One of the posts I always catch up on when I open my blog reader, and have for years, is Yes & Yes’s Web Time Wasters posts because I think they are so great! Honestly, I find that they are my favorite posts of lots of lifestyle blogs because they curate them so well and I’m always discovering things! I’m always looking to share articles and random stuff and don’t always feel like waiting until my Monthly Rewind posts so decided to introduce a similar post!
- Looking for the perfect Fall/Halloween read? Check out this Halloween book list, this one and this one. If you are in need of some costume inspiration…I gotchu. So does this list.
- I appreciated this interview with John Green re: his OCD and his latest book.
- YAS. So agree with Samantha Mabry’s article about book banning.
- OH MAN. There goes any free time I have while Riley is napping. I’m obsessed with the Myers-Briggs personality test (ENFP represent!) and this article has 11 personality tests to take.
- I cannot wait to see Dumplin‘!!! I super loved that book!
- I air dry my hair A LOT (especially now with Riley…no time for spending an hour on my hair) so I HAVE to try this to see if it looks better.
- I’ve been shying away from the ruffle trend because I don’t need to look any younger than my baby face already makes me (never fun to be 32 and for someone to ask what high school you go to) but I really love this shirt.
- Now that I have a tiny human I am responsible for raising I find myself NOT scrolling past parenting articles I see. Are we raising bubble wrap kids? (What do you guys think??) It’s a topic that I’ve been thinking about a lot lately — 1) because Will and I were just talking about how much freedom we had as kids vs. what it seems like now and 2) I’m reading this book about parenting around the world and so many other cultures give their kids much more freedom than Americans. It’s interesting to think about!
- OMG I NEED THIS DRESS. I didn’t see it when I was compiling this post but oh boy do I need it and would definitely add it to my FALL VIBES. Also totally would buy this dress just for the neckline alone.
- OMG JUSTIN I AM MELTING.
- I had seen this post going around Facebook and I sobbed as a new mom who especially has had lots of feelings of inadequacy and self-doubt and fears of forever screwing up a tiny human.
- I’ve been eying this bag and now it’s on sale. HMMM SHOULD I BUY IT? (I prefer to ask you, wise ol’ readers, rather than Will because he’s like BUT YOU HAVE MULTIPLE PURSES WHY DO YOU NEED MORE???)
Okay, that’s all for now. Hope you all have a good week!!
PS. Check out all the Fall stuff I’m lusting over // Or maybe you want to know what all I’ve been reading lately!

I’m ENFP too! 🙋
I feel you on the looking young thing. When Maylie was a little over a week old I had a lady start talking to me when I was in line for food. She asked me a few questions and then THIS happened:
Her: Is she your first?
Me: Yes
Her: And how old are you?
Me: I’m 27 (My birthday was a few days later)
Her: OH MY!! (Followed by hysterical laughing.)
I’m sure she was thinking late teens. And by Utah standards I’m an old first time mom, but I’m not THAT old!
Bubble wrap kids… Well, my nieces and nephews completely lose their crap when commercials come on, they don’t GET it. They always watch Netflix and Hulu, they have no idea what commercials are! My nephew is ten, we tried explaining waiting all week to watch a new episode, it just didn’t compute. It’s a weird from of sheltering.
It’s weird, I won’t want to be paranoid to the point that Maylie never had fun or experiences anything, that’s how my mom was. I LOVE her, I truly do, but I never got to play outside. (Undiagnosed PPA, I think. So my heart hurts for her.)
I want Maylie to play and explore and have fun, but I also want her safe. WHY IS PARENTHOOD SO SCARY AND CONFUSING??

ANCIENT FIRST TIME MOM ALSO…like seriously I was 31 when I had her and most people I know have multiple kids. Not starting their fam.
OMG the kids I nanny freak out about commercials too.
YES this is my thing…I want to give her freedom but I also want to protect her from all the bad. I forget what country the woman was talking about but she was saying out young kids go off by themselves and in the US we’d probably get in trouble if a kid that young walked to school solo. I hope to be somewhere in the middle (my mom was strict too…my dad wasn’t and we were fine when we did stuff at his house).
