Why I Added It To My To-Be-Read list: I recently read and FREAKING LOVED After I Do by Taylor Jenkins Reid and immediately had to look up this one!
What It’s About: It weaves together the story of one couple’s whirlwind romance and marriage with a tragedy that happens just as quickly and the process of healing that must be endured in the aftermath.
Love & Other Theories by Alexis Bass (Amazon // Goodreads)
Release Date: December 31, 2014
Why I Added It To My To-Be-Read list: It showed up in my mailbox and piqued my interest!
What It’s About: The main character and her group of friends have a pact to play the love game like guys do so they don’t get hurt. They rules are: don’t commit, don’t be needy, and don’t give away your heart. When a new guy moves in to town and surprises the main character she’s in jeopardy of breaking the “don’t fall in love” rule!
Lost & Found by Brooke Davis (Amazon // Goodreads)
Release Date: I think it was out in June 2014 in Australia and comes out January 2015 from Dutton Adult here in the states!
Why I Added It To My To-Be-Read list: I cannot remember how I found this one and it’s going to drive me NUTS. But it’s an Aussie book + there’s a road trip + the summary just sounded interesting.
What It’s About: A rag tag trio (a little kid & 2 elderly) find themselves bound together and on a road trip to find what they are looking for.
Why I Added It To My Netflix Queue: I kept seeing previews for it and it looked cute. PLUS I love me some Rachel McAdams! ALSO DIRECTOR OF LOVE ACTUALLY DIRECTED THIS!
What It Is About: “A young man who comes from a family of time-travelers changes history for the better in this romantic comedy from director Richard Curtis. During one of his trips to the past, he falls for a woman played by Rachel McAdams. ”
Why I Added It To My Netflix Queue: I don’t remember why I added this but it looks really good. Plus Mark Ruffalo and Adrian Brody are actors I like!
What It Is About: “The Brothers Bloom made a name for themselves as the world’s best con men. Now, the younger is ready to retire, but his brother lures him into one last job. What he hasn’t counted on, though, is falling for their mark, an adventure-seeking heiress.”
Why I Added It To My Netflix Queue: Netflix recommended it to me and I was like OKAY I SHALL ADD YOU BECAUSE YOU LOOK INTERESTING.
What It Is About: “Idealistic teenager Rachel astonishes her fundamentalist Mormon family when she announces that she’s been impregnated by listening to a rock song. Rachel then runs off to Las Vegas to escape an arranged marriage and to find the father of her baby.”
Bishop Allen- Lights Out
Why I Added It To My Musical Rotation: I’ve been a huge fan of Bishop Allen since 2004 when I was a college freshman and I heard their album Charm School. It’s still an album I listen to A LOT. Plus MEMORIES are associated with it. I was loving the singles being put out and so this new album came out this past week and I’ve been listening like crazy! Favorite songs thus far: Start Again, Skeleton Key, Why I Had To Go, Black Hole

Why I Added It To My Musical Rotation: Ginger suggested it would be something I would like (we are musical soulmates mostly) and SHE WAS RIGHT!! Favorite songs: Games, Broken Promise Land, Pioneers, A Million Drums
Paul Otten – Welcome To Life
Why I Added It To My Musical Rotation: I’ve been listening to all the singles he’s put out in the past year and a half on repeat and THANK GOD THE ALBUM IS SO GOOD. His single I Got Your Back made my top songs in my monthly rewind for July. Fave songs: I Got Your Back, All The Stars, I Can Wait, Welcome To Life

About Time is AMAZING. You seriously MUST watch it. It quickly became one of my all-time favourite movies. I end up sobbing every time – but in a good way. I just adore what it has to say about love, relationships, family, friends, etc. Incredibly moving.

About Time is on my list as well, I’ve heard some good things about it, and well the director of freaking LOVE ACTUALLY directed this (that should be reason enough…)

Normally I geek out about your books and music. But seriously right now drop what you’re doing and watch The Brothers Bloom. If that is on Netflix .. ahhh… it is the best movie ever. So so so good. It is absolutely one of my favorites and has the perfect mix of everything while maintaining a great quirkyness 😀

This is just one of the like 15 books I’ve added to my to-read list that comes out next year… “Written in the Stars” by: Aisha Saeed. But let’s be real, the book I’m most excited about for 2015 is “Royal Wedding” by: Meg Cabot, haha. I thought the Princess Diaries series was over, but it’s not and I’m SO happy!
TV show added to my must watch list for this upcoming season of TV, is the new show “”! Also going to check out “Red Band Society”!
Not a new band/singer added, but in a little over a month, The Script’s new album is coming out and I’m SOOOO excited!
You should check out the TV shows GREEK (it’s all on Netflix and a completed series), Agents of SHIELD, and Chicago Fire/PD! Oh, and Chasing Life (but not until you watch GREEK! ’cause a dude from GREEK is in it).

I need to watch Electric Children. It sounds like all the right kinds of my movie! I think I might have been the one who recommended Brother’s Bloom? I love that movie so much! Also, since you like Aussie books, you have to check out Girl Defective by Simmone Howell. I just finished it and it’s one of those books that I’ll love forever!

I most definitely want to read Winterspell! You had me at Nutcracker 😉 But I’m also excited for Forever, Interrupted, which I own and really want to read soon. AND (if you’re a Tree Hill fan), did you notice anything significant about the author of Lost and Found? 😉
I can’t wait to check out the artists you included. As for films, I’ve seen About Time and I really liked it. It was a heartfelt movie, and Rachel McAdams is as charming as always. Hope you enjoy it!

I want to see About Time, it looks like a good movie. I can’t wait for Winterspell! I love fairytale retellings and I’ve never read one about the Nutcracker 🙂 I watch an animation movie about that fairytale, all the time, when I was younger.

Unteachable by Leah Raeder. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever read. Also, I wish books would just show up in my mailbox. I have to fight tooth and nail for review copies.
I’m having a late summer country music kick, so right now Lady Antebellum is on repeat. I think I’m outgrowing my angsty indie music phase with its too quiet lyrics and songs that all sound the same.

All of your books look really good, plus your movie recommendations are always great! I recently added Rites of Passage, which is a super interesting military novel, and The Only Thing to Fear, about a reversed historical fiction.

I can’t say that the cover of Winterspell is my kind of thing — it turns me off, actually — but a retelling of The Nutcracker?!? That was my childhood!!!
And you MUST get around to watching About Time!! It’s such a cute movie, a great love story, and also just such a touching portrayal of life. Plus the main male lead played Bill in HP (!!!).
