Retail Therapy: Fall Vibes

Freaking FINALLY it’s starting to feel like Fall here in Philly. I LOVE summer and hot weather and always beg Mother Nature to keep the party going into September so I can prance around in dresses that make me look like I took time to get ready and lay outside & read with the sun warming my body (and probably burning it…pasty skin and all). But I hit a wall here when in mid October it was still 80 degrees. All I wanted to do was freaking wear my sweaters and trade my sandals for boots and actually be able to dress Riley in all the 0-3 month Fall stuff I bought her thinking YOU KNOW IT WOULD GET COLDER OUT.

So alas, FALL…here we are. I’ve busted out the sweaters (even bought two new ones on sales from Old Navy) and the boots have made their appearance.

MY BODY IS READY.

I NEED TO FALL-IFY MY LIFE.

And I’m pining some things mighty hard and I thought I might share with you my most FALLYFALLFALL wishlist of things I need (Will might say ~WANT~ because he does not understand lusting over things like this and needing them in your soul).

After being pregnant for 9 months I have the itch to buy NEW CLOTHES because, besides the obligatory maternity crap I had to buy, I didn’t want to buy anything not knowing what my body would be like after. BUT NOW I AM READY.

 

Here’s some of the clothing/accessories/makeup I’m pining for:

 

1. Forever 21 Cotton Utility Jacket: I’m a sucker for buying cute little jackets in the Fall. My staple is my black leather jacket but I love jackets like this too. Half the time I know they aren’t even that warm but I just like how they look. EEP.
2. Old Navy classic plaid flannel: I ALWAYS seem to add one piece of plaid flannel to my wardrobe every fall. I can’t help it. They always just scream Fall to me!
3. Seychelles Wake II Booties: I was assessing my shoe situation this past weekend and I realized I have no brown booties currently (my other pair had to go because they were SO worn). I NEED THESE.
4. Madewell Plaid Scarf: So I have a bad habit of buying scarves but never wearing them so I’m resolving to start wearing them because I can just picture this scarf going so well with so many of my planned fall outfits. I’m seriously loving the color scheme here.
5. Saddle Bag: When I saw this I immediately realized I needed something like this to fill the void in my bag collection and I think it would go so well with many of my fall outfit ideas.
6. Sam Edelman Suede Booties: I have been looking for a pair of black booties like this for awhile but I always stop short of buying them for some reason. I think my search stops with these. I LOVE.
7. ASOS Chunky Sweater: Fall = chunky sweaters forever for me. I’m really digging this cream sweater. Pro tip: they were also perfect when I was pregnant because so much room and I didn’t have to buy much winter maternity stuff because they fit me still.
8. NARS Audacious Lipstick: I’ve been mostly buying ~green beauty products~ for the past couple years but sometimes I can’t help but buy perfect lip colors from brands I love. This color looks like my new favorite color for Fall.
9. Old Navy Quilted Vest: Okay, so I realized that I do not own a single vest. I used to have TONS of puffy vests when I was in middle school (Delia’s WHAT!) but I haven’t owned one in adulthood and I keep seeing cute Fall outfits online with vests so I decided I need one.
10. H&M Flannel Shirt: I actually have a shirt similar to this from Old Navy but it’s ripping and I’m obsessed with the red and black and wear it allll the time sooooo I think I need to replace it. The one I had was a boyfriend fit and I really liked it…super comfy.
11. Levi’s Distressed Skinny Jeans: I’m in search for a new pair of jeans (I pretty much LIVE in black skinny jeans so I’m trying to branch out) and I could see this pair going so well with some sweaters I have and AHHH I am feeling peak Fall as I imagine myself in these with a chunky mustard colored sweater and a PSL in my hand.
12. Modcloth Raccoon Blouse: I think this is adorable and I can’t help but gravitate towards this color. Always.
I always love adding a couple Fall touches to my apartment:

Vase Fillers: A friend just bought these and I was admiring them when I was at her house. Very Fall-looking and easy peasy decor which is my style…just dump them in a vase. Even I can do it and I’m no Joanna Gaines.
Gold Pumpkin Decoration: I swore I saw one at Target when I was browsing. I think I did? Or did I imagine it? ALL MY TARGET TRIPS MELTING TOGETHER. But I really like this one. Wish it was a litttttle cheaper though.
Pumpkin Harvest Candle: Will came home with a pumpkin candle from Trader Joe’s recently and I really liked the smell but I feel like I’m always on the hunt for my new favorite pumpkin-y/harvest scent.

 

 

We can’t forget about Fall style for Miss Riley (although Will says I’m on a baby clothes buying “ban” but yeah okayyyy):

Nordstrom Print Dress & leggings: Can I have this outfit too?? Super cute! I love the little faux pockets with that pop of color.
Mini Boden Reversible Vest: Solid Fall piece, I think. Can put it over dresses or shirts. Plus super cute & reversible…love the pattern on the other side. I’m finding myself obsessed with the Mini Boden line.
Peekaboo Romper: Gotta have a cute Halloween romper! Speaking of Halloween stuff…I got a Hocus Pocus themed bib for her.
Plaid Flannel Dress: I mean, how cute. Plus plaid flannel is my staple Fall style so gotta dress Riley in it too.
Floral Tiered Swiss Dot Dress: I love this dress!! Old Navy’s dresses have been my favorite thing to buy her especially because there is ALWAYS a deal. I got a couple of really cute ones for like 6 bucks.
Velour Bow-Front Jacket: OH EM GEE. How adorable! I mean, it IS getting cold out and she NEEDS a jacket.
My wallet is crying just looking at my list of things I’ve added to carts on retail sites. But it’s seriously hard not to buy new Fall clothes and decor because it makes me so happy and I’m always obsessed with the Fall colors.
So, since friends don’t let friends miss out on other cute Fall things, please share with me any things that are giving YOU Fall vibes!! I’m curious if you tend to gravitate towards certain items or color palettes in the Fall?

    I absolutely LOVE summer and I was loving that the weather was warmer well into October; but this past week I’ve been desperately wanting it to feel more like autumn! I love reading fantasy/dystopia books in winter but it’s been quite warm/sunny, so it hasn’t felt right to read those books when it’s really nice weather outside. I like reading those kinds of books wrapped up in blankets, with a mug of hot chocolate, and rain falling outside, you know?

    I absolutely love those clothes! I want to get a chunky sweater, actually; I have one but it’s super tatty now. ALSO, HOW CUTE ARE THOSE BABY CLOTHES?! I LOVE THEM.

      YES I totally am ready for reading underneath a pile of blankets with hot cocoa!!

      I love chunky sweaters. I’m determined to get them in like every color haha
