Why I Added It To My To-Be-Read list: Estelle raved about it!
What It’s About: Charley has it all…until she doesn’t after she breaks her leg in three places and everything falls apart. While she is out of work for a bit she finds herself bored and ends up finding she has a knack for helping people with their online love life by ghost writing for them. She finds her life starting to change after starts writing to a man from a client — someone who she has started to fall in love with herself.

Why I Added It To My To-Be-Read list: I love adult historical fiction and it was a title that was at BEA (but I’m so sad because I didn’t snag it). It sounds so intriguing.
What It’s About: The main character receives a miniature house that is the mirror image of her own from her new husband and soon has pieces to fill the house that mirror their real household from a miniaturist who is unknown to her. Through the miniatures she starts to piece together her new family and their secrets.
The Book of Unknown Americans by Cristina Henriquez (Amazon // Goodreads)

Why I Added It To My To-Be-Read list: It sounds INCREDIBLE. I don’t know how I came about it but I read the summary and I was like YEAH I NEED THIS.
What It’s About: The story of the love between a Panamanian boy (whose family immigrated 15 years ago) and a Mexican girl (who survived a devastating accident in Mexico) who live in the same apartment block with other immigrant families like themselves.

Why I Added It To My To-Be-Read list: I got it in the mail and I love the cover plus it sounds like a book I would like because I LOVE books where the social hierarchy is challenged and a main character really explores the person they portray to others and they person they ARE.
What It’s About: Anika is super popular and keeps all the weird things and quirks about her under wraps to maintain her social status. When a boy, who would be classified as a loner nerd by her friends, comes back in the Fall looking extremely hot and full of mystery she wants to befriend him but knows what she has to lose socially if she does.
Why I Added It To My Netflix Queue: After I saw The Fault In Our Stars I wanted to see what other movies Josh Boone directed and I saw this one and it looked like a movie I would like!
What It Is About: “This quirky tale follows a year in the lives of the Borgens clan, which is in a tailspin thanks to the family patriarch’s obsession with his ex-wife.”

Why I Added It To My Netflix Queue: I really, really like Cate Blanchett.
What It Is About: “The high life leads to high anxiety for a fashionable New York City homemaker in crisis who finds herself forced to live a more modest lifestyle in San Francisco. Woody Allen directs an ensemble cast that includes Cate Blanchett and Alec Baldwin.”
Why I Added It To My Netflix Queue: I wasn’t really interested in it when it first came out but lots of people have been talking about it SO I must give it a try.
What It Is About: “From the creator of “Weeds” comes a heartbreaking and hilarious series set in a women’s prison. Piper trades her comfortable life for an orange jumpsuit and finds unexpected conflict and camaraderie amidst an eccentric group of inmates.”
First Aid Kit – Stay Gold
Why I Added It To My Musical Rotation: First Aid Kit is one of my favorites since I discovered their songs Our Own Pretty Ways & EmmyLou. Their voices are magic so this has been on my calendar and FINALLY YESTERDAY it was released.

Why I Added It To My Musical Rotation: At the risk of sounding like a snob (which is NOT my intention), I discovered Passenger well before Let Her Go became the huge phenomena it has become. (LOVE THAT SONG). I’ve loved his stuff and I’ve been WAITING IMPATIENTLY for the new album and it just released yesterday and GAHHH SO GOOD.

Stuck in Love is a really cute movie. I think you’ll like it, Jamie. I guess I shouldn’t say “cute” because that’s not the vibe it sends. But I liked it a whole lot! For whatever reason I’ve never been a Passenger fan. I think I missed that boat. However, I do want to check out First Aid Kit.

Evan is binge-watching Adventure Time, which is an animated TV show that he says is up there with Buffy, Angel, etc as one of his favourite shows ever. So now I have to watch it. I’ve only heard amazing things – it’s kind of funny and philosophical at the same time?
I still haven’t watched Orange Is the New Black. On my list. I’ve also put Stuck in Love on my list now!
Must listen to that Passenger album. Lately I’ve been listening to the If/Then soundtrack (of course), and the new Mirah album, which I think you’ll like, Jamie! =)

I really enjoyed “Stuck in Love” (I watched because I will watch anything with Kristen Bell even it’s a small part). It actually bummed me out that it didn’t make theatres (or if it did, not for long).

That’s actually a really decent list. The Book of Unknown Americans sounds like very interesting, and I’ve just added it to my Goodreads. Anatomy of a Misfit sounds promising, too. The Miniaturist isn’t in the genre I usually read, but the cover is gorgeous and the synopsis makes me curious to find out more about it.
To be honest, I don’t know a lot about Netflix. Is “Orange Is the New Black” exclusively available on there? Because I’ve been meaning to check it out, as everyone and their mother is talking about it.

I finally got a copy of COHF today, so that is definitely on my TBR list this June. Also, I recently bought Love Letters to the Dead which I can’t wait to start reading. Anatomy of A Misfit sounds so good and I hope you enjoy it! I watched Stuck In Love a while ago because of Lily Collins & Logan Lerman and I was really surprised by how much I liked it. Hopefully you’ll like it just as much! My friend is obsessed with Orange is the New Black and she’s been begging me to watch it. I’m not sure if I’ll start it, but I’ve only really heard positive things about it!

Stuck in Love is such a good movie. I think you’ll really like it. I also recently started watching Orange is the New Black, as well as Call the Midwife. Thoroughly enjoying both. For music, I just purchased The Secret Sisters’ new album Put Your Needle Down. It’s a little different than what I usually listen to, but very good. I’ll have to check out your music recs now 🙂

Stuck in Love was really good! It wasn’t the quirky romantic comedy I thought it was going to be, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Anatomy of a Misfit looks really good and so does the Miniaturist!! I just added Akata Witch by Nnedi Okorafor. It’s been out since 2011, but I only just heard of it, and it sounds amazing!

I added Sandy Hall’s A Little Something Different very recently! It won’t be out until next month, but it really sounds fun (see: baristas, matchmaking, basically everything adorbz) and promising. I’ve also been repeatedly listening to the TFiOS movie soundtrack. Feelsssssssss.

I am seriously so, so intrigued by The Miniaturist! I love that cover, first of all. But the story sounds really compelling and I can totally see myself enjoying it. I’ll be waiting on a few opinions from trusted blogger friends, but I also don’t think I’ll be able to resist this one!

Stuck in Love! I watched that one recently (ish). While my friends didn’t like it, I really did. I don’t know, there’s just something about the characters and the way their life that year is portrayed that really resonated with me. I hope you enjoy it too!
