Why I Added It To My To-Be-Read list: So I had HEARD of it prior to BEA but didn’t really KNOW anything about it so it was on my “to check out” list in my head. I had the awesome opportunity to attend a breakfast hosted by Harlequin Teen and Eleanor Herman was there and SHE is awesome and this book sounds like an awesome historical fantasy that I CANNOT wait to dive into.
What It’s About: A re-imagining of Alexander the Great with a fantasy twist!!

Why I Added It To My To-Be-Read list: I really enjoyed Catherine McKenzie’s Arranged and have her other books on my TBR list for when I’m wanting an adult fiction book!
What It’s About: Two ex-friends + family issues + a wildfire that threatens their town

Why I Added It To My To-Be-Read list: While at BEA the lovely ladies at the Novl (Little Brown’s YA community) presented this during a brunch and it sounded SO good. Honestly, I’ve never read a book with a blind MC. I hadn’t heard of it before! I AM SO BEHIND ON NEW RELEASES.
What It’s About: It follows Parker, a girl who happens to be blind, during her junior year as she navigates through school, guys, the social scene and more as she tries to follow her “Rules.”
Daughters Unto Devils by Amy Lukavics ( Amazon // Goodreads)
Release Date: September 29, 2015
Why I Added It To My To-Be-Read list: While at the Harlequin brunch I mentioned before we got to chat with an incredibly awesome editor there and he was majorly talking about this one and he said it was scary and I’m like NO BUT I WANT LIKE TRULY TERRIFYING and he assured me it was. SO YAY. It’s hard for me to find books that scare me.
What It’s About: A family moves to the prairie where things are just NOT right — starting with the blood they find in the new cabin they are to live in that was abandoned by its previous owners. Tales of evil and murder in this new town weigh on the main character who is trying to get away from a past that already haunts her.

Why I Added It To My Netflix Queue: I asked for binge watching recs on Twitter and Meg, whose tv recs are always pretty in tune with things I like, suggested it and all I did was read the summary and I’m like YEP. SOON THIS WILL HAPPEN.
What It Is About: “From the creators of “The Matrix” and “Babylon 5″ comes this tense series in which eight people can telepathically experience each other’s lives.”
Rudderless
Why I Added It To My Netflix Queue: It just looked like something I’d be into — emotional and just a very *ME* feel. I can just tell sometimes? I also really liked Anton Yelchin in Like Crazy so I’m interested to see him in something else.
What It Is About: “Devastated over his son’s death, former ad exec Sam removes himself from society to drink away his grief. When he summons the will to perform his son’s songs at a local bar, the music gains popularity and Sam claims to have written the tunes himself.”

Why I Added It To My Netflix Queue: I love unlikely friendship!!

Ryn Weaver — The Fool
Why I Added It To My Musical Rotation: I have featured some of her singles (Octahate & Runaway) in my Monthly Rewinds in the past year or so and I’ve been DYING for this album to come out!! I’ve only listened to it once but I’m digging it!
James Bay — Chaos & the Calm
Why I Added It To My Musical Rotation: I had been digging his singles and it was LOVE AT FIRST LISTEN when I heard Let It Go & If You Ever Want To Be In Love last August and I just kept falling in love with the other singles — especially Hold Back the River! This has been on repeat A LOT since it came out!
Zella Day — Kicker
Why I Added It To My Musical Rotation: At the end of last year I stumbled upon her singles East of Eden and Hypnotic and decided to follow her on Spotify so I could be alerted of new stuff because I LOVED those two songs. Really enjoying this album!

I have Jellicor Road on my queue because it sounds amazing(albeit heartbreaking!).
Ooh, Not If I See You First seems very interesting. I love the diverse portagonists that have been coming up!
Ah, in my music rotation, I am obsessed with Panic! At the Disco’s song, Nicotine and their latest album in general. I’ve heard East of Eden and loved it. I need to explore more of Zella Day’s music.
You always have amazing tastes so I’ll have to check out the rest!

It was only last night that I heard about Legacy of Kings – ummm Middle Eastern fantasy + Alexander the Great?! YES PLEASE.
Last night Matt and I were browsing around for something to watch and I decided to see what Sense8 was all about – people on twitter are absolutely loving it right now! I’ve only watched the trailers but it certainly seems intriguing.

As usual, going to check out all your music…I recently added Angel Olsen’s Burn Your Fire For No Witness to my playlists – I saw her perform just last week and her voice is SICK. I think you might like it. Very lo-fi, slightly Hank Williams-esque dark love songs. Also, have you listened to any Frog Eyes? They’re a little crazy, but you might want to check them out.
Why haven’t I heard of Rudderless? I love Billy Crudup, and this sounds so emotional…should have watched it on Father’s Day, haha! Thanks for making me aware of it!

I just added Hello, Goodbye and Everything in between to my list, unfortunately it doesn’t come out until September 1st.
Television, I want to finish watching 4400 and Gilmore Girls so I haven’t added much.
On the music side of things, one of my coworkers said the album The Resistance by Muse is basically about 1984 so the bookish nerd part of me likes that idea.

I just added Daughter Unto Devils and Not if I See You First to my TBR and Sense8 to my Netflix list thanks to this post. Before this post I had added A School for Unusual Girls because I won a copy and hadn’t added it to Goodreads yet. And I have just finished the first season of Orange is the New Black and can’t wait to finish, but I can only watch at night because I have a 3 year old who doesn’t nap any more. As for music, I mostly listen to the radio while driving, but have had Honey I’m Good by Andy Grammer stuck in my head.

OMG watch Rudderless right now! It’s sooooooo good. I got home one day and my husband had just finished it. He said sit right down now, we are watching this movie. So interested in what people think of this movie, I’ve recommended it a lot!

Have you seen the music doc Austin to Boston? I watched it recently (on netflix) & really enjoyed it. It follows a few British indie bands (that you’ll recognize) as they tour the US (from Austin to Boston, literally). The music is amazing and made me want to go see one of their shows. Check it out if you have time.

I just finished watching Sense8 and I can tell you, BEST.SHOW.EVER.
Just added some of those books to my TBR list as well, I’m getting behind on all the books I want to read (I’m reading 4 at the same time now) but I always let one skip the line every now and then. It just happens that they’re so many! and I’m finishing law school and trying to find a job, I wish I could just get a job at publishing and could read all day long (and get paid to do it!)…LOL

As for TV, I just got finished Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt on Netflix and am now starting Chasing Life.
And music? Still obsessed with the Think Up Anger cover of “Smells Like Teen Spirit” from The Gallows trailer. Because DAMN.

No recollection of doing so, but I was impressed with myself. Also Daughters Unto Devils sounds amazing. I, too, have a hard time finding books that actually scare me.
