! I’m usally all for reading the books first, but I think watching the show makes more sense in this case. It’s high epic fantasy, and quite confusing since there’s so many characters and so much going on. I watched the first four seasons, then read the first three books, and I felt like I got a lot more out of the books because I could visualize the characters in my head while reading. I’m going to watch the next season, and then dive back into the books and try finishing the series before season 6 (ambitious, I know!)

I love Star Crossed so much. It’s an underrated gem and probably one of my most pushed books.
