Since today was my day over at The Broke & The Bookish to do the Top Ten Tuesday I decided to switch it up here on my own blog so I didn’t repeat myself! So go read my Top Ten Books I’d Want With Me On A Deserted Island (IT WAS SOOO HARD) and then come back and read my list of top ten book series I’d want with me on a deserted island.

YOU NEED TO FINISH THE HARRY POTTER SERIES. (sorry if that seems a bit demanding)… but seriously, you can take all the books with you… they definitely count as one book. And oh my gosh, YES about the Delirium series. I’ve just been reminded about how crazy I am about that series and how I need the last book!

I never did finish Harry Potter (read only first three books), watched all the movies and now… I don’t know. Whenever someone mentions them I always say ‘I must finish them this year!’ but… Being with them on deserted island would finnaly make me do it. 😀
LOTR was my first peek into fantasy genre so it would always be my favorite.
I agree about Legend & Delirium – we need to know what happens! 😉
As for the rest of the series, I still did not read any of them.

I love your list! I think it could almost be a good thing that you haven’t read HP if you’re on a deserted island. You’d have plenty of reading material, that’s for sure!

I’ve been addicted, heart and soul, to the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. She goes into such depth with her characters, you really start to feel they’re part of your family. They’re a wee part sci-fi, some romance, and lots of historic fiction. So far the series is at 7 volumes with #8 due out in Fall 2013, each one a minimum of 1000 pages. And no, I have no affiliation with her other than being a fan of her writing (she replaced Jane Austin on my list of favorite writers).

When I met someone who hasn’t read Harry Potter, at first I feel kind of sorry, and then I realize: everything I love about that series, they’re going to get to experience for the first time!

I’m always thinking everyone has read Harry Potter, which is stupid! And I’m actually kinda jealous because when you read it you get the entire experience for the first time! I just want to go to a deserted book island! Because there’s no way I get to take enough books with me!

I would really recommend finishing the Summer series, especially if you liked the first book. I think the final book is the best. I would like to read the Lord of the Rings sometime too!

I didn’t read Harry Potter until this year right before BEA. In fact, I actually finished book 7 while I was on the bus to NYC with April sitting next to me. So, I understand the whole not reading it thing but now that I’ve read it, I going to have to agree with everyone else, and say: READ IT NOW! Although, I can’t really say too much because out of all the series you have listed here, that is the only one I’ve read. Hmm…

Harry Potter FOR SURE, because I would want the longest, most in depth series, so I would (hopefully) never get bored. 🙂

Those three series you haven’t read yet are actually three series that I’ve read and absolutely LOVED. They’re very different from one another and equally epic! The hardest series to read out of those three is The Lord of the Rings because there’s SO much information to take in.

The Shiver trilogy!!! Ah. I haven’t read Harry Potter, either…heh. The Shade trilogy is so sweet! And I LOVE THE SUMMER TRILOGY. It’s one of those that just taps at my heart, you know? Through reading The Raven Boys! SO GOOD. I read the Scorpio Races and appreciated the beautiful writing also but just wasn’t a good time for me to have read that book. I couldn’t fully appreciate it while I was wedding planning — needed something more fast and not as dense! Definitely going to reread that one!

Oh, Harry Potter! I have read that series at least a dozen times in it’s entirety and some of the books I’ve read more! I LOVE the Jessica Darling series, it’s been one of my favorites since I was 16[and that was nine years ago!]. Definitely finish that up! Love UtNS & Delirium, and I can’t wait until the next books in the series come out. Great list. :]

I put off reading Harry Potter for a long time, but when I did read it, I couldn’t put it down. It has been a long time since a series captured my attention so thoroughly that I was reading constantly. Thankfully, I read them over summer break. Otherwise, I would’ve had to quit my job to keep reading. I will admit that the first one and the first half of the second one aren’t as fantastic, but once I got to that point I was completely hooked!
