Operative word: HOPE. We all know that I’m a bit of a mood reader and always read based on my various reading whims but I do like to tackle the month with a little bit of a plan to guide me and make my decision of what to read next easier. So this is what I’m planning on reading:
Tonight The Streets Are Ours by Leila Sales: This is a September release and I’m super excited about it because I mega loved her book This Song Will Save Your Life! I love books that include road trips and spontaneous adventures plus conversations about online vs IRL perceptions & reality.
Dreamstrider by Lindsay Smith: This is an October release which a crazy awesome sounding concept! “A high-concept, fantastical espionage novel set in a world where dreams are the ultimate form of political intelligence.” UM YES.
Daughter of Smoke and Bones by Laini Taylor: Because I am the absolute last person in the world to read this series.
A Northern Light by Jennifer Donnelly: I have owned this book for YEAAAARS. It’s a historical fiction novel and it has always intrigued me!
Ash & Bramble by Sarah Prineas: Another September release! Cinderella retelling YAASS.
Vengeance Road by Erin Bowman: Definitely one of my most anticipated book of this year! Wild wild west…I’m so here for this!
Walk On Earth A Stranger by Rae Carson: I’ve been so excited for this one! It’s a mishmash of fantasy and historical fiction (Gold Rush!) and I have NOT read anything like that in the history of ever so I’m stoked!
What We Saw by Aaron Hartzler: This one sounds so emotional and hardhitting…and so so relevant with all the rape cases amongst young people in the news these days + rape culture.
All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doer: VICTORY IS MINE. I was number like 600 or something on my library waiting list for this one and it is finally miiiiiine!!!! I’ve heard it’s amazing!
So tell me..have you read any of these?? What books do you know for sure you are planning to get to this month? Also, if you need some recommendations for books to read check out my Whatcha In The Mood For? series in which I rec books based on genre and mood!

The only book I’ve read on here is Vengeance Road and it’s SO GOOD. Everything was just perfect and the whole Wild West setting was so much fun. I really want to read Walk on Earth a Stranger at some point because it’s set in a similar time period.
And after I say the above I realise Daughter of Smoke and Bone is on here too haha. This series is so unique. I love the characters and the world.
I haven’t planned what I’m going to read in September. I have review books I’m prioritising but uni and exams isn’t leaving much time for reading.
Jamie says
this makes me happy that you loved Vengeance Road!!! Even more excited!
UGH hope you can fit in some for fun reading! I honestly barely read back when i was in college. Only in the summertime buuuut I kind of just didn’t prioritize it at all because I was in a dark phase where I was barely reading.

I can’t wait to read Walk on Earth a Stranger!

A Northern Light is great. I think it might be the book that brought my grown-up self back to YA reading, so I am probably rather indebted to it. 😉 All of your reads for the month sound good, so whatever you end up reading, I bet you can’t go wrong. Happy reading!

I have only read Daughter of Smoke and Bone, but I absolutely loved it — it was one of my favorite books I read last year. And I’m currently reading Vengeance Road and LOVING IT. I own All the Light We Cannot See but haven’t yet read it… hoping to get to it soon, though. Have fun with all those books! 😀

i haven’t read any of these books but daughter of smoke and bone is on my september tbr as well! so you’re definitely not the LAST person to read it. i’ve heard so many good things about it so even though i’m not super into the whole idea of fallen angels, when my friend was willing to lend it to me, i said yes. this is one of the cases where the hype is getting me to read a book i’d usually never read but i’ve heard too many good things about this series to not be at least a little curious.
anyway enjoy your september and happy reading!

Looks like a great batch of books! I still haven’t read Daughter of Smoke and Bones and need to remedy that soon. Like you and everyone else, I’m waiting to borrow a copy of All the Light We Cannot See still. On a whim I decided to reread the Wrinkle In Time Series… I was feeling nostalgic. 😉

Vengeance Road and Walk the Earth a Stranger are on my September TBR list too. Daughter of Smoke and Bone is great on audio, if that’ll help you get through this awesome series. And we are featuring Ash & Bramble on our blog today. My sister reviewed that one, and she really liked it.
