The summer has always been a hard time for me as a blogger. I hate being inside. I want to be outside doing things and enjoying the weather because it’s my favorite kind of weather and summer always has great activities to take part in! I feel so unmotivated to sit and blog when I could be hiking or at an outside flea market or laying by the pool. Not only that but I came off a really big, weird blogging slump where I got so discouraged with how serious everything was becoming that I feel like I’m JUST getting back into the groove and I’m feeling like I want to get back to the basics of what I love about all of this: the fun of it all!
So I decided for the next few Fridays I just want to have some fun and just talk about books in non-serious ways and let you guys get to know me a little better! Feel free to join me(and link back) if you are feeling like you want to let down your metaphorical blogging hair and do something silly to relieve some pressure off your blogging shoulders as summer starts to wind down.

I agree with pretty much everything. Except for The Book Thief. I have tried reading it multiple times and I just can’t stand it. So the books I’d pass on to my kids would be the HP series OR if I had a daughter, the Anne of Green Gables series.

I’ve been thinking of doing one of the first two surveys you made, but laziness can be a powerful things 😀 But I did this one! All three are amazing (I wish I had your brain!!).
I absolutely agree about Aria and Roar! It was so good to finally read about a completely ordinary relationship between a girl and a boy <3 And I agree about Lola being so creative! She's kind of amazing with all her wigs and her clothes and her everything!! And Cricket would be one of the few boys girls would be comfortable to take to their parents 😀 If they want to give them a heart-attack, on the other hand, there's plenty to chose from.
And I still haven't read Just One Day 😐 Even though I have it! So I'll remedy that soon, because I don't want to be the odd kid on the block anymore, haha!

It really IS amazing to see an ordinary relationship btwn a guy/girl and not have it be a romance. I had SO many guy friends and yes, some of them obviously ones of us maybe had FEELINGS, but most of mine were truly just friendship. WHY IS THAT SO UNCOMMON IN YA??!

I think I would pass The Book Thief onto my children, whenever I have them, but only because I didn’t enjoy it much as an adult – I would hope they could see what I must has missed.

Leonard Peacock was awesome!! I also love it because it’s set in Philly — that always adds a little specialness to a book/movie when it’s your city! I got giddy over Silver Linings for that too! OBVIOUSLY other reasons too but I can’t help it!

What a great idea. I can’t believe you went through all those books to assign superlatives to these. Very cool. I don’t read much YA so I know very little about a lot of the books here. Can’t say I disagree with your choices, but since I know nothing about these I will take your word for it. 🙂

MY EYES HURT SO BAD. Will was genuinely concerned for me and said, “Maybe take a break from that book?” He knew what it was about bc I told him so he knew it was hitting me very personally.

Too fun! I was laughing so hard at the superlatives when I was flipping through my yearbooks (we had the superlatives in middle school TOO so double the fun). The girl who won best hair? Her hair looked a hot mess in the pic. lol. Not on purpose either! I’m also mad because I have way better eyes than the girl who won “best eyes”…damn me being the newish kid in 9th grade when we had that category! I’m curious now how you integrate them into your reviews bc this was hard as HELL just for one post! *off to check out your review format*
