5th Annual End of Year Book Survey – 2014 Edition!

2014 End Of Year Book Survey

My silly little survey I created for myself to highlight what I read in 2010 suddenly grew when a bunch of others jumped in and has turned into such a fun end of year event that I have LOVED hosting and has made my TBR list grow crazily! Seriously, 369 people linked up last year and I know even more participated on their blogs and on Youtube!! So without further ado: the 5th annual End of Year Book Survey!

I know the year isn’t over yet but, as I said in year’s past, this is the time I start reflecting on what I’ve read and start looking ahead because I NEVER get much reading done during December with the holidays and what not! I’ll be filling mine out within the next day or so but I’ll be revising if I happen to read something absolutely earth shattering that would need to be on here!

So feel to fill this out whenever you feel like it…whether that’s today or in January   — I know everybody will want to reflect at different points! Feel free to link up and share your End of Year Book Survey and visit others on the list!

Note: The survey is for books you read throughout the year, no matter when they were published, and is not limited to just books that came out in 2014!!

  1. Yeaaaaay! I already started and I can’t wait to post it & read all the posts from everyone else :) Thanks for hosting it again!

  2. Ooh, I love these end of year surveys! Will definitely be doing this! :)

  3. I always look forward to this survey and I can’t wait to fill it out soon! This is my 3rd year participating! =)

  4. Ooh I love this survey!! This will be my first one since it’s my first year of blogging, can’t wait to do it! Great questions, Jamie :) Can’t wait to see your responses!

  5. Your yearly survey is always a ton of fun to fill out! :) I’m so happy you do this every year! I’ll definitely be participating again this year, but I don’t think I’ll put mine on my blog until the beginning of January (I’m hoping to read quite a bit in December).

  6. I’m so happy you’re bringing this back, Jamie! :-) Thank you!

  7. I love your surveys because that’s how I found your blog last year. :) I would love a Least Favorite book of the year question, lol. I love talking about books I didn’t like because they help you define what you do like and find better reads. I still have a stack of 2014 big releases I didn’t get to that I hope to read in December so I will be doing this survey probably in January as well. Can’t wait to see yours!

    • YAY! I’m glad that’s what brought us together!! :)

I actually USED to have a least favorite book question the first year I did this and then got a lot of crap/feedback about it that people didn’t want to pick so I just worded it a little nicer with the “book that disappointed you” question.

  8. I can’t wait to fill this out again this year! I’ll have to make sure I go back and compare 2013’s answers with this year’s answers 😀

  9. Thank you so much for creating this:) So excited to fill out!!!

  10. Ooh I’m new enough this year that I didn’t know of this little feature but it’s such a good one! I can’t wait to participate myself, and to see the answers you and everyone else posts as well!

  11. This was a fun distraction today! It means my Christmas tree is only partially up, but my post is mostly written. I’ll wait to post for a couple weeks since I’m hoping to read a few more books in December.

  12. YAYYYY!! I love this survey!! This year I’m hoping all the reviewers on my blog complete it so I can post four days in a row of this survey. 😀 Thanks for hosting and coming up with excellent questions Jamie!

  13. Can’t wait to get started on my list! Love taking part in your surveys!
How about a ‘Favourite Book to Film Adaptation of the year?’ question? There are tons of books being made into films at the moment and I love hearing peoples thoughts on them! Thanks again for hosting this! :)

  14. I LOVE doing this survey! It is SOO much fun! Thank you Jamie! I’m bookmarking it on my laptop!

  15. Fun! I want to try this. Is it okay if I translate these questions into Finnish for my blog?

  16. Yay! I always find this survey so much fun. It does take me a couple of days to answer all the questions though, because it is LONG! Haha.
Thanks for hosting the survey again, and I look forward to reading yours!

  17. I LOVE and look forward to your end of the year survey! Just finished mine 😉
    http://thepaperbackstash.blogspot.com/2014/12/2014-end-of-year-book-survey.html

  18. I love this survey!! I am going to slowly fill in my responses over the next few weeks…it’s so hard for me to try to do a unique book for each. I love to kinda stew on it though. Helps me re,e,ber and recap so well! :)

  19. Great post. Going to try to do this myself by the end of the year.

  20. Thank you for hosting this! It sounds like a great idea of an overview of all the books we’ve read :)

  21. Thanks for hosting this end of the year book survey again Jamie, I really enjoy filling it out each year! :) Hope you had a lovely Christmas, and all the best in the new year!

  22. It’s the first time I’m participating, this is a really cool survey 😀
    Happy New Year y’all!

  23. It’s the first time I’m doing this but I had such a blast answer this bunch of quiestions!!

  24. Finally got my survey filled out! It’s a long post, but I love doing it.. It was hard bc there were so many more I wanted to include haha :)

  25. This is the first time I participated and it was so much fun! No wonder it’s now 5 years old. Thank you for creating this! ^.^

  26. I just did my survey. It was so much fun!

  27. You’ve done such an amazing job! Thank you so much for hosting this!

  28. I don’t think I count as an entry, because I didn’t answer the questions directly: just used them as a springboard for my own post. But I thought I’d let you know that I did that anyway, in case you were interested. :) http://www.miriamjoywrites.com/2014/12/30/books-of-the-year/

Thanks for the questions! I would’ve answered them directly, except I’ve (a) done a lot of Q&A posts on my blog recently and (b) some of them didn’t entirely apply to me so would’ve been really hard to answer.

  29. First year participating, and it was a lot of fun! Thank you! :)

As far as suggestions, the only thing I could think of was earliest published/most recently published, kind of going along with the shortest/longest question.

  30. I finally did it! Thanks for a great post idea 😀

  31. I enjoyed this survey, but since I only read 20 books I didn’t have much to choose from… But it was still fun! xD

  32. This was such an awesome survey, it was my first time doing it and I had SO much fun! :)

  33. Thanks for this- it was fun to look back on the books!

  34. DAMN this survey got popular! Haha. Way to go! Here’s my wrap-up: http://www.candicedoestheworld.com/2015/01/2014-reading-challenge/

  35. I always look forward to this survey. It helps me look back at the year and forward to the next.

  36. I love this survey. So glad you put this together again this year. I am working on mine right now and will post the link when I’m finished.

  37. Are you going to be coming out with a 2015 edition?
