I miss doing roundups of Riley’s favorite things and our favorite baby things like I was doing during the first year of her life and I don’t talk about my favorite things nearly enough (except in my monthly recaps) so I thought it might be fun to, every couple months, talk about our current favorite things.
(If you missed those: must-have newborn items, 3-6 month baby favorites, 6-12 month favorites)

Jamie’s Favorite Things Lately
1. Dax Shephard’s Armchair Expert podcast: I’ve been REALLY enjoying this podcast!! Very interesting always!
2. My new joggers from Old Navy: Old Navy was having an activewear sale and I bought a couple of cute leggings and stuff for my whole athleisure mom look I have going on right now but these joggers are literally the most comfortable and I want them in the other colors. I put on a cute tee and my jean jacket and I semi look like I’m not lounging.

3. My new prompt journal: I talked about this before but prompt-based journalling has revolutionized my life and my brain space and I got a new one that I love and have been doing daily.

4. Yogi Relaxed Mind Tea: I’ve been stockpiling new teas for Fall/Winter and I grabbed this one so I can be more ~relaxed~…I don’t know if it works but I FEEL like it helps wind me down.

5. Manifest: I didn’t pick up any new shows to add to my watch list this Fall except this one and I’m SUPER enjoying it thus far. I need to know what’s going on!!!

Riley’s Favorite Things Lately
I feel like this section should just basically be like — Finn’s tennis ball, the remote control, cords, dumping Finn’s water dish, climbing on the couch and random boxes — because those are her favorite things. BUT I SWEAR SHE HAS OTHER FAVORITE THINGS.
1. Her Hape drum set: I got this for her 1st birthday and she hasn’t seemed super into it until recently! We’ve been jamming out OFTEN. I come in with the tambourine HARD. I have zero musical abilities. BUT I’ve gotten Riley so many musical instruments because they are FUN. I got her this tambourine and also this whole set of musical stuff for the maracas. Some of the other stuff I bring out to play with but I don’t leave it out for her to play with freely like I do the drums, maracas and tambourine because it’s meant for older kids and there’s definitely some joking hazards — especially those bells which one DID fall off.

2. Her ride on bike: Our walkway is sloped going up to the driveway so her new favorite thing (and if you follow me on Instagram you’ve probably seen it) is walking this up the walkway and then riding it down (which scares the crap out of me because she’s wild and fast but I try to be a calm cool and collected mama and let her be). She always tries to balance balls and other assorted items on the bike and push them up there and gets so mad when they fall. Thinking I need to get her a play grocery cart or a baby stroller or something for how often she tries to push things around. Anyone have any recommendations for good ones?

3. Veggie sticks: Typically her snacks are fruit/cheese/yogurt but I’ve been trying to get some non-perishable easy snacks and veggie sticks have been her jam lately.
4. Duck & Goose Find A Pumpkin: This girl is obsessed with this book! OBSESSED. It gets read multiple times a day. It’s a perfect Fall book for your toddler!

5. Her “remote” that she acts like is a cell phone: Oh man my dad bought her this toy and this toy is the epitome of all things I hate so I put it in a bag to put in the car with her “car toys” bag (a thing I like to have for the car or should we be somewhere and I need a toy to distract her) so I wouldn’t have to see it often. SHE IS OBSESSED WITH THIS THING. I can’t even tell you. She holds it up to her head and has her neck tilted like she’s holding the phone up to her ear all, “Um Karen, that’s not what we discussed.” I keep trying to snap a picture of it but very hard to do while driving and she always seems to put it down when we stop. It was probably a bad idea to have to listen to it trapped in the car but it keeps her entertained but I just turn my podcast or my music up a little louder to make it not as obnoxious.

So that’s what we’ve been loving lately! We’ll see how often I remember to do these posts! I told Will that next time I do one of these posts he is going to be included so fingers crossed I can actually make that happen. He has been loving the new FIFA for his X-box lately!
What have YOU been loving lately that you feel like you just need to share with someone?

Just added that remote toy to D’s wishlist, thanks! I’ve been eyeing the joggers from old Navy too. 😁

Fun favourites, Jamie! The weather is starting to warm up over here and I’m loving how cute my bub looks in his lil shorts and romper suits! Up until now he has mostly just been in long sleeved, long legged sleeper suits and somehow having bare arms & legs just makes him look like such a little boy.
I am not, however, loving this cough that I can’t seem to shake, especially when he’s almost asleep and then I cough and wake him up…so frustrating. :'(

Those joggers look SO comfy! Pretty sure I need some. 🙂
…also YAY for a fellow ‘Manifest’ fan. Lovin’ this show.

One thing I have learned over my many years is to buy about six or eight of anything when you absolutely love them (like your joggers). I just bought six pair of a certain style of leggings for around the house because they are so comfortable. I have two tunic length hoodies I adore, and I noticed they are starting to look a bit worn. I wish I had bought five or six more of them because I can’t find anything similar now. 😕
