Why I Added It To My To-Be-Read list: It sounds REALLY unique plus the cover is gorgeous! Very intrigued by the speculative element!
What It’s About: A story about a girl and her sister who flee El Salvador and get caught trying to enter the US illegally. The only way to get asylum and ensure their safety is to participate in a risky experimental study as a grief keeper.

Why I Added It To My To-Be-Read list: I saw an account on Instagram talking about it and it piqued my interest!
What It’s About: A young white girl in Apartheid-era South Africa and a mom who has lost her daughter connect after tragedy strikes their family when the woman, who is still desperately looking for her missing daughter, is hired to help care for the young girl after her parents die. They create a close bond through their loss and the thought of losing this mother-like figure in her life drives her to make a terrible decision with huge consequences.

Why I Added It To My To-Be-Read list: I was looking for some new post apocalyptic books to read on Goodreads and stumbled up on this.
What It’s About: It starts with the first man to lose his shadow, something that science can’t explain, and then more follow. The shadow-less people gain a strange new power but lose their memories. A married couple thinks they’ve escaped it until one day the wife’s shadow disappears prompting her to run away because she doesn’t want to be dangerous to her husband as she loses her memories. He follows her trek in hopes to find her before her memories are completely gone.
You Owe Me A Murder by Eileen Cook
Publication Date: March 2019
Why I Added It To My To-Be-Read list: I had mentioned I was reading thrillers right now because they’ve just been what I’ve needed in my distracted mood and my pal who works at HMH sent it to me!
What It’s About: A teen fantasizes a plot to murder her ex boyfriend who dumped her with a stranger on a plan. They joke about swapping murders, which she assumes WAS a joke, until her ex boyfriend ends up dead and she’s being framed by this stranger if she doesn’t fulfill her side of the deal but committing the stranger’s murder.

Why I Added It To My To Watch Queue: So much buzz about it especially after awards season. Need to read the book first though!!
What It Is About: “A woman in Harlem desperately scrambles to prove her fiancé innocent of a crime while carrying their first child.”
Why I Added It To My To Watch Queue: I’m such a huge fan of Sandra Oh — literally watched Grey’s from day 1 when it aired and fell in love with her.
What It Is About: “A security operative hunts for an assassin. Based on the Villanelle novellas by Luke Jennings. ”
Why I Added It To My To Watch Queue: It’s one of those shows that has been on my radar (mostly because I love my girl Keri Russell since her Felicity days)
What It Is About: “At the height of the Cold War two Russian agents pose as your average American couple, complete with family. ”

Why I Added It To My Listening Rotation: Broods is one of my faves so I’m excited they have a new album out! I’ve only given it a quick run through (minus the singles I have been listening to) but can’t wait to listen to it more!

Why I Added It To My Listening Rotation: I HAVE BEEN A FAN OF COPELAND SINCE 2003!! Part of my college soundtrack for sure. I am HERE for their new stuff. Definitely in my rotation right now.

You HAVE to watch Killing Eve! Sandra Oh is great in it, but Jodie Comer (who plays Villanelle) is incredible – she’s so addictive to watch. I’d definitely recommend the show!

As far as shows go, you should totally check out The Umbrella Academy on Netflix. I AM OBSESSED. Binged it in two days (and it probably would have been one if I had been single with no baby lolll). But seriously, everything about it is amazing from the story to the characters to the music! Highly recommend!

The Griefkeeper sounds super interesting to me since I actually lived in El Salvador for a year and a half (and there aren’t that many books I’ve heard of that reference it). Does it talk much about the country? Have you gotten far enough into it to know? Anyway, I’ll have to look more into that one!
