This week’s topic: Top Ten Books On My Fall 2014 To-Be-Read List
1. Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver: I KNOW I KNOW. I can’t believe I haven’t read this either. More embarrassingly I bought this when it first came out.
2. The Miseducation of Cameron Post by Emily M. Danforth: I’ve had this book on my shelf for a while but I’ve seen some talk about this book being challenged or something and so I want to give my support and read it.
3. Vision In White by Nora Roberts: My lovely friend Jen sent this to me and it’s time to get to it! This cover is BEAUTIFUL.
4. Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch: Been really digging fantasy so we’ll try a new release! A kingdom is conquered, its people are enslaved and magic is taken away. Until there is talk of a way to get the magic back!
5. Glory O’Brien’s History of the Future by AS King: A.S King is a brilliant writer and this one sounds so goooood. The main character develops the ability to see the infinite past and future — and the future looks AWFUL for the world. She doesn’t want this future to come true so she tries to figure out HOW to make sure it doesn’t.
6. Even In Paradise by Chelsey Philpot: This books just screams a Jamie book amirite? A girl becomes friends with the former senator’s daughter when she shows up as the new girl in school. She’s thrown into Julia’s world and sparks fly with Julia’s brother. Also, A SECRET TRAGEDY.
7. Forbidden by Kimberley Griffiths Little: LOVE STORY IN ANCIENT MESOPOTAMIA. THAT IS ALL.
8. The Walled City by Ryan Graudin: A lawless labyrinth run by crime lords and overrun by street gangs and the main characters try to escape it!
9. Playlist For The Dead by Michelle Falkoff: A boy tries to figure out why his best friend committed suicide by listening to a playlist that he left for him.
10. Twisted Fate by Norah Olson: The new boy next door brings very differing feelings to these two sisters — one crushes on him and one thinks his mysterious ways screams psychopath and tries to protect her sister. She finds herself drawn to him too and simultaneously right and wrong about the things she thinks about him. Says for fans of We Were Liars & Mara Dyer soooo YAY.

I recently read Glory O’Brien and yyeeeeeeeeeessssss. It was amazing. Amazing amazing. AS King is a genius. I think it might be hard to get past the characters (as they aren’t the MOST likable people in the world) but it is so worth it. And Glory is SO COOL. I cannot praise this book enough! Or the author! Each of her books are so different, it’s so hard to pick a favorite.

I have seen Snow Like Ashes around a lot this week and I have to admit… I’m very intrigued! Playlist for The Dead looks like it’s going to be an emotional, but amazing read.

I read Before I Fall at the start of the year and I loved it. Such a clear book. I’ve not read any of the others, so naturally I think that should be top of your list.
Now you’ve reminded me about Lauren Oliver, Pandemonium is now top of my reading list.

You’ll love Cameron Post 🙂 it was such a cool story and the writing had this whimsical quality to it. Definitely one of my favourite LGBT books.

Snow Like Ashes sounds simply amazing. I got to interview the author for a blog tour and it just made me so much more excited to read it! And my blog partner keeps telling me she cannot wait for me to read Glory O’Brien’s History of the Future. She raved about it so I’m really looking forward to that one too!

I recently read GLORY O’BRIEN and omg it is soooooo good. Sometimes it felt a little heavy-handed BUT I love Amy and I love all her books and think it is a fabulous addition to my AS King shelf 😉 I do have to say please please please put BEFORE I FALL first!!!! It is AMAZING and one of my favorite books ever. a TOTAL Jamie book, but not only that it’s like Mean Girls meets Groundhog’s day 🙂

Great list!! I haven’t read Before I Fall yet, but I loved Lauren Oliver’s Delirium series and Panic. Even in Paradise is another book on my TBR list. I hope you enjoy all of your fall books.

Ooo, I liked Vision in White. I used to love reading Nora Roberts, and although I don’t read them much any more, I would like to get back into her books. I love that cover, too!! All four books in the series have pretty covers.

Twisted Fate is new to me. I’ll add it to my giant tbr list. I have Snow Like Ashes and Glory O’Brien on my list, but I wish I could have done a top 20 this week because I forgot about quite a few books. I’d definitely add The Walled City. Before I Fall is my favorite book ever, so I hope you like it. It changed the way I look at the world around me. Happy Fall reading!

Yay for The Miseducation of Cameron Post! I’m offering the chance to win it in my Banned Books Giveaway – http://confessionsofabookgeek.wordpress.com/2014/09/21/banned-books-week-giveaway/ I think the story is that it was banned in book stores and actually took off the shelves, so a local independent started giving them away for free for as long as stocks lasted to circulate it!!

I can’t wait for Snow Like Ashes! I love fantasy and I’ve heard such great things. Plus the coverrrr *drooling*. Forbidden sounds amazing, I love historical fiction in lesser-known time periods. Ancient Mesopotamia will be fascinating 😀
Unmade and Blue Lily, Lily Blue are at the top of my list, along with a bunch of books I bought over the summer. Must start reading!

I stopped reading Nora Roberts’s novels a long time ago because when I was a teenager I read about 30 from her, so I needed a break! But a couple of years ago I bought Vision in White, I think that very same edition (with the textured paper/worn edges?) because it really looked so beautiful! I’ve had it on my desk for months now, I should really just read it already.
