This week’s topic: Top Ten 2014 Releases I’m Dying To Have
There are SOOOOOO MANY 2014 books I want. You can follow my Catalog Creepin’ adventures to see more! OH AND ALSO apparently there is an unnamed John Green novel coming out in 2014. I WANT THAT. If it had a name and a cover it would be on this list officially. BUT I WANT IT.
2014 Books I’ve Already Read But Would Have Made This List FOR SURE!
Ignite Me: I told myself I would only allow myself ONE sequel on this list because I just talked about my most anticipated sequels and lots of them were 2014 releases. But IGNITE ME HAD TO BE ON THIS LIST. I know Tahereh Mafi is going to be evil and rip my heart out but I will love it. I know it. I will love the pain she dishes out.
Isla & the Happily Ever After: I am a Stephanie Perkins fangirl and I have waited ever so patiently (errr as patiently as humanly possible) for this book. If you haven’t read her novels you still have time before this comes out — get on it and pick up Anna and the French Kiss and Lola and the Boy Next Door.
Landline Rainbow Rowell: I love all things Rainbow Rowell and I want this sooooo bad. Both of her releases this year (Eleanor & Park and Fangirl) have been favorites this year.
Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson: I’m two for two with Morgan Matson’s books and I would like very much to get my hands on this and continue that streak.
The Museum of Intangible Things by Wendy Wunder: This just sounds like a me book and I’ve been wanting it since I’ve heard about it.
Lies My Girlfriend Told Me: I’ve read one book from this author and thought it was really strong and the premise for this one sounds excellent! I’ve just become more and more excited about it ever since I heard about it.
The Impossible Knife of Memory: Anytime there is a new LHA book coming out it is going to make my list!
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before: Love Jenny Han and this sounds fantastic!
Searching For Sky by Jillian Cantor: Her recent release, Margot, is on my list but I haven’t read it yet but this sounds AWESOME and very different. The summary says it’s a “reverse dystopia” and I love dystopians and haven’t wanted to give them up yet despite a huge flux of mediocre ones. I THINK THIS ONE IS GOING TO BE FAB.
Dissonance by Erica O’Rourke: I’m rather obsessed by the idea of parallel lives sooo I’m DYING for this one!
So tell me…what are YOU dying for in 2014? I can’t even contain myself!! SO MANY GOOD BOOKS! This list easily could have been 50.

ISLAAAAAAAAAA, yes, me too!!! Oh, and yes, THE IMPOSSIBLE KNIFE OF MEMORY! You also have books on there that I haven’t heard of yet! And others that I know I’ll read! Oh, LOVE LETTERS is a book that was a Top 5 Spotlight a couple weeks ago for me with a special mention now!

Seeing Landline on your list makes me a bit ashamed that I still haven’t read Eleanor & Park or Fangirl. I had Fangirl at BEA and put it back down because I didn’t like the cover. Definitely time to read both of them!

We only have Ignite me on our list – very excited! .. though I am one behind haha. Gotta catch up! I’m definitely going to go check out more from your list though! I have FINALLY started really getting into contemporaries and some of those covers are seriously grabbing my attention 😀

Isla! So hoping that it actually, definitely comes out next year. It’s been pushed back too many times! I’m so excited to finally devour it!

I totally agree with you, I have a feeling my heart is totally going to suffer with Ignite Me! I don’t think I’ve heard of the rest of the books you’ve listed except for Since You’ve Been Gone, so I will definitely have to check the rest out! Brilliant list Jamie! 🙂

Looking at your list I see now that I forgot so many!! Like Isla and Since You’ve Been Gone! I still have to read Shatter Me, but I’ll read that soon. Even better is that I can now read the whole Shatter Me series back to back, so no anxiously waiting on sequels with this series for me. We Were Liars is on my list too, and I’m totally going in blind when I’ll read that one.

A thousand yes about the John Green’s new book. That man is like a genius writing machine. I can’t help loving his books. All of the characters are so unique that if I don’t get all of them for friends as a Christmas present this year I will get seriously mad at the world. And the world doesn’t want to see me mad.

I can’t believe I still haven’t read a Rainbow book yet. I gotta do it. That cover is so freaking cool, but so are her others so that can’t be my excuse! Obviously I’m excited for Ignite Me… hoping for chapter sixty-betty. Also looking forward to We Were Liars and Love Letters to the Dead! Nice list, doyke!!

Ignite Me!!!!! I just read Fangirl this year and loved it so I will basically read anything Rainbow Rowell writes now. I have E&P just have to read it and I’m sure I’ll be buying Attachments soon. I really want to read We Were Liars after your raving Save the Date post on it. 🙂 I really want to read Love Letters to the Dead. Glad to see that you liked it. 🙂

I hadn’t heard of DISSONANCE, but it looks kind of great. Parallel universes/lives is an idea that can be done really well in YA, I think. Putting it on my wishlist… now! Thanks for sharing!

Awesome list! Isla and Love Letters to the Dead are really intriguing. I can’t wait! I think 2014 will have some awesome new releases! I’m so glad you included Rainbow Rowell. I really love her books. I am looking forward to reading her book Attachments this month. It’s an adult book and sounds wonderful!

Ignite Me and Since You’ve Been Gone are on mine as well, and Dissonance almost made it (but was displaced by Erased by Jennifer Rush :D). I can’t believe I forgot Love Letters To the Dead though! I was declined on NG so now I have to rely on everyone else to tell me if it’s good – and now I get to pick up my own copy when it’s released.
